Directions: Include an Entry Form for each artifact and respond to the following prompts.
Question 1: What is the artifact? Identify the artifact (case study, PowerPoint presentation, field evaluation,
lesson plan, unit, video, literature review, or other) and give a brief narrative description.
The artifact chosen for standard seven is the final evaluation for my clinical experience. I spent fifteen
weeks in a seventh grade science classroom where I took on all of the roles and responsibilities of the
classroom teacher. Several times throughout my clinical experience I was observed by a supervisor assigned
to me from the University of Mount Union. This is the summative evaluation of the entire student teaching
experience. It highlighted some of the areas where I was strong as well as some areas that had room for
improvement.
Question 2: How does the artifact relate to the OSTP standard? Use language of the standard to explain how
it relates.
I chose this evaluation as my artifact because I believe it is a reflection of my growth and development as a
teacher. It shows where I was fifteen weeks ago and the amount of progress made throughout the whole
experience. The scores reflect that I do understand and uphold professional ethics and policies, and legal
codes of professional conduct. The scores also reflect that I did take responsibility for engaging in
purposeful professional development.
Question 3: What have you learned from the artifact experience that will make you a better teacher in the
future?
The entire clinical experience as full of experiences that helped me develop as a teacher. As a teacher and
coach, you realize there is always room for improvement. No matter how good you may get at something,
there will always be something you can improve. There was a tremendous amount of progress made within
fifteen weeks. It allowed me to realize the amount of progress that can be made throughout the course of my
entire teaching career. There will always be opportunities to positively impact teaching quality, school
improvements, and student achievement.
