The UIC100 Universal Interface Module is designed to allow the UVR500 series
voltage regulators to be controlled from external systems such as parallel
control modules, engine control panels, PLCs, KVAR controllers and any other
digital or analog device with an output signal of 0 to 10vdc. The UIC100 can
be field configured to lower the generator output with a rise in external signal
voltage or to raise the generator voltage with a rise in external signal voltage.
The UIC100 can accept a digital or analog process signal.

Installation:
1. Check your external controller to see that it is capable of producing a digital or
analog voltage from 0vdc to 10vdc.
2. Connect up as per your application.
3. Start up generator and adjust voltage regulator to desired setting at no load.
4. Set your external input device to input +5vdc into the UIC when the generator is at
correct voltage and the generator has no load.
5. Re-adjust voltage to desired voltage.
6. Apply load to generator and observe voltage.

Special Issues:
If you are going to use this system for reverse operation (generator voltage decreases with
increase in control voltage), you will need a constant input voltage of 10 to 12vdc at
terminals 5 & 6 of the UIC100.

If the UIC100 is connected to a system that will parallel generator complete with load
sharing, external ct's are not necessary for droop control.
