1. This essay's purpose is to showcase who I am and who I think I am.

This essay will

show you my interests which include biking on my 2 bikes (one for school, the other for offroading), my outdoorsmanship ability, and my interest in a historically based strategy game
called Civilization V(5). It also shows my broad range of skills from in work ethic, my
mathematical ability, and my ability to use the English language effectively. Finally, It shows
what I value and believe in, such as the importance of education, the power of science, and the
value of physical activity. There will be more detail in this essay further on, so please enjoy.
2. I have a variety of interests and they include Biking, Outdoorsmanship, and
Civilization V. I take interest in biking, and use my bike for just about anything. I started when I
was 12 when I would go biking for 8 kilometers every day with my father. I have extended that
to roughly 50km per day, over a span of 4 years. I also take interest in Outdoorsmanship (basic
survival), and started when I was 11. That was when I went on my first winter campout with my
scout group. I stayed in a tent both nights and the year later, constructed a shelter out of simply
a tarp, spare rope and tent pegs. That same year, I went on my first canoe trip to Muskoka, and
have gone every year since. Finally, I take interest in Civilization V. This history based video
game is an in-depth strategy game that involves going towards victory with Domination,
Culture, Diplomacy, and Science.
3. My skills include Work Ethic, Mathematics, and English. I am very skilled in work
ethic because I always get things done no matter what the situation. An example of this is when
I received the Chief Scout Award in 2012. I was in my final year of scouts and was 13 when I
received the award (most people take an extra year just to achieve the award). When I really
started to work towards the award, I had less than a month to finish the requirements for the
award and I finished them all and became probably the youngest person in the group to
achieve the award. I am also skilled in mathematics. I have done well in mathematics since
elementary school and although I hit a snag last year (my mark was 64% but I brought it up to a
75%), I still enjoy mathematics and currently have an 84% in the applied level. My two best
units in math are proportional reasoning and quadratic relations. The two areas I could work on
are algebraic expressions and linear systems. Finally, I am skilled in English and the English
language. I am currently in college level English and have an 87% in ENG 2P1. I can express my
ideas about things fluently in short answer and long answer questions.
4. My top 3 Values in Forced Choice Testing are Workmanship, Freedom, and
Influence. The workmanship means that I prioritize finishing stuff well. An example of my
workmanship is just recently in my Welding class I got an 80% on my die I was making. My
teacher told me that I had one of the best marks in the class on the die. The Freedom means
that I enjoy independence and doing what I want. I enjoy working independently because I can
do things my way, without much influence from others. I also enjoy Freedom because I can act

upon my own will. Finally, the Influence means that I value that people think well of me
because I would like to be trusted by people and value people looking up to me.
5. My beliefs and attitudes include the importance of education, the unrestricted
power of science, and that being physically fit is an important part of life. My first belief is that
education is extremely important. The education system is teaching the young people of our
country the basics they need to do anything that earns them a job. Without it, they would not
know as much, and would be unable to get a job that pays at least minimum wage. My other
belief is the unrestricted power of science. With science, anything can be done and we are
becoming more technologically advanced through the years. For example, (this goes back quite
some time) within a span of 66 years, we went from flight to landing on the moon. And that's
just 66 years. With technological advancements that fast, who knows where we will go in the
next 50 years? My final belief is that being physically fit is an important part of life. Although I
did not take any phys-ed classes this year, as stated before, I bike 50km per day when I have the
time and go on canoe trips every summer. That alone has made me much more physically fit
and will increase even more as the years go by.

Therefore, I believe that I am an active, knowledgeable, hard-working 16 year old. The

physical activity has made me more healthy than I would have been without it and makes
activities involving physical activity easier. I use my knowledge in mathematics and English to
apply myself better in all situations involving those disciplines and many more. Finally, I put
110% effort into everything and my marks in school and certificates prove just that. This essay
