Career Objectives
I am seeking a permanent public relations and communications position in the
workforce. I am a highly motivated and committed individual who prides myself on
hard work and resilience. I have outstanding communications skills and am proficient
in writing media releases, producing media kits and knowing how to target particular
audiences through online platforms which I believe are highly important skills to
succeed in a communications role.
Career Highlights
I am currently in my final year of study at Deakin University completing a Bachelor of
Arts (Public Relations) degree. I have just completed an internship with highly
respected non for profit organisation Guide Dogs Victoria which was a highly coveted
opportunity. Not only was I able to make a difference, but also refine my
communications skills to the outstanding level they are at now.

Marketing/Communications Intern
Constructing media releases and publications - Liaised with photographers and
reporters to organise celebrity photo shoots and interviews. Coordinated scheduling
of all parties to be at the correct places at the right time and discussed content that
would be included. These articles were successfully included in monthly newsletters
and media releases.
Social Media updates - I was in charge of daily online posts for different social media
platforms. I utilised my computer and communication skills to interview relevant
department heads to produce engaging content. As a result I established highly
engaging posts and interesting material relevant to the organisation.

I produced a communications plan for one of the organisation's events. Utilising

PowerPoint and public speaking skills I pitched my idea to my superiors and other
decision makers. They took my pitch on board and were presented with a clear and
detailed outline of the task at hand.
Negotiating and communicating effectively to resolve conflict with a difficult team
member. By listening to the individual's concerns and understanding their point of
view I was able to work out a fair conclusion by negotiating and speaking clearly. The
individual walked away happy and I diffused the situation in a respectable manner.
