Chicken symbolizes prosperity
and the togetherness of family.
The chicken head symbolizes joy
The feet and tail of the chicken represent
completeness.

Fish ( ) Y
The word fish almost has
the same pronunciation as the
word which means remain
or surplus or having having left over
money or an increase of prosperity.

Long Noodles ( ) Zhng mintio


Long Noodles represent
longevity.
The Chinese try to keep
them as long as possible
for good luck.

Eating duck on Chinese New
Year represents fertility.

Peaches ( ) Tozi
A single peach represents
immortality.
A pair of peaches represent
wealth, abundance, a long and
healthy life and great fortune for many
generations.

Tangerines represent wealth and luck.
The words gold and orange sound almost
the same in Chinese.
The leaves that are attached to
the tangerines symbolize
longevity.

Since dumplings are shaped
like ancient-shaped currencies,
they are thought to bring good
fortune and prosperity.

Pomegranates represent having a lot of
offspring.

Dried oysters are said to bring prosperity
toward good business.

Pineapple represent wealth, luck
and excellent fortune.
