Dear Sir/Madam
Re: Hontondo Homes
I am writing to apply for the Communications Co-ordinator position as advertised on Seek,
20th May 2015.
I am a final year Deakin Universtity student with only one subject remaining in order to
complete my Bachelor of Arts Public Relations Degree, and am excited to begin full-time
work in a new career. I am extremely interested in obtaining employment with Hontondo
Homes particularly as it is recognised as one of the leading providers in networking
professional builders.
Thus far I have built my career upon customer service, insurance and sales, which has
allowed me to develop necessary skills vital to any industry. These include effectively greeting
and building rapport with clients, maintaining relationships with all stakeholders, meeting
company quotas, motivating and influencing team members as well as obtaining individual
goals and objectives.
I have also had practical public relations experience through volunteering at the Afghan
Australian Development Organisation (AADO) over the last two years. My role has been
primarily public relations focused and has included facilitating communications with publics
through social media platforms including Facebook and twitter, as well as assisting with coordinating events and developing a Government grant proposal.
During my time volunteering in the public relations industry I have developed a strong frame
of mind and have learned to take initiative to make the most out of all opportunities presented.
I have also learned to be extremely organisated, a team player and to think on my feet. I
believe these skills are vital in order to work effectively with Hontondo Homes as well as the
organisations stakeholders. I believe I possess the right attitude and determination in order to
uphold the high level of communications that Hontondo Homes strives to deliver. Through
practical experience I have also improved on my writing skills and am able to put documents
together quickly.
My current employment is with Job Prospects as an Employment Consultant where I provide
job services assistance to job seekers. My role is to establish positive relationships with my
clients in order to place them into suitable employment. I am responsible for ensuring they
possess the right information about the current job market as well as the necessary skills and
techniques in order to quickly obtain employment. I work with well with management who
review my performance according to KPIs.
Upon reading my resume you will find that I have had previous experiences that will provide a
stable foundation for any public relations role Hontondo Homes is offering. My background
has allowed me to quickly adapt to ever-changing situations and I plan to deliver exceptional
work while working well with others.

Kind Regards,
Jennifer Petropoulos
