RESPONSE TO FEEDBACK
As we continue to improve the process through which we receive feedback from year to year, we
encourage all staff to continue contributing to the direction of our schools - your voice matters.
Overall, the calendar was well received by both high school and elementary-middle school staff, and
based on your survey responses, we made the following changes:
68% of all respondents requested more breaks or vacation days
We extended the Memorial Day break to a four-day weekend to give staff a much-needed
break between April and July.
We extended the end-of-year break to August 30 to give staff a total of 50 vacation days
and more days off during the summer.
We kept the current PD/PTC calendar with full day PD sessions. Full-day PDs provide
teachers with focused, dedicated time for planning and training. For clarification, the early
dismissal days were removed because district records show that those days had low
attendance averages.
69% of responses regarding the assessment calendar were in favor of the current draft
Weve included high school examination days as well as last day for seniors to ensure
that all schools are on the same timeline.
We plan to keep the proposed assessment calendar progression and will provide specific
testing windows when state assessment dates are publicly available for the next school year.
Frequent, full-day Professional Development days are regularly scheduled. This provides
teachers with focused time to plan, collaborate and train. These days are scheduled after term
endings to incorporate quarterly data analysis during PD days, and when possible, combined
with PTCs.
Defined Interim Assessment and EOC test windows eliminate confusion. Test dates are
scheduled 2- 3 weeks prior to PD days to allow for timely data analysis and instructional
adjustments.

Only test-takers are required to attend school during 11th Grade SAT & Work Keys testing,
ensuring a controlled, quiet environment for testers.
5
Ending the High School semester in June allows for flexibility in summer scheduling. Two PD
days in late June provide teachers with time to begin planning for the summer session.
