1. Intel Education STEM Resources
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/education/k12/stem.html
This website is extremely useful for educators who need math, science or STEM
ideas. There are 3-6 sample mathematics, science and STEM project units for each of
the k-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12 grade spans. Additionally, power points, activity templates,
and assessments are attached to each project unit. These 12-day unit plans include
essential questions, materials, and EL teaching strategies.
2. EPA: United States Environmental Protection Agency

This website has different subsection including science & technology, and Laws &
regulations. Under the science & technology tab provides homework help, classroom
resources, project ideas, lesson plans, community service projects, science fair
experiments, and videos about the environment. Specifically, topics under the science
section include: air, climate change, ecosystems, energy, health, pesticides, waste, and
water. This website can also be translated into Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, and
Korean.
3. Middle School Science
http://middleschoolscience.com
This website contains lesson plans and resources for teachers who teach science in
grades 5-8. My favorite part of the website is under the section titled, junkyard
wars. They are friendly competitions where students engineer the best project (with
guidelines) and compete against their peers. Additionally, projects, lessons, and
experiments pertaining to chemistry, earth science, life science, properties of matter
and space science are also available.
4. Middle School Chemistry
http://www.middleschoolchemistry.com
This website has 6 chapters of varied science lessons plans, activities for students,
worksheets, assessments and a multi-media section. Topics include, Matter- solids,
liquids, and gases, changes of state, density, periodic table and bonding, the water
molecule and dissolving, and chemical change. Lessons within the chapter contain
engaging videos that can provide background information, probe student thinking,
and knowledge for both students and teachers. This website can also be translated into
Spanish.
5. Dream Up The Future
http://teachers.egfi-k12.org
This science and engineering website provides many resources for k-12 teachers.
Lesson plans; class activities, k-12 outreach programs, web resources, and current
education news are all available. These resources are clearly organized, and easy to
search.

6. Buck Institute for Education

http://bie.org
This website defines project-based learning. This website connects with people across
all forms of social media. They encourage teachers to share their personal resources
and experiences with Project-based learning lessons. This site has many resources for
teachers, coaches, and administration to read blogs, books, articles, and rubrics. Also
available are hands-on videos to teach concepts and ideas, and participate in live
chats. Most importantly, Project-Based Unit plans available for multiple grade levels
and subjects.
7. Tennessee STEM Innovation Network

curriculum ideas, learning tools, lesson plans, project-based learning units,
professional developments, strategies and videos. This website offers resources to
administrators, business/community, parents, student resources, and teachers.
Available topics of study include: art, engineering, history, language arts, math,

elementary, middle and high school.
8. Science Buddies
http://www.sciencebuddies.org
This website has science experiments, lessons, science kits, and information on
physical science, life science, earth and environmental science, and engineering. I
would be able to use these experiments in my classroom to convey ideas to students.
This website also has rubrics for grading and evaluating students for science-project
display boards, graphing analysis, and bibliographies and research plans.
9. National Science Teachers Association
http://www.nsta.org
I heard about this site through my BTSA mentor. We actually attended the 2014
December conference in Long Beach, California. This site provides information for
teachers, administrators and coaches. This science website is for 6-12 science
teachers. There are books, articles, and online journals for educators to browse.
Curriculum planning is also available, along with conference dates.
