Supply Teacher
I teach on an on call basis in the Anglophone West School District. As a supply teacher I have
had the opportunity to teach Kindergarten to Grade 12.
I have taught primarily at Perth Andover Middle School, Andover Elementary School,
Donald Fraser Elementary School and Tobique Valley Middle High School.
As a supply teacher I have the opportunity to see different classrooms including classroom
management styles and strategies as well as different classroom set-ups and organization.
Held parent teacher conferences to discuss student progress after reporting periods
(January and April)
Created lessons based on learning styles
Created both formative and summative assessments which reflected and respected
different learning styles.
This was a summer position at Laugh and Learn Children's Centre in Harvey, NB. I
designed a summer collaboratively with the kids I worked with. The program was
intended to be flexible in order to incorporate the needs and interests of all the children
who attended. Along with the programming for the kids I was also responsible for

cleaning and keeping daily records in order for the day care to meet government
standards.
At Park Street Elementary School I had the opportunity to work in a team teaching Grade 1
and 2 classroom. Mrs. Katy Culberson and Ms. Mary-Jo Moir were my cooperating teachers.
They helped to enhance my effective communication, organizational and leadership skills
during my time in their classroom. During my placement I taught an array of subjects
including: Math, Language Arts, Art, and You & Your World.
Park Street Elementary School is an extremely student focused school and during my time
there, classes were split up into ability groups for Math. I had a group of advanced Grade 1
students (which was a mixture of Grade 1 and 2 students). With the guidance of Katy I
created a pre-test which allowed me to tailor the work we did to the students needs. At the
end I gave a final assessment to show the progress of each student.
In Language Arts I had a group of students who I took separately to work on enrichment
projects. Students picked a topic, questions to be researched, and a method of presentation.
At the end of the project, students presented their hard work to their fellow classmates. This
was an amazing learning experience for the students, but also for me as I was amazed at how
much a young person can accomplish when given the proper tools.
