MARILLA FIRE COMPANY, INC. 1950 West Ave. - P.O. Box 124 Marilla, New York 14102 Hall 716-652-1080 Fax 716-652-0491 July 8, 2015 Mr. Supervisor, ‘We are here to clear the name of the entire Marilla Fire Company. It was stated by you in an earlier publication that “a select few inthe fre company, atthe last town board meeting think they are entitled to more money than what the budget, and a signed. contract guarantees them.” This is @ COMPLETELY false and ignorant statement. When myself, or any ether official come to a town meetin like this one, itis to represent the entirety of our organization. NO fire company’ offical, including myself comes here with a personal agenda, Also, not one of us thinks we are entitled to anything. If anyone in this town thinks we have a sense of “entitlement” they are Sorely mistaken. We simply eame here looking for the workers compensation refund we were previously promised. We do not ant extra money from the tax payers of our town, Aso in your slanderous publication, you stated “This was nothing but an orchestrated political ploy”. First off I don’t appreciate ‘you referring to myself or the fie company as political. We serve the community 365 days a year, 4 hours aday, We help our ‘neighbors on some of the worst days of ther lives. We leave our warm beds and meal to perform selfless acts you cannot, and will not ever understand. Town politics have not one place at the Matilla Fite hall, or in its daily operation, We are contracted by the town to do ajob and we doit well, We are aware that at a work session you recently made a motion, and board approved a payment of $15,000 tothe fire company. ‘No thank you sir. The fire company does NOT want any extra tax payer dollars. We do not want any “extra” money in addition ‘our current contrac. It should also be noted that you on several occasions proclaimed i to be illegal and irresponsible to give ‘ax payer money to the fire company. It is very evident that this is nothing more than an “I'm sorry” gesture for dragging the fire ‘company name through the mud in every local publication available to you. I cannot be bought, and the fire company will not be ‘bought. On behalf ofthe Maria Fire Company Iam asking that you keep your $15,000 and publish an apology for your actions ‘and statements, in the same manor that you incorrectly accused us just weeks ago. Lastly, you personally attacked me in your publication. Calling me irresponsible and unprofessional [haven't yet found where 1 acted unprofessional or irresponsible. Coming to the town, to ask fora refund that was promised tothe fire company is nothing short of reasonable, and responsible. On a daily basis, at all hour I look out for the best interest of the town's people, the people that serve in ou fire company, and our organization asa whole. I dedicate countless un-paid hours serving asa fire chiet to ensure the safety and well being ofthe people of this town. I also demand an apology. I expect that you will put a public Statement out in every local media, correcting yourself and admitting that itis your wrong doing and oversight that we find ‘ourselves in this situation, Shame on you for launching a personal attack, shame on your for insulting every member ofthe Marilla Fire Company, shame on you for resorting to a coward's way out, and shame on you for not puting the town of Marita above the politics, after all that is your campaign slogan Respectfully, Dee Bradley D.
