REFLECTION AND SELF EVALUATION

MDD Standard 6
The teacher candidate identifies the main things learned in this practicum and ways
in which this learning has informed their professional development needs, reflecting on
the meaning, values, and purposes that will orient his or her professional life.
4.1 Reflect on the main things you have learned about teaching and how these relate
to your understanding of the profession and the values that guide your work.
I learned a lot about how to be a good teacher, the things that I will do in the
future, the situations that I will face with the students and the importance of
planning and prepare our lessons to achieve good results in our students. The
perseverance and patience is important in this profession, we have to be able to
teach and convey good values to our students and our colleagues.
4.2 Describe one or two areas of professional growth (e.g. instructional strategies,
content knowledge).
Where I learned a lot was in the instructional strategies area, while I was
observing I notice the way how the teacher gives students instructions, the
volume, repetition, ask students, etc. Thus, I tried to do that when I had the
opportunity and that helps me a lot.
4.3 Identify personal strengths and weaknesses on facing this future challenge.
My personal strength on facing future challenges is the confidence, now I am
more confident about what can I do, what I know and what I had learned. My
weakness is the students control, at the beginning I had some problems with
that and when I do not know students it is a bit difficult for me how to react in
front of them.
