Day 1

Date: 4/21/15 (double)


Preparation for start of using videoscribe
I changed to use videoscribe instead of using Lightworks for the whole time. My plan was to connect
my illustration in Lightworks, but teacher recommended me to show more techniques making a video,
so I decided to use Videoscribe. Hence, I had to learn how to use videoscibe. I started learning how to
use video scribe.

This is the starting page of videoscribe to make new slide.

With icons on top left-middle side of the page, I can insert image, text, graph, sounds, and voice over.
With the hand icon on the right side of the bar, I can choose the type of hands/pen/etc that I can write
or draw image/text on the page.

With icons on top right side of the page, I can preview my work, and upload on YouTube, Facebook,
and clouds.

With icons placing at the bottom right side of the page helps deleting the image
or text, changing the direction of the page, changing the view of camera, and
having transparent view of specific image.

This is the bar placing at the bottom of the page for enumerating images or texts inserted in the

scene.

Day 2
Today, I finished setting the first scene of my video among six of them. I used few skills to compose
the first scene, adding images/illustrations, adding text, setting the animating/pause/transition time
of images/illustrations, and recording voiceover in the scene. It was not so complicated for me to use
the program. It was not confusing, as the direction was outstanding. I inserted the monitor illustration
in the scene, and included the text on the screen of monitor to proceed the plan of my design
annotation. I chose the colors of social, and media to enhance those words in the video.
My final design annotation:
The first scene shows the monitor. Screen flickers for 3 times and shows the screen with words Bad
influence of social media and its solution in a format of SNS. I tried to show the topic, Bad influence
of social media in the first scene. Also, Monitor represents other medium, such as television or
mobile phone. I directed the words in feature of SNS because I wanted to relate social media
problems directly to the SNS which cause the main problems among social media problems.
The first scene of my video was presenting the main topic/title of my video.

1. Clicked the icon of image in the top left side of the screen, and I searched for/clicked image
of monitor to insert the title text in it.

2. Clicked the icon of text in the top left side of the screen, and I created the text to insert it as
a title in the monitor.

3. When one click the three-colored box, next to the F Icon, colors showed up. For the words
social and media, I chose red and blue each like I said in my final design annotation.

4. I finished designing the first scene of my video.

Day 3
I made the second scene of my video. I implemented some new skills today. Adding illustration, adding
actual image, adding text, changing the outline color of the illustration, and setting
animating/pause/transition time of illustration/text. During the process for the second scene, I had to
change some points from my actual planning. Image of handshake was not planned, but to show more
organized time setting, I changed my plan to just show the applications right away. I inserted
illustrations of mediums, handshake, arrows, and social media. Then, I included some texts on the
computer (illustration) and television (illustration). I changed the color of Facebook. Twitter, and
YouTube from black, to show their actual color in reality. After this, in the prolonged scene, I added the
actual image from my computer.

My second design annotation:


The second scene shows the monitor, television, and mobile phone in order. After that, the word WEB
appears in the monitor. Then the word EVENT appears in the television, and Facebook, Twitter, and
Instagram comes out of the screen of mobile phone in order. To explain, by Medium which showed up
in order for the first time, I wanted to show types of medium used for helping communication and
causing problems between people. And the word WEB, EVENT, and applications are the things what
people do through medium in recent days. This scene was for informing basic information about social
media. *After this scene, I will show the big earth and show the letter WWW to show that all those
medium are connected through World Wide Web.

1. I chose right icons for each images that I wished for. (computer, television, phone,
handshake, arrow, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter)

2. I set those icons on the right place (where I hoped to).

3. Clicked the text icon, and I inserted the planned text in the screen.

4. Clicked the icon of text, type web, and insert it in the page, set it up in the right place (fit in
the monitor icon on the screen).

5. I changed the color of the icon (Facebook) by clicking color box and select the color blue.

6. Finished setting up/inserting all the images/icons/texts in the screen.

1. I couldnt find the icon of earth in the videoscribe.

2. So I brought image from my computer instead of searching one in the videoscribe.

3. I can choose one of the type among six versions of drawings.

4. I added the image from my computer and set it in the middle.

5. I placed the text on the image to relate the World Wide Web as global.

Day 4
In the fourth scene, I used the skill of adding image/illustration, adding text, setting
animate/pause/transition time for each image/illustration/text, setting the camera, and using drawing

and morph in transition of the image/illustration. In the third scene, I had hard time setting the
camera. The problem was that the drawing was keep zooming in at the specific section. So I got advice
from teacher, and I could solve the problem. I learned how to set the camera at one place. Also,
another things was that I couldnt find the correct illustration like my expectation. I had to fine the
illustration of online, offline, and broken chain, but none of them were there. So, I used the drawings
from my computer/internet. I made a graph out of many illustrations given in the image icon. Also, I
inserted some pictures imported from my computer and internet in the first additional scene, and used
move motion to draw the image in the page. In the second additional scene, I showed the invasion of
privacy with image of locker and hammer, with the skill of draw. Lastly, the third additional scene was
medicine, used morph motion creating pill from drawing of case of medicine.

My third design annotation:
The third scene shows the graph of people who witnessed social media problems. Under the title of
the graph, the graph shows higher rate of yes, compared to no. This represents the information which
many people witness social media problems and it explains the high rate of social media problems
happening around the world. *I planned to put the illustrations of types of social media problems
which I drew on the third scene of Design #1. I will show those illustrations type by type to make it
clear (not too slow). The first drawing showing up after the graph will be the torn paper of online and
offline. Second drawing will be the hammer trying to break the locker. The last one will be the case of
medicine and some pills.

1. I inserted line in the screen to create the line of the graph.

2. I inserted text for categories of the graph and title of the graph.

3. Inserted the stick showing the result of the graph. And to enhance one part of the graph
among two, I used arrow pointing at one side.

4. To give a difference between two results, I colored two of them in to different colors.

5. This is the finished shot of the scene.

1. I added the representative of offline from my computer as the videoscribe didnt have the
image/illustration of the offline.

3. I added the representative of broken chain from my computer as the videoscribe didnt have
the image/illustration of broken chain.

4. Set it as move in motion as I used too many draw motion to show the illustration/image in
the video.

5. Set it as move in motion as used move in motion for the online image (to balance each
side).

6. I used draw motion for broken chain to give difference with offline/online images.

7. The hand drawing the broken chain is chosen as the mini car.

8. This is the shot of the third scene that I made.

receiving malicious comments.

2. I used draw motion for the case of the medicine and morph motion for the pill placing next
to the case.
