Social institutions are established sets of norms and subsystems that suppo
rt each society's survival. Each sector carries out certain tasks and has differ
ent responsibilities that contribute to the overall functioning and stability of
a society. This helps to decrease chaos and increase structure. While societi
es may differ in how they establish these responsibilities

A NUCLEAR FAMILY
The traditional definition of a nuclear family is a
family unit that includes two married parents of
opposite genders and their biological or adopted
children living in the same residence.
1. Nuclear family is the most common institution.
2. Families support each other in different needs
