Accessing Cognos 8 using Dispatcher URI

If Cognos 8 is not configured with a Web Server or the Web Server is not working
correctly, then the Cognos 8 URL can be accessed using the dispatcher URI. Here are the
steps to find the dispatcher URI for your Cognos setup.
a. Open Cognos Configuration
b. Click on Environment under Local Configuration
c. Copy the External Dispatcher URI

Now, when you access the dispatcher URI, it should look like this:

There are only hyperlinks and all the graphics available in the Cognos URL is not visible
at all. Now, to add the graphics to this the following steps are to be carried out:
a. Copy the contents of the directory <Cognos_Installation_Directory>/webcontents/
b. Paste the contents to the directory <Cognos_Installation_Directory>/webapps/p2pd/

After this, try to access the dispatcher URI again, now you should see Cognos
Connection with all the Cognos 8 graphics.
