This document compares traditional and progressive curricula in education. Traditional curriculum is teacher-centered, uses paper tests, and only follows rules set by the teacher. Progressive curriculum is student-centered, uses performance-based testing, and allows rules to be set jointly by teachers and students. Progressive curriculum also focuses more on applying knowledge, uses technology, incorporates group work, and introduces new teaching strategies. However, both curricula aim to teach learners and help them achieve goals through their own approaches. The author believes progressive curriculum provides a higher quality education by applying what is being learned.

Student Centered Paper & pencil test Performance test Only the teacher rules will be Teacher & student rules will be followed followed Focused on defining and Focused on the application of recalling of information the acquired knowledge The teacher dont have enough The teacher have knowledge knowledge on technologies for on technologies so it would be effective teaching easier for him to teach More on individual work More on group work They are only following the Introduce new strategies in strategies on the books in teaching Used modern instructional teaching Used traditional instructional material suited to the needs of material like charts, pictures, the learner etc. Similarities both of them aim the learner to learn both of them want to accomplish a certain goal both of them have the way to handle their learner both of them have their own way how the learner can acquire knowledge My Personal Insights: If we compare the two curriculums, I can say that traditional curriculum is far but not that far from progressive curriculum because in traditional curriculum we are only doing and using the traditional or normal way and following what are in the guide unlike in the progressive they can say that they are using and following also the guide but it is more progressive because in progressive curriculum they applying what they are learning thats why in progressive curriculum there is a quality of a education.
