Vanessa has been a standout student in my 11th grade Advanced Placement US History class. As her coach for cross-country and basketball I have seen her develop into a fantastic player and teammate. She has proven herself to be a leader in school, the community, and her home.

To Whom It May Concern: It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on behalf of Vanessa Najarro, for she undoubtedly is one of my most deserving and mature students. I have known Vanessa since August 2013. In that time, she has been a very successful and standout student in my 11th grade Advanced Placement US History class, achieving a well-earned B in a very demanding course as well as becoming a leader and role model for her peer group. In the time I have gotten to know Vanessa, I have come to admire her on many levels. Academically, she has proven herself to be an intelligent and articulate young lady who possesses a genuine and refreshing intellectual curiosity. Vanessa is not only an intelligent young lady, but also a great supporter of her fellow classmates. She has been a part of student leadership for the past two years and has demonstrated leadership attributes beyond her years. Vanessa has a very positive attitude that is contagious to both students and faculty. It has been a pleasure to see Vanessa develop as a student and especially as a leader in the classroom. Besides her academics and school leadership Vanessa is an outstanding athlete and even better teammate. As her coach for cross-country and basketball I have seen her develop into a fantastic player and team leader. In basketball, Vanessa was awarded the Scorpion Spirit Award because she epitomizes what it means to be a team player and hard worker. Although Vanessa faces several challenges relating to her environment and community, she has found a way to persevere as well as inspire those around her. Vanessa is hardworking, diligent, and resilient as well. Vanessa has proven herself to be a leader in school, the community, and her home by consistently going the extra mile and especially by putting others needs before her own. I truly hope that you will give this truly talented and mature young lady an opportunity to thrive and excel in your program. Again, I cannot reiterate what a positive asset Vanessa will be to the South Central Scholars community. Sincerely, Aaron Akwaboah Every student has the ability.
