This exercise will give your nervous system great strength. You have to qualify yourself to be a sensory human.
The success of the exercise depends on how tightly you tighten your hands during the last 2 minutes. If you
feel dizzy following the exercise, drink some water immediately.

Everybody knows that there is a God. It does not matter what religion you
belong to, or whether you say God, Shakti, or Manifestation. Everybody is
told creatively, again and again, that there is a God, but you do not know
what to do with it. You are smart to agree, Yes, there is a God. Yes, God
created me, and yes, God is everywhere. But when you are asked which
God you follow, you freak out, I follow Allah, I follow Ram, I follow
Krishna,I follow Mohammed. It comes down to the messenger. First there
was the Word, then the person who introduced the Word.
Although there is one God and one humanity, one creation and one Creator, you cannot love the oneness of
it. You need something to be in variance. The Muslim God is available on Friday. The Jewish God is available
on Saturday. The Christian God is available on Sunday. Lord Shiva is available on Monday. Hanuman is
available on Tuesday. Ganesha is available on Wednesday. Jupiter is available on Thursday.
There is one God, but you have divided that God into many, many things. In the same way, there is gold, and
many ornamentssome for the ears, some for the nose, some for the neck, some for the hands. You keep
changing God into forms because you have not yet found your form. If you find your form in oneness with the
One who gave you that form, you will not do this anymore. It will all look alike to you. Your capacity will
change, your capability will change, your sense of prosperity will change and your prospects for life will change.
There are 5,000 years of written records that there is one God who created the universe, and everything
belongs to God. In the last 5,000 years nobody has believed it. Why? Two things are dormant in you. First,
your front lobe, which brings your personality into unison. Second, your hypothalamus and thalamus are
connected but they do not work in unison. Until these two things are functioning, you will think many things,
and nothing will be true for you.
What you see in dream is not reality. What you see in imagination is not reality. What you see in your sensory
system is not reality. Your intuition tells you what reality is, and you do not want to believe it. You are not in
reality because you are a manifested personality. Only the One who manifested you knows. You do not even
know why you are sitting here, or why I am talking to you, or why you are listening to me. Know it is the flow
and interconnection of the psyche. It is called life. In life, we have been promised that our awakening will come
to us within time and space.
MEDITATION - Expand the Mind Beyond You
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Extend the forearms and hands straight forward, with the left palm face
down and the right palm face up. The elbows are bent and held relaxed at the ribcage. Eyes are focused at the tip of
the nose. Breathe very long and deepthe breath you inhale, the time you hold the breath in, and the time it takes to
exhale should be as long as possible. Continue for 11 minutes.
2. Remain in the same position and breathe deeper and deeper with self-control. Your body will start balancing itself
and that is where the expansion of your mind comes from. Continue for 11 minutes.
3. Remain in the same position and do Breath of Fire, moving the navel powerfully with the strength of your
diaphragm. Breathe consciously. Spread and regenerate the energy. Continue for 3 minutes.
To end, inhale deeply, hold, stretch the spine and squeeze the entire body. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.

Acknowledge God
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - February 12th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
You come, live, grow, and process. It is called a life of karma. In the fluctuating
wavelength of your life, you can be stuck on nothing, or on people, or on God.
Those who are stuck on nothing are in isolation. Those who are stuck on
people are processing. Those who are stuck on God reach infinity.
Whether a person is poor, middle class or rich, his pain remains the same.
Those who acknowledge Maya are hustlers. Those who acknowledge
ambiguity do not make any sense. Their horizon is not under their control.
Only those who acknowledge God are free to reach any height they choose.
Some people feel they are very important. Some people feel their environments
are very important. Some people place all importance on the Infinity of God
and Gods Kingdom.
I invited friends in Aspen, Colorado to visit me in Espanola. The wife said, In
all my life I have never left Aspen. I suggested, You are truly living up to the
name Aspen. Are you a tree? She took two hours to describe the beauty of
the town. Some peoples wheels are stuck. That is why we have meditation.
Meditation is not sitting down and closing the eyes. Meditation is seeing and reaching what is beyond the limited
self. It gives a moment of beauty and bliss, where all you have is joy. When you direct your mind to that, that is.
Your reactivity evaporates and life becomes supremely happy. Everything continues in the same way, but you
have contentment, joy, and excellence. That is dharma.
Although every human being has a chance to excel, we create our own sufferings. When we cannot flow, the
waves of life throw us on the sand bar where we sit and rot. One day I sent a present to a girl. When we met I
asked how she liked the present. She replied, I do not like it. You are just trying to impress me. I told her, I had
several presents and just gave one to you. Enjoy it. If you cannot handle this gift, then return it. The next day
she apologized but did not bring the present. She said, You gave me that present! You idiot! God gave you
presentsthis life, this body, this mind, these chakras, these gunas, and tattvas. If you are not grateful and
gracious when receiving gifts, you do not know a thing. Whatever God gives you is a present and you totally
misinterpret it. That is the curse wherein a human loses his environments, projection, destination and completion.
We can read great books and be shocked to find only a great philosophy that has been spun and spun and spun.
Everything is like cotton candy. You take a bite, there is a little taste, and that is it. Such things do not fit into the
rhythm of human life. What fits in? This meditation you are going to do today!
MEDITATION - Rip Off the Cause and Effect of Karma
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Brings the hands into Prayer Mudra in front of your chest. Eyes are closed. Chant
Sat Naam Sat Naam Sat Naam Jee, Wah-hay Guroo, Wah-hay Guroo, Wah-hay Guroo Jee with the instrumental
tape Duni, and slide the hands up and down across the mounds of the hands in rhythm with the mantra. Be constant
and consistent. Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, press the hands together as tightly as you can, and
stretch the spine upwards. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. On the last inhale move the energy from the base of the spine
to your crown and from the crown to your base 3 times. Relax.
You can do this simple meditation every day. It will rip off the evil cause and effect of your karmas by balancing
you. In the middle of the meditation you may freak out, as the rubbing of the hands kicks out your monster
energy. At that time you must classify yourself and stick with it.

It takes many acres of grass to feed a cow to produce milk. When we add a
culture to milk it becomes yogurt. When we churn yogurt it becomes
butter. When we heat butter, the cholesterol and all impurities come out and
it becomes ghee. Ghee is the purest form of grass. If a cow does not eat
grass, and if its milk is not cultured, and butter is not heated, then ghee is not
possible.
Similarly there are stages of growth in a human mind. First is to evolve to group consciousness, where you
merge with the Sadh Sangatthe holy congregation. Then is to have the touch of the master, a wise person
who adds the culture. Then time churns you, and the heat of ecstasy purifies you.
Meditation is when you force your mind to aim at something higher than yourself. A statue of Krishna is not
Krishna: is a statue! You meditate on it. It is you who, taking the guideline of that statue, become Krishna! We
are very fortunate to have the Siri Guru Granth Sahib. We churn the words of the Siri Guru Granth Sahib to
understand its meaning. It talks to us about our single and collective life. It is a meditation for us. The beauty
of that is that it does not alter its statement, whether single or collective.
Your power resides in your discipline. When you combine the elementary power of a human being with the
power of discipline, you have the power of excellence. Then you cannot be swayed by anything. Then you see
the highest self and the highest grace. A life without confirmed discipline has no foundations. Storms come and
change the atmosphere, but those who live in a solid space are unshakable.
MEDITATION - Culturing the Self
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Eyes are closed. Chant from the navel in a two and one-half breath cycle,
Ek Ong Kaar Sat Naam Siree Wah-hay Guroo (from Raga Sadhana by Sangeet Kaur & Harjinder Singh).
Continue for 11 or 31 minutes.
(Each sound of this mantra vibrates and integrates a different chakra within the aura. Take a deep inhale and
chant Ek Ong Kaar. Ek is very short, as when we split the atom, releasing a humongous amount of energy
from the first chakra. Ong is vibrated from the second chakra, resonating through the nostrils to experience the
conch of the third eye. Kaar is vibrated from the navel. Take another deep inhale and chant Sat Naam Siree.
Sat is short, coming abruptly from the navel, pulling up the diaphragm. Naam is very long and resonates through
the heart. Siree, the greatest of all the great powers the Shaktiis chanted with the last bit of breath. It is
pulled from the navel and up through the neck lock. Then take a short half breath and chant Wah-hay Guroo.
Wah-hay and Guroo are released through the top of the head.)
2. Chant from the navel, Sat Naam Sat Naam, Wah-hay Guroo Wah-hay Guroo (Sat Nam Wahe Guru by
Jagjit Singh). Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and meditatively recollect the sound you were
chanting. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.
In the first part of the meditation we break the atom to release power: we break the words, using the length
of the breath, and we align the chakras. The central nervous system is involved. In the second part of the
meditation we practice Bhakti, devotional chanting. It is most powerful when we chant and listen to our sound
at the same time. If we only chant it has only half the power. Chanting and listening to the chant at the same
time engages the higher consciousness, the circulatory system and the nervous system.
When you develop this listening power, you will be able to analyze what is good for you and what is not
whenever another person talks. It is a very simple way to have knowledge. I hope you practice it.

Discipline
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - February 19th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
A student once asked his teacher to show him the cycle of life. The teacher took
the student to the ocean and asked, Do you see the waves, and the sun shining
on the ocean, causing the water to go up? I only see the waves coming from
the ocean to the shore! Concentrate! See how the water rises up, becomes
clouds, touches the top of the mountain, becomes rain and returns to the land,
to the same shore.
Some people elevate themselves above the attachment of the earth. They bring prosperity to the earth and greenery
to the same shore from which they have gone. Lift yourself higher and higher, with your chakras open and working
in unison. The higher you go, the vaster your horizon will become.
Most people do not understand the value of self-discipline. It is like having a car with no brakes and no steering wheel
and believing you are driving! Life does not mean anything if you have not enjoyed it. Many people have the capacity,
intelligence, privilege, environments and stature in life, but they do not enjoy self-discipline. They are wandering
within themselves. The tragedy is that when you die, the self, which is wandering within you, starts wandering
around the planet.
To you, spirituality means to be a Christian, a Jew, a Muslim, a Sikh or a Buddhist. You have divided everything! You
cannot live united because you cannot live united within yourself! We breathe the same air, live the same way and have
the same feelings. The difference is that, with all the turmoil, one can have self-control, and one not. One is disciplined
and the other is wild. Everything you do is of that wilderness, because you do not have control of your energy.
You have a promise to your destiny: To be disciplined to its process. You are not seeking anything from me and I am
not giving you anything. We have very deep promises made between our souls and ourselves. Prana was given to
us, and our bodies were given to us to execute that prana. Our relationship with ourselves is not through our physical
body; it is through our psyche. Those who lean on that psyche will grow in discipline. There is only one relationship
between a master and a disciplea disciple would like to affectionately surpass the master. We have a natural
instinct to follow the heights. You need a thirst to reach that height. For that thirst you need discipline.
A student said, I have no sense of satisfaction although I have been doing sadhana for 20 years! Not 20 lives? 20
years of sadhana is nothing! Some students who have 2000 years of sadhana are still here! Sadhana gives you the
way to conquer life. It is your humility which gives you discipline, for humility makes you flexible. We have such
blindness that we do not know how to be grateful. The purpose of life is to be grateful. The purpose of our discipline
is to bring the grace and greatness of God into our inner thoughts. The strength of life is not what you think it is.
The strength of life is life itself.
You feel happy when you can give something. When you give yourself discipline and your discipline gives hope to
somebody, therein lies real happiness.
MEDITATION - Hust Kriya
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Raise the arms to shoulder height, parallel to the floor and bend the elbows so that
the hands are in front of your chest, palms facing down, right over left, 1 to 2 inches apart. Eyes are closed. Mentally chant
the mantra, Sat Naam, Sat Naam, Sat Naam Jee, Wah-hay, Wah-hay Guroo, Wah-hay Guroo Jee with the
instrumental tape Duni. Breathe very long and deep: Three complete repetitions of the mantra for each breath cycle
(inhale, hold, exhale). Continue for 11or 31 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold the breath and squeeze every muscle of the
body. Exhale. Repeat 1 time. Then inhale deeply, hold the breath and make your hands like steel, with all your force focused
on the gap between them. Exhale and relax.
During the meditation it is possible that your elbows or upper arms will start hurting. This indicates that the central
nervous system is weak. Breathe to compensate; it will give you strength, and the pain will disappear. Be steady. Let
your central nervous system access the energy of the central nerve to give you strength. Let the rhythm of your
breath give you enough prana. See whether you are in control or your body is in control. If your body is in control
you will give up. If you are in control you will have the feeling of elevation.
If you practice Hust Kriya every day for 11 minutes you will be a different person. If the balance of the hands is correct
your brain will balance itself; if the breath is balanced your consciousness will balance itself with the universe.

Patience
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - February 20th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
Things do not always go according to plan. When you plan everything and
God does not plan for you, you are right in the ditch. There are two ways to
go: either you do it, or you let God do it.
A man rented a horse to ride to a temple on a mountain. One person lead the
horse on foot. When he kicked the horse, the man on foot said, For Gods
sake, stop! It doesnt work that way. He replied, I cannot tolerate your
walking so slowly! And he took off with the horse. After a while the horse stopped abruptly at a 1000-foot drop.
The rider rolled off the side and fell into the ditch, breaking almost every bone in his body. When the man who
rented him the horse arrived, he said, Didnt I tell you it wouldnt work? The road to the temple is very steep.
Horses cannot survive. You should have let me lead the horse and followed the journey.
In life, if you do not have patience for your own selfpatience whereby nothing can move youyou have
nothing.
Someone became abusive and started provoking a man reading a Newspaper. The man ignored him. The abuser
started jumping up and down until he fell on the floor, badly hurt. The man said, I have one more page to read.
Please take him to the hospital. He was consuming himself!
You consume your good luck, you consume your destiny, you consume your dignity, and you consume the gift
of Godthe prana of life. And then you blame others for it! As a human being you are complete. Follow the path
of grace with patience and self-control.
You have nine gates. Watch what comes in and what goes out. A person who accommodates himself in this way
is accommodated. God will forgive you, but Mother Nature will never forgive you. Even God cannot cross this
law of Mother Nature, What you do will be done to you. Every action has a reaction, equal and opposite.
When you die the you leaves. Your body is there, your money is in the bank, relatives are still there, and the phone
is still there. Your boyfriend can call, Hi honey, but you will not be there to answer. Honey has gone out. Nanak
said, I have nothing, my Lord, all belongs to You. That is the real freedom. Through it you will have services,
palaces and all comforts. Infinity will give you the virtues and values of Infinity in finite form. Self-realization and
self-reliance become a way of life.
MEDITATION - Healing with the Breath of Life
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Pull the chin towards your chest, locking the neck in Jalandhara Bandh. Fold the
arms across the chest, right over left, and place the hands on the sides of the ribs under the armpits. Concentrate on the
breath of life with pure sentiments. Make an o of your mouth, inhale deeply through it, and exhale through the nose.
Continue for 11 or 31 minutes. During the last 2 minutes chant slowly and melodiously, Raa Maa Daa Saa, Saa Say
So Hung ( Ra Ma Da Sa by Gurnam). Heal yourself. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and apply all your pressure to
squeeze the body and spine. Exhale. Repeat two more times. Relax.
There is nothing more powerful than your own breath of life. Simply act in a way to realize and use it for your
own expansion. Do not only meditate when you come to this class. Be a class by your own right.
Be self-conscious and find your grace. That way you will have beauty, bounty and bliss. May your journey complete
its way to your destiny. And may you understand the preciousness of your own life. Do not ask people to praise you.
Praise yourself. And praise the Lord who made you so beautiful, bountiful and blissful. Sat Nam.

A Split Second
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - February 25th, 2001 - Los Angeles, CA, USA
How many of you understand the meaning of split second? If you cannot
change your mood and intuitive projection in a split second, then you are not
human. If you know what a thought entails the moment it comes to you, and
respond to it with the same frequency in a split second, then you are a normal
human being. An excellent human being will respond to it from its point of origin.
This capability is developed through the science of yoga.
You can tell a persons fortune by their hairstyle. How they comb and layer their hair tells the nature of their
brainwaves, and brainwaves affect the personality. You may know a person and what he is up to, just by sight! But
instead of seizing that split second, you take hours, days, you engage in the web of games, becoming dissatisfied,
frustrated and angry.
Take time for you. You may get one massage a month. But you do not have the time to massage yourself every day?
You do not even have time to sit in a tub of water for half an hour and do Breath of Fire to balance your body.
Sometimes you eat while you walk! You have no time for sex without checking your watch! That is how life has
become. Our whole life is constipated, and not just one hole!
We like to have friends. In reality, we are social because we are afraid to be alone. We think we share great
communication, but Hi, Hi! does not mean anything. Sexual activity does not have the reality of a relationship.
It is a feeling of intimacy and an exchange of saliva initiated by that loneliness. A woman cannot walk tall until she is
the identity, and no man acknowledges it until he is the identity. That is the reality of our life. We hear what we want
to hear, say what we want to say, and feel what we feel. When we are inflexible, life is brittle. We must be able to
change the gears of our mood, mind and metabolism in a split second.
Through the science of yoga it was realized thousands of years ago that when someone was off base, their glandular
system did not secrete properly, therefore their blood stream did not contain the full mixture of glandular secretions
to service the organs. Yogis sleep at night very restfully, calmly and appreciatively. Early in the morning they get up,
do cat stretch, and take a cold shower, massaging their body until they feel warm. Is that insanity? No! Yogis of old
wanted their blood to return to their organs with the full chemical reactions of their glandular system. Living in the
jungle they had to be alert and real every moment of the day, so that in a split second they could know what was in
their surroundings, knowing with one wrong step they could be dead.
From jungle life we have come to coffee life. You get up in the morning when you hear the coffee pot whistling! You
need coffee to regain your high. But that is not what you are made for. You need all your senses to work together
and all twelve glands to work together, for your process and projection to work together. You must know you,
together.
MEDITATION - Self-Renewal
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Raise the arms to shoulder height, parallel to the floor, and bend the elbows so that the
hands are in front of your chest, palms facing down, right over left, 4 inches apart. Eyes are closed. Breathe long and deeply,
inhaling through the o of the mouth, and exhaling through the nose. Use the diaphragm, the power of Udayana Bandh.
Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and squeeze the spine. Exhale. Inhale deeply, hold, and squeeze your
elbows as much as you can. Exhale. Inhale deeply, hold, pull the chin in and make the neck tight like steel. Exhale and relax.
You have a faculty to remodel and rebuild yourself. This meditation consolidates all of your faculties and facets to
give you a new start. Breath by breath consciously reconstitute and empower your Self, as drop by drop you bring
the flood. Concentrate deeply and sit like a yogi. The posture will guide your tattvas, the breathing will guide your
life force: if you concentrate it will bring your glandular system into new working order.
After a while your body will not be in a position to handle the energy it is creating. Therefore you must concentrate
and apply yourself. Breathe with full strength to hit your hidden disease and eliminate it. Ease your existence and
body pain. Put your energy on a new route. Concentrate. Join your energy with the Source! Expand your horizon
and your focal point. There is no love without sacrifice and there is no sacrifice without love. Hold the posture
steady and let the changes happen.

When life comes to a stage of I dont know! it is a misplacement of the vibratory effect of the brain. It has
been shown scientifically that the left and the right hemispheres of the brain do not actively inter-relate.
That is why there are troubles in your lives. Your trouble is that you are not yourself.
It is to reach a stage where you do not have to reach anywhere, but a stage that everybody can reach. That
is love! That is yoga! My hope is that you will all grow to the point that you become teachers by your own
right, so that beauty will have new meaning for you. As one candle lights another, you will feel not only
beautiful yourself, but your very touch will bring beauty into another person. That is elevation.
When you are young and sexy you need a relationship. A girl needs a boy and a boy needs a girl. Dont you
understand? You need yourself first! To complete the cycle, a boy needs the boy within himself and a girl
needs the girl within herself. When you are not yourself and you do things you are not supposed to do, there
are a lot of problems.
Yoga is a union within ones self. Walk tall, gracefully, and with self-respect. Give yourself a chance! Trust
God, who made you. Trust that the Perfect made you perfect. Some yoga teachers tell their students, You
are totally wrong! Psychiatrists brand you as having this depression or that depression. Who does not have
depression? Everybody has depression! When you do not create an impression, you have depression.
The other day I touched a persons hand. Today I got a phone call. I have to see you, Im healed! I replied,
That was the purpose. What is the idea of coming to see me now and wasting your time? Its raining. Get
into bed!
We are Mahan Tantric people. We mend auras. We do not do the things that people want done. All they
have to do is speak a few words, because, the Word is with God and the Word is God and the moment
they speak, their arcline will show the handicap. Then we stitch it and send them home. Although I have a
degree in psychology, I do not practice psychology. I do not have a bench where you lay down with a pillow
and after 45 minutes of listening say, The session's over, see you next week! In our system a person comes
in, sits down, looks around and says a few words. They do not need to speak much. Their arcline speaks!
When there is a gap in the arcline it means the energy is not flowing and something is wrong. We get straight
to it, and the job is done.
The body is a harmoniously running clock. Sometimes you are relaxed, sometimes you are depressed,
sometimes you are upset, sometimes you are set up, sometimes you are angry, and sometimes you are sad.
It is all part of life. It is not written in the book of life that you should be happy all of the time. If so, life would
have no meaning. It is enjoyable to be in pain and suffering, and to come out of it through your will.
May your spirit bless you, may your prosperity decorate you, may your grace become your ability to help and
serve others, and may your richness of heart make you share things with each other. May your conscience be clear,
and in that clarity may you find that you are the Light of God. Sat Nam.

Learn to Love
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - March 1st, 2001 - Los Angeles, CA, USA
You have been told for thousands of years, that happiness occurs when things are wonderful. Lies! You are
happy when life is at is worst and you go through it. What is the life for a person without challenges? When
there is adversity, and nothing works, meditatively concentrate, excel and say, Wow! I made it!
The most unloved people of the sixties are now successful. They run the government. They own everything.
When an era of calamity comes in your life, cut through it against your own animosity. Excel against your own
negativity and become prosperous.
People used to help each other. We do not have that kind of courtesy anymore. In the seventies, you could raise
a thumb and go across the United States. Things have changed. Without talking, saying anything or agreeing
to anything, there is a death-like spell of fear. There are eleven years before the Age of Aquarius comes. Things
will happen that cannot be predicted and people will shatter. We are doing our best to develop the sixth sense,
the intuitive sensory system in the human.
We have come together for many lifetimes by the flow of psyche for each other. We have been here before,
we are here now and we will be here again. We have to complete ourselves. We have to consciously raise
ourselves to our higher selves. That is a deeper friendship, a deeper love and a deeper acknowledgment than
we have ever known.
Somebody was telling me, I want to divorce my wife. I said, Divorce her? If you divorce her, you will fall in
love with somebody else and divorce again. Habits do not go away. What should I do? Learn to love!
Nature, time and patience are the three greatest healers.
Whatever exists on this planet exists in our cells. Learn how to love! Do not just satisfy your passions and think
that you are in love. Remember, when you are in love you do not feel pain, you only feel pain when you are
not in love. Wherever you live, psyches criss-cross. If you want to fall in love, fall in love with something with
which your psyche communicates, not anything else.
Love is first sight. You saw, you surrendered, and then you were in ecstasy. If you cannot find that kind of love,
do not imagine things and fall in love. In the end you will see that the polish is gone and the copper has come
out, and you have wasted a beautiful part of life.
Learn how to love! Learn how to start loving! Love nature first. Second, love your nature. Third, love those
who are in love. Fourth, do not ask your head whether you are in love or not, ask your heart. And fifth, if you
do not know how to sacrifice everything, body, mind and soul, do not use the word love, because love is the
ultimate manifestation of Almighty God, the Infinite Lord. Love is an art and a science, and the best part of
the human.
May your words have projective power, may your face shine like the moon, may your body radiate like the sun, may
your brightness be acknowledged by every human being and may every living creature feel the peace and tranquility
that you bring to those whom you touch, feel, speak to and befriend. May you learn all the faculties of Godtotality,
reality, infinity, kindness and compassion. May your prosperity shine through you to serve those who are in need and
may you extend your hand of friendship to those who are lonely. May your essence flow, may you be recognized by
your best qualities, wonderful manners and your livelihood. May this day bring you all these blessings, plus more, so
you can live healthy, happy and holy. May your nine holes be under your control. And may you give your heart to that
one who is like God to you, so you can find your infinity forever. Sat Nam.

Concepts
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - March 5th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
When you try to see and experience existence, you develop concepts about what existence is. You develop
concepts for every aspect of life, you even brand people, saying, This is a black man, this is a white man, this is
a Mexican, this is a Hawaiian When you see somebody, it first excites your curiosity to know each other.
Then you develop the concept of intimacy, then the concept of being together and then of possessing each other.
And when you possess each other you want it to last forever. You want everything in life to be this way.
Some people call God, Brahmathe Creator; some call God, Vishnuthe Sustainer; some call God, Shiva
the Eliminator. Not satisfied with three main deities another one was created , Durgawhich contains all three.
These concepts arose from our necessity. We want to base our knowledge on musical, rhythmical and settled
concepts. We call God all different names, but He is the flow of existence. God is a self-creative, self-created and
self-creating energy.
While constructing a gateway to the Mother Ashram in Espanola, we made a hollow in the wall for a statue of
Baba Siri Chand. Mexican laborers working nearby asked, What is this? They were told, It is a statue of a yogi
who grants every wish. The next day we saw flowers on the statue, and the day after we saw even more flowers.
I asked one man, Why are you bringing these garlands? He answered, I made it with love, and now my wife is
so good to me, I am grateful. It was his concept that this guy who gives everything would help him.
As a human you should always be prosperous, happy and gracious. Why are you not? Because your concept goes
wrong. When your me, me becomes big, Thou eliminates Its Self.
My father was going on a pony to visit a patient. It was to be a few days journey through a heavy blizzard. I told
him, Papa, the man might have died by now. What are you going for? He looked at me and said, They have
sent for me. Im a doctor. Im not a human now. We thought, The patient will die and so will the doctor. He
cannot make it through this heavy wind and snow on a pony! But he made it. He treated the person, the person
got well, and he came home two days later. That was his concept of a doctor; a doctor is not the ultimate, he is
only the means. When you are a doctor with a sick patient, God is near you.
You add concepts of how gentle, kind and smiling you are to your human concept. These facets make you feel
blessed. People who are crude and reactive forget the wholesomeness of God. God is the Whole Sum. God is
how much positivity you create. Your demon is how much negativity you create. Our inner nature is God, but it
becomes a demon when we allow it to shrink us. As oil floats to the surface and covers water, our plus concepts
cover our negativity.
The Shabad Guru, the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, becomes the Guru because of its inherent concept: One who
recites it churns their tongue over the upper palate, stimulating the hypothalamus and thalamus, creating a
chemical environment in the brain whereby the deeper wisdom is understood. When I was a child our village
would go on horses and bullock carts to Nankana Sahib to celebrate Guru Nanaks birthday. When one person
would sing, the entire gathering would sing, and we never got tired. Spiritual melody is for your own conception.
Your act of doing is important, not what you know about it. You have to practice and experience.
Our life is determined by our plus actions. Once a person went before God and the God of Judgment stood up
saying, You are most welcome, please, get into heaven as fast as you can. The man replied, I never did a good
thing. Why am I going to heaven? I cant send you to hell! You would do what you did on earth, and everybody
in hell would end up in heaven. We dont have enough accommodations here! What did I do? You just smiled
and blessed everybody and made everybody happy. You are a most deserving person to enter heaven.
When you live in your innocence you are well behaved. When you live in your head you behave poorly. We have
come into this life to live, not to possess, push and control. What is that light when from one candle, another
candle cannot burn? Let us change our behavior gradually, through our heart.

They say that anger is the cause of cancer. When you are angry your entire
energy consolidates into the wavelength of that angry thought, you stay in
anger perpetually. Your anger takes away nourishment from your body, takes
away heat from your stomach and energy from your blood circulation. If you
realize the cost you pay for one moment of anger, you would never become
angry.
You feel that you must hassle, work, and plan or you will die in poverty. Because of fear you wonder who will
feed you, protect you, and take care of you. Who cared for you when you were an infant? You are taken care
of when you flow with the natural flow of energy. When you understand that you are part of the universe and
the universe is part of you, you will be social, smiling, laughing and welcoming everybody. People will trust you
and listen to you. You do not need to give them anything. Let them see that you are you. The surroundings
will start giving you energy, and opportunities will come your way. First you see single opportunities for you,
then collective and finally universal opportunities. You will have no limits, and no reason to be angry.
Sometimes our anger puts us into firm isolation. People come and talk to us, and we do not care. Man is a
social animal: Without society, without encirclement, we cannot survive. Even our sun and the mightiest stars
move on their orbits. We age from moment to moment. As the body grows and changes, the mind must
develop equally. We are stuck in duality because our concept and our projection are not the same. The purpose
of rising early in the morning and meditating, saying Hello to everybody, is simple: We encourage ourselves,
just as the sun shines in the morning. It is definite in our life that we should shine.
You are born on earth to realize the heavens. Develop your mind correlative to your body, find and understand
the innocence of that child which is you, and with the strength of your lifes projection of growth, touch the
heavens! Why do you want to trust in the known, thinking it is permanent? It is not permanent! The only thing
permanent is the Unknown. You live in the middle of this criss-cross between the known and Unknown.
Remember that the Cosmos is your Ultimate Friend. Just do not forget: It is forgetfulness which brings us to
a lot of anger; we forget the vastness of our Creator.
Do you ever recall that you were once a crawling child? If you cannot produce that crawling child within
yourself, in your meditation, you will not be able to recall the Almighty God. They say, Know thyself. Know
thyself when you were an innocent child, when all you could do was smile and cry and everything was done
for you. Everything will be done for you when you see that child in you and confirm your innocence.
MEDITATION - Recall Your Inner Innocence
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Tuck the left hand flat under the right armpit with the thumb outside. Raise the
left arm straight forward at a 60 degree angle, palm facing down, fingers together. Close the eyes or look at the tip of
the nose. Do Breath of Fire through a pursed mouth. Without singing, use the breath to chant the mantra Har, Har,
Har, Har (Tantric Har by Simran Kaur and Guru Prem Singh). Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply,
hold and stretch the body and spine, bring yourself to your entire self-conscious knowledge, from the tips of the fingers
to the tips of your toes. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.
This meditation will make you so beautiful, you cant believe it! A flower that does not blossom cannot have
fragrance. A person who is not happy cannot join society. A person who cannot serve cannot have friendship.

Reach Out!
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - March 20th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
Some people are not covered with skin; they are covered with ego! They are so
well isolated that then have no friends, no God, no surroundingsnothing but
ego. They prevent everything from entering, for they are not humble enough to
allow things to come in. That is how they survive.
No one wants to do wrong. Everybody wants to be good, but being good takes discipline! Take the time to teach
your child the pros and cons, and manners, and values. Parents presume that children know it all. Children know it
all, but are begging, requesting, Please make us better. Please help us! You let them go like baby birds, taken from
their nest and made to fly.
Some people have no roots. They talk and there is no juice. They punish themselves with isolation and looking down
on others. I once told a gentleman, You are good. Just learn one thingdo not take it for granted that people will
respect you. Be in a position to communicate with others and not isolate yourself. With all goodness of the heart,
his isolation was killing his whole dream of tomorrow.
Those who care are forklifts; they uplift other people and spend time with them. It is important to be social, kind
and compassionate, even to those who do not deserve it. Those who cannot reach out, have no way to grow up!
They forget that their cells live and die everyday. They forget that everyday we are new people dealing with new
people. That is why man is a social animal.
Our whole essence is discipline. The highest point of discipline is to be in love with others and carry them, with your
head and your heart. If you cannot be friendly, if you are indifferent, no matter who you are or who supports you,
you will not be able to sustain yourself. People who are uptight and indifferent in society are dead for that society.
They commit crimes against their own personality and identity, and they have not learned humility and grace; they
do not give themselves a chance! There is a humungous infinity available all the time. Reach out and touch people!
Do not count their faults. Start counting the ways you can help them. Let your nature be helpful! You will build
compassion, character, dignity, divinity, grace, power to sacrifice and happiness.
While living in Toronto, I saw a man fall into the snow. I got up and pulled him out. Somehow I got him to the corner
of the road and made a phone call. An ambulance came and took him away. Two weeks later I received an
invitation, You are requested to visit the Director of Planning and Human Resources. Someone said to me, He
is the most powerful man in Canadahe can do more than the prime minister can do! When I met him, he stood
up from his chair and said, Welcome, angel. Please sit down. It was the same man who had fallen into the snow.
For as long as I lived in Canada, whenever I needed anything, he gave 100% to see that it was done. That is my
special person. Please take care of it. That is how it works.
One day on a long journey we ran out of gas. The car stopped. Soon a huge gasoline truck parked on the side of
the road. After filling our tank the truck driver said, There is no charge; I am not a company driver, Im a private
driver. In this area, you wont find a gas station for miles and miles. It was many years ago, but I still remember that
greatness. I still remember that touch. I still remember that help. I still remember that kindness. Nothing can match
it. Stop for a moment and look around, see if you can help somebody!
Remember that you are just a bunch of molecules and cells and that the life of your cells is only 72 hours. In 72
hours a person totally changes. Sit and meditate, let your blood flow through areas of discomfort and disease. You
can be treated. You can solve problems by provoking your higher self.
MEDITATION - Provoke Your Higher Self
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Interlock your hands in Venus Lock in front of the heart center, with the thumbs
crossed so that you are locking your ego represented by the thumbs. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are closed. Chant the
mantra, Har, Har, Har, Har (Tantric Har by Simran Kaur and Guru Prem Singh), powerfully vibrate the hands up
and down 11 times on each Har. Continue for 31 minutes. During the last three minutes move so fast that you feel it in
the spine. To end, inhale deeply, hold it tight. Exhale. Repeat one more time. Then inhale deeply, hold, and flex your spine
3 times. Exhale and relax.

Does anyone remember the basic movement of their own origin? The basic
movement of our origin is the movement of a spermatozoa going around an
egg eight times and then penetrating it. The influence of this basic
movement is forever with us, that is why we cannot be straight by nature.
We do not have basic originality because we forget our basic origins and original movement,. We create mental
originality and movement based on ego. We become unhappy, unprosperous, worried and competitive. We
curse. We subject ourselves to time and space. When time rubs off our polish, underneath is the same confused
person who never straightened out his life.
In God we trust is a lie we use to prove we are spiritual and happy. Instead of proving something, give that
same energy to yourself and your reality! God will enter in, and you will become great. God has sent you as a
special manifested self, with all the breaths of life. Every word you speak is empowered by the breath of life,
which is God in you. With each breath you can change and become real. And God believes in that reality. He
knows you go this way and that. He knows you do not trust Him, see Him or feel Him. But He wants to give
you the opportunity to go through destiny and distance to reach your destination.
A saint visited the house of a prostitute and he meditated all night. In the morning, the lady came and asked,
You have blessed me by coming here. What can I do to reach Nirvana? The saint said, Get a talking parrot
and teach him to chant Ram, Ram, Ram, Ram By teaching the parrot to chant, all her chakras began
opening up slowly. People came just to talk to her. She became wiser and wiser and wiser. It took seven years
to teach the parrot to chant Ram, Ram, Ram When her last breath came, she brought the parrot to her
bedside and started feeding him chanting Ram, Ram, Ram
Some friends saw angels come and take her soul. They complained to God, How could she go to heaven?
She only knew to feed the parrot? God replied, Her chanting Ram made me into a parrot. That is why I took
her earlyI could not remain a parrot. The whole town came to pay their respects. People became elevated
as they carried her in the funeral procession. People said, How could we become so elevated by carrying her
dead body? God appeared and said, This body has become precious. Love of Ram is in every fiber of it.
You cater to people who are rich, wonderful or powerful. You need to cater to the One who created great
people! Known and Unknown are within you. It can never change. When you live in your ego the Hand of
God will not support you. The mind has three ways it can benegative, neutral and positive. By your negative
mind you will drown, but by your positive mind you will excel.
MEDITATION - Guru Kriya From I to Thou
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Cross the right hand over the left hand, creating a triangle in front of the
heart center, forearms parallel to the ground, both palms facing down. Eyes are closed. Do Long and Deep Breathing
listening to the mantra Wah-hay Guroo, Wah-hay Jeeo (from Raga Sadhana by Sangeet Kaur and Harjinder
Singh). Continue for 8 minutes.
2. Chant the mantra, Humee Hum Brahm Hum by Nirinjan Kaur). Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply,
hold, exhale. Inhale deeply, hold, recharge your body and exhale. Inhale deeply, hold, and stretch your body, tighten
every part of it. Exhale and relax.
Humee Hum Brahm Hum, when we are we, then we are God. So long as there is I, there is ego and the third
eye will never open. From I we have to become we, and from we, seeing God in all, it is very easy to become
Thou.

We plant a rose cutting in the ground, by spring it sprouts, and one day it
becomes a beautiful rose plant! We are that little stick taken from a rose
plant, a little I, from which beautiful flowers may come, and whose scent
and color are wonderful. As we extract rose oil from rose petals, whose
fragrance can reach for miles, we flourish in consciousness from I to we, and
from we to Thou.
We are brought to this planet to be better than the angels, who worship the human body, because without one
they remain only angels. Yet, when you are young, your energy and love are lost on love affairs. A finite being
cannot love a finite being. You must love the infinity of another person. Then you will need no rituals for living;
you will already be above it.
Love in this country is an obsession. When you love and are possessed by the love of another person, there is
no determination to face reality. Everything is based on impressions. Where there is an impression, there is no
compassion, there is just passion. Wars, strife and perversions are all from a lack of compassion. You waste so
many breaths on passion. The same breath used with compassion will elevate you to be like sunshine.
It is good to do Sadhana. To reach Prabhupati you must be as the Lord God Master who created you. As God
is Infinite, you are the one who brings that infinity out! When you cannot touch infinity and you remain finite,
everything is useless.
You can be beautiful because someone finds you beautiful, or because everyone finds you beautiful. Yet, when
your own infinity finds you beautiful, your sight, touch and words will penetrate and beautify everybody. By
your touch, another light is born. You will be like a burning candle sharing its light with others, a candle that
can light many candles. Otherwise a candle is just thread and wax. Blossom like the Queen of the Night, the rose
bush whose fragrance is so sweet and beautiful, which goes for a long distance and is never forgotten Create
the flowery fragrance of your life, so you do not waste your life!
When two people meet they have passion. Their love is real. But love always gives suffering. Love and suffering
are the same thing, and you cannot complain in love. Reality, tolerance and courage come out of loves suffering.
It is the rose plant out of which a new shoot comes. Yet, if two cannot become one, their individual egos rub
each other to the point of diversion. As their passion slows down, one starts walking North and one goes South.
Our life is like a little stick, a cutting taken from a rose plant, that can be put in the earth, so it may sprout in
springtime, and one day bear fragrant flowers. Some fragrances become permanent, like rose oil, which can
make you feel like you are in a rose garden. Please, make your life useful! To be useful you must be grateful, great
and full. Until you become great, you cannot become full. Knowledge left unpracticed is useless. You know
what to do, practice it
MEDITATION - Break Through!
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Raise both arms to 60 degree angles, palms facing forwards. Bend the fingers,
so that the fingertips touch the mounds at the top of the palms, thumbs are stretched towards each other. Eyes are
closed. When the fingers touch the mounds you will be complete within yourself. Pull the arms out of their sockets!
Look deep inside, to the navel from where you chant the mantra, Wah-hay Guroo, Wah-hay Jeeo. (from Raga
Sadhana by Sangeet Kaur and Harjinder Singh). Continue for 11 or 31 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold and
stretch from the shoulders so much that you can lift your body. Exhale. Repeat two more times. Relax.

Man - tra is the vibration of the mind that coordinates with the universe,
and each mantra has a way of being recited. A million people may chant
Ram, but if it is not chanted from the navel, it will not have any effect. If, by
chanting mantras and doing yoga, you just become a good Christian, Hindu
or Muslim, you have wasted a lifetime. If, by chanting mantras and doing
yoga, you have conquered your spirit and re-emerged in the Infinite Spirit,
you have achieved something.
You are born very pure and innocent. That is all you ever need to be. Every
development around you is Natures gift, and Nature will never let you
down. But your friends and everyone around you tell you to grow up and
you forget you are a child. Mantras give mental frequencies that enable us
to feel we have been born innocent. We must retain our inner child and
innocence, and never fall victim to poverty, indignity or disrespect.
MEDITATION - Purity of Speech
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Hold your hands in Sarab Shuni Mudra in
front of the heart centerfingers interlocked with the Saturn (middle) fingers
extended up and thumbs crossed. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are closed.
Chant the mantra, Bolo Raam, Bolo Raam, Bolo Raam, Raam Raam, pulling
in the navel on the word Raam. Continue for 3 to 11 minutes. To end, inhale
deeply, hold and pump the navel powerfully for as long as you can. Let your body
adjust and take care of your health. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.
Raam means God Everywhere. Bolo means Thou shall speak. When you chant Bolo Raam you are
asking for a purer form of speech. When you speak Bolo Raam, hear Bolo Raam and see that Bolo Raam
is everywhere in everything, then everything comes to serve you.
Whenever your psyche is not behind you, you end up being ridiculed. It is like letting a car go downhill without
gas, gears or controlling power. The car will crash somewhere. No one wants a life like that. You want to make
your life purposeful and meaningful. You need the power to tolerate and endure so you may drive in the lane
of life where you are safe, which keeps the child and innocence in you alive.
When your psyche is behind you, you are happy and powerful. When it is not behind you, you are sadyour
transmission is not working right, your gears are stuck! Get up early in the morning and take a cold shower:
Cause the glands to secrete and change your chemistry, then sit down and let everything circulate. You will
regain flexibility and benefit body, mind and soul the whole day.
MEDITATION - Pick Me Up
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Grip your hands together, right palm over left. Eyes are closed. Chant the Maha
Mrityunjai Mantra by Alka Yagnik, (Om Tri-ambakham Yaajaa Mahay, Sugandheem Pushteevaadhaanan,
Oorvaarookamiv Bandhanaat, Mrityor Mukhshee-aa Maamrootaat). Continue for 11 minutes divided equally into
three parts. In the first part bring the hands in front of the heart center, with elbows relaxed down. In the second part
very slowly raise your hands until they are stretched up over your head, then very slowly lower them back in front of
the heart center (2 times). In the third part very slowly raise your hands until they are stretched up over your head and
keep them pulled up tightly. To end, inhale deeply, hold and pull up the arms. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.
Whenever you feel you are in trouble or feel very weak, lock your hands in this mudra and pull them up.

You know each other, because you were all born in the same time and space
as a batch of the third millennium. No matter where we livewe have all
come to the planet Earth. You know that you are here. Do you accept that
everyone knows everyone? Do you ever go up to someone and say Hi, you
are here, I am here! without knowing the persons name? Whenever dealing
with people, remember you are here along with everyone else all of the time.
People try to look different from each other, talk differently, be different and
have different ethics and morals. We have a tendency to see other people as
different from uswhether they are black, brown, yellow, Indian, African
or Chinese. It is in our nature. Thousands of years of education have not
solved this problem. If we do not prove we are different, then we like to
prove we are special. We create minorities and majorities, trends and values.
It is actually our ingrown habit to be virtuously hateful. And we are hateful
because we are not grateful. We think that if someone gets something that
we do not have, it is our loss.
Our primary, fundamental behavior should be that we were born at this time
and space for a purpose which we are trying to discover. We need tolerance.
We need patience. We need courage. We do not have these traits because
we have not developed ourselves. We have neither manners nor time! We
do not have time and we do not have space, so we all want to be different
and, worst of all, we want others to feel that we are different.
Man has divided his consciousness to suit his individuality so he can create a group and become powerful.
Nobody wants to come together for living. We have lived divided from day one. If nobody divides us, we divide
ourselves. Why do we not divide ourselves into one divisionthat we are all One, and there are no two among
us? In the unison of nature we can bring our molecules of life together and understand our own reality.
MEDITATION - Division and Oneness
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Raise both hands to shoulder level with the elbows relaxed down. Point the
index fingers up and the other fingers curled down with thumbs covering them. Eyes are closed. Breathe in and out
consciously and forcefully, inhaling as deeply as possible and exhaling as powerfully as you can. Be calm and quiet.
Fight your thoughts and no-thoughts. Hear nothing, see nothing, think nothing. Become Shuniya. Merge into the
rhythm of the universe. With the power of breath take out the violence that separates you from each other. Continue
for 11 minutes.
2. Hold hands with your neighbors on each side, creating a common ring of people. Do relaxed Long Deep Breathing.
Let energy flow. Continue for 3 minutes. To end, continue to hold hands and sing the Long Time Sunshine song,
then chant long Sat Nam 3 times. Relax.
May you all be blessed, blessed and blessed. And the most powerful thing with you--may you bless yourself
in yourself, for yourself, from here to Infinity.

Impact
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - April 18th, 2001 - Los Angeles, CA, USA
Are you aware how important your impact is? Without impact you do not exist.
Without impact you are faceless. If every person could understand the impact of
their words, plans and actions there would be no problems in the world. When
you act, you must understand that you are part of the collective and the
collective is part of you. When you can experience that you are part of the
collective and the collective is part of you, you are marvelous, beautiful, bountiful
and precious.
Guru Nanak said, When you are born you want milk, then you want friends, sex, position, and to make an
impression. Finally you become old and you want nothing. You came from Nothing and you know the time has
come for you to return to Nothing. One who becomes nothing has everything. One who has everything has
nothing. This is a cosmic law that cannot be changed. Before coming here I was telling myself, I have to attend a
class. Get up! I was calling on Nothing in me, because if Nothing in me does not become something, there is
nothing to teach and nothing to listen. There has to be an impact, a penetration and a conception.
When I was in Mexico a lady said, I hate black people! I said, As you hate black people, in the next life you will be
born as a black person. Are you sure? Why? It is part of the collective. The part you hate is the part you must go
through. But I dont want to hate them! It is not your prerogative. You have not had the impact of being loved. So
you have to hate somebody--black people, cats, dogs
Some people do not like cats, some do not like dogs, some do not like spaghetti, some do not like salad. What can you
tell these people? They do not know! What is the idea of having libraries full of books, colleges and universities, when
you do not know why you do not like salad? What is the idea of your existence? You forget that you are a part of the
whole and the whole is a part of you. If you do not meditate to have control over your mind and your mind does not
obey you, and you do not understand that being holy means controlling what goes in and out of your nine holes, you
must work the whole thing out. You are like the worm in the silk cocoon. Until you have been put in hot water and
boiled, you will not be free. That is called meditation. When you say, Humee Hum, Brahm Hum,I am and we are
the we, and we are the God, and let I go, your impact will be different.
When you tell the mirror I am beautiful, it is one-way traffic. A mirror has the capacity to show you how you look,
but it does not have the capacity to deny or confirm. Life belongs to those who deny or confirm to themselves. They
know their inner-pact and their impact. They will never be poor and never be sick. Their mind will be alert, their spirit
will be bright and their environments will be beautiful and bountiful. God made the humans exactly like Himself. God is
within you and God in you is the power in you. When you balance that power, you are God!
You are what your impact is. You are a part of the whole and the whole is a part of you. Build your meditative
personality, come to reality and get rid of duality! You will have all happiness. The Age of Aquarius is coming and we
need teachers who are honestly in a balanced mind. Nothing else but a balanced mind can create environments to the
sense of purity, piety and prosperity. We must all learn to keep going, no matter what is on our backs.
MEDITATION - Communication
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Raise both hands in front of the face at eye level with tip of the little finger (Mercury,
communication) connected with the tip of the thumb (ego) and other fingers slightly curved. Eyes are open. Do Long Deep
Breathing through the o of the mouth. Continue for 3 minutes.
2. Same posture. Do powerful Breath of Fire. Burn out your karma! Use this power to experience something! Your arc line
must change. Continue for 3 minutes.
3. Same posture. Whistle with the Maha Mrityunjai Mantra by Alka Yagnik, (Om Tri-ambakham Yaajaa Mahay,
Sugandheem Pushteevaadhaanan, Oorvaarookamiv Bandhanaat, Mrityor Mukhshee-aa Maamrootaat). Continue for 3
minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and meditate on your spine. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. During the last breath
constrict your spine from base to the top. Relax.
May you be beautiful, bountiful and blissful. May you guide your life with your truthful identity. May you
understand the Universe is for you and you are for the Universe. And may you serve, inspire and love all. Sat Nam.

To Do and To Be
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - April 19th, 2001 - Los Angeles, CA, USA
The most difficult thing to believe is, Humee Hum Brahm Hum, We are we
and we are God. I may teach another 100 years, but I will not be able to convince
you that you are God. Sometimes you do not even believe that you are a part of
God. You do not even believe that the One who rotates this Earth can take care
of your routine. Once you believe that you are God, Mother Nature will start
working for you.
You are loved for your values and you are respected for your virtues. If you have values and virtues, opportunities will
come to you. If wealth is lost, nothing is lost. If health is lost, something is lost. If character is lost, everything is lost.
But there is no character to build on if you do not start with it!
Your life is to question. But a teacher does not answer your question. He takes away from you the strength to question.
What do you become? The answer. Then you become the answer to everything in the world, and then you become a
teacher. That is how teachers are made. You have to have impact! People have to trust you, because only when people
trust your behavior are you able to take away their pain.
You want to be prosperous. Believe it! If somebody is prosperous, enjoy it! If you want God to be kind to you, be kind
to everybody. Humee Hum, Brahm Hum. You are only God here, but when you go out you become human and
when you go across the road you become a demon. If you have become God here, be God! If you become virtuous
here, be virtuous!
Once I went to India and stayed in a village. After doing my sadhana I would sleep for an hour or so, then wake up, sit
in a tub of water up to my navel point and do Sat Kriya. A man brought the water each morning, serving me well. One
day I asked him, You dont look like an ordinary person. Who are you, really? He said, Im a police officer. Why
have you chosen to serve me? I want to learn something from you. What do you want? Just bless me. Okay.
Sit down and do Sat Kriya with me. So he did, and I told him to keep on doing it.
Three years later when I went again to India, a man came with cars and truckloads of people, announcing that a saint
had come and we should go see him. We went to see him, and after some conversation I said, Didnt I see you a few
years ago at such and such place? Now you are a saint? He said, Yes. How does one become a saint? Just as a
police officer may do Sat Kriya, so I have become a saint!
Doing is what life is all about. You have to learn to be. Just sit down, close your eyes, calm down and be. Be yourself!
Not anybody else. Just a creative human being. Just like this:
MEDITATION - Be a Creative Human Being
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Place both hands on your face, totally covering it. Chant the mantra, Humee Hum,
Brahm Hum, by Nirinjan Kaur. Cover your face; cover your karma. Continue chanting for 11 minutes.
2. Maintain the posture and do very Long and Deep Breathing while listening to the mantra. Continue for 3 minutes. To end,
inhale deeply, hold, and exhale. Repeat 2 more time. Relax.
Practice this meditation every day for 11 minutes without asking anything. The Humee Hum, Brahm Hum mantra
is your basic seedyou need this realization in your being. You must start progressively progressing so that Nature and
environments can uplift you. You will then realize happiness, because you are part of the whole and the whole is part
of you. Start nowit is essential! I can authoritatively say this because I have gone through calamity after calamity
and I kept chanting, Humee Hum, Brahm Hum.
You want your body to serve you, but you do not want to serve your body. You want your mind to be sharp and smart
and be with you, but you do not want to tune it. You want your spirit to be available, but you do not want to care for it.
On one hand you want to live the way you want to live. On the other hand you want Mother Nature to serve you. It is
not practical. You need to become wise. You need to have energy to share it. You need to serve and help people.
There is a power within you that is to grow up. This power is your inner strength. You must do what you must do, and
you need that strength to do it. You must do it right so that the impact of the act may be perfect. When your act has an
impact and the impact is perfect, you are the Lord of the Universe. Power lies in your own spirit, in your own self, and
you are in command of it.

You should be seeing through the third eye, above all. It is the way of
prosperity and the privilege of being human. It is not a discipline, nor does
God have anything to do with it! Either prosperity will come to you, or you
will hustle for prosperity. Either you will want to have a partner, or the right
partner will come to you. When you have things in your hand, they turn
sour, and when you have nothing to do with them, they will turn sweet.
You believe and yet you deny that your actions are based on belief. You
believe that you will live to get up in the morning. You believe that you will
have close relationships and be rich. If I say that I love you, it is a belief. You
will keep waiting, He said he loved me.You process beliefs all your life. This
is a Piscean Age process. Your thoughts go after your thoughts, and you
after them, like the fish goes after the fish.
But if you do not believe, God will believe in you! Do you do seva for God?
No! God does seva for you! God is with you to create you, continuously
creating you through His Creativity. You have to believe it. Ek Ong Kar,
There is One Creator. You have to hold that one thought. When you are
served by nature, Prakirti, you have ecstasy, but you have to hold Purkha.
Purkha is that One. When you hold One, everything becomes shuniya, zero,
nothing and everything.
I refuse to learn, I refuse to teach. I just deliver. When you have the spirit you are to deliver, to be like one
candle that lights another. Be human! Hu means light, Man means mental. Live! Ignite anothers mental
light with your mental light!
Understand Guru Nanaks words, Ek Ong Kar,The universe is created by the One, and you are part of that
One. Have patience and wait. Things will start happening. All prosperity is based on opportunity, and you
believe opportunity has to be caught. But it will only happen when the Hand of the Creator is behind it, not
when you put your ego into things.
The ultimate knowledge of the Age of Aquarius is that Purkha is the source of Prakirti. In the shabad Ik
Acharee Chand Guru Gobind Singh explains both Purkha and Prakirti: Unconquerable, Deathless, Fearless,
Sinless. Birthless, Free from the cycle of birth and death, Indestructible, Omnipresent. Unbreakable,
Indestructible, Incomprehensible, in need of no sustenance. Immortal, Merciful, Countless, Garbless.
Nameless, Desireless, Bottomless, Endless, Masterless, Supreme. Without birth or death, the Speaker in all
beings. Without attachment, without color, without form, without destiny. without deed, without superstition,
Imperishable, Indeterminable.
MEDITATION - Shiv Karni Kriya with Ik Acharee Chand Shabd
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Make a tight fist of the left hand and rest the wrist of the right hand on top of
it, facing forward, with the fingers and thumb tightly arched like an open-mouthed snake ready to strike. Place this
mudra in front of the heart center. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are one tenth open and focused at the tip of the
nose. Chant the Ik Acharee Chand Shabd (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines
190196). Continue for 31 minutes. To end, inhale, exhale and relax.
Chanting Ajai, Alai with this mudra is like releasing an arrow from a bowstring, but without this mudra it
is like throwing an arrow with the hand. This mudra makes a heavenly difference.

There are two attitudes in life: to inspire people and make them greater, or
bring people down. Parents give birth to children and raise them for eighteen
to twenty years, only to have these children fly away and not listen. We
have not given them values and virtues. Instead, we are either too
possessive or too much in denial.
Rather than being beings of God who created us, you become beings of
circumstance. You feel okay only when circumstances are good. You focus
on your desires, not God! You think that God is everywhere and you are
nowhere. You worry, Will I be all right? You will be all right if you just feel
you are all right! Make the agreement that God is everywhere and you are
everywhere with God, and nothing will happen to you.
Some people are emotional, superficial, and they talk and talk like ducks.
Even they are all right! Insane people exist to see if you are judgmental. The
moment you judge, you become worse than they are. View everybody as
being all right. You may want all horses to be musicians, but horses do not
play guitars! Among you are some horses, cats, snakes, and goats.
Today we will practice Sampuran Sher Kriya. Sampuran means Perfect
Lord. He is the Lord of Mahesh, the Lord of Completion of Journeys and
the Lord of Death. Sitting in a beautiful position we will chant the Ik
Acharee Chand shabd, the slok from Jaap Sahib that conquers death.
MEDITATION - Sampuran Sher Kriya
Sit straight in a cross-legged position (students must sit facing forward in straight lines parallel to the teachers bench).
Hold the hands in front of the shoulders, facing forward, with the fingers and thumbs tightly pressed together and
arched like an open-mouthed snake ready to strike. The forearms and the hands are as tight as possible, vibrating from
the tension. Eyes are one tenth open and focused at the tip of the nose. Chant the Ik Acharee Chand shabd, (Ajai
Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190-196). Continue for 31 minutes. To end, inhale
deeply, hold, and make every fiber of your body like steel. Cannon Fire exhale. Repeat one more time. Then inhale
deeply, hold, and stretch your spine, pressing the chin in and chest out. Cannon Fire exhale. Relax.
This posture disciplines the body, tightens the mind and uplifts the self of the soul. From now on your longitude
and latitude will be correct for all kriyas I will teach.
Everything on this planet is a sound current. How we speak, what we say and how we say it, are the
foundation of all tragedy and prosperity. We have less than ten years left to become experts in human
upliftment. We need a general knowledge of our conduct and of how our touch can help another. You do not
need to be perfect--even semi-saints are okay. But as the time is coming, you must come out.
MEDITATION - Healing Meditation Share Purity
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Fold the hands in prayer mudra in front of your heart center. Chant the mantra,
Raa Maa Daa Saa, Saa Say So Hung(Ra Ma Da Sa by Gurunam), and meditate on the health of the person
you wish to heal. Eyes are closed. Let us reach the impossible through our power of purity. It shall heal you and reach
the other person to heal. Continue for 3 to 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and send healing energy. Share
yourself. Exhale. Inhale deeply, exhale and relax.

The ida, pingala and shushmana are our essence. 3000 years ago the energy channels of the ida, pingala and
shushmana were known as the human bodys support system. We understand the ida and pingala through their
relationship with the left and right nostrils, but the shushmana is not understood. The shushmana is considered
to be the central nerve inside and outside the spine.
It is compulsory to know truths now, not at the time something happens. We try to develop ourselves through
education, but we have never tried to develop timelessness. You must know when an avalanche is going to
come. If the avalanche is on you, there is nothing to know. You must know before time.
When we are fully developed as human beings, our life goes smoothly, calmly, quietly and peacefully. The Hand
of God takes care of our routines. Things happen, but before the time, we will know they are going to happen.
Our sensory system, our sixth sense, senses the possibility and alerts us. That is the power of shushmana.
The shushmana is your basic power, not guns, not cannons. These are symbols. War is a symbolin the
exercise to kill, you become Lord Shiva. Shiva kills, and when you become Lord Shiva, you kill. It is in you.
God is Brahma, Vishnu and Mahaysh (Shiva)to generate, organize and deliver or destroy. These three facets
are in everybody.
Nanak said, The legs shake, the eyes do not see in spite of those big glasses, and your head bends over a cane,
Old age comes upon us automatically. But if your shushmana is alive, your sensory system will survive. And
this sensory system is so powerful that it can pick up strength from everywherefrom trees, from grass, from
stones. You have a most ultra-modern manufactured system in you. When you realize it, and you know that
you are going to die, you can die when you want to.
A new man will be born, a sensory human being who will not live by the five senses but by the sixth sense
knowing the Unknown. But the sixth sense is not sold in the bazaar. The sixth sense is alive when a challenge
tells you to leave yet you hold your ground, when you are asked to fall apart and you do not. Determination is
a result of calling on your sixth sense.
God appeared before a man doing sadhana, Son, Im very happy with you. Lets go to heaven. He replied,
No. Let me finish sadhana, then Ill see. That is determination. That is desirelessnesswhen you attract
everything and nothing attracts you.
There is no need for knowledge. Why carry a library on your head? Real knowledge is found by challenging
yourself to be par excellence. In meeting this challenge, everything going on inside you is straightened out. Meet
your challenges head on! When you feel like you are dying, you are conquering death.
When you are battling imbalance in a kriya, the spine is forced to adjust to its originality and the shushmana
becomes totally alive and vibrant, causing spinal serum to go into the skull, completely changing the old serum.
When you reach a stage of self-control and self-reliance, and have absolutely conquered yourself, the brain
issues endomorphine, and there is no pain. It is the biggest trip you can enjoy. Then you can command the
elementary universe around you. If you say I want this, it will happen. When you are told, Do this for me,
and it is impossible to do, but you do it, in this doing the psyche gives you excellence.
You think you are this. When you realize you are more than just this, you become able to conquer the self
and win. The purpose of life is winning. Victory! Fateh! Fateh is the way of life. You must win.

Reverence
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - May 14th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
There is one thing that works, that is reverence of Self. The Guru says, Oh my
mind, you are part of life. Try to know your principle, reverence. Reverence works
better than any miracle. There is nothing better or more powerful.
When Mati Das and Sat Das were sacrificed with the ninth Guru, they were asked, Do you want something?
They said, Turn our faces towards the Guru. A man is being boiled in a big pot of water, another is sawed in half
and they are asking Just let me see my Guru. That is all! Look at the quality of the human! These are painless,
fearless, totally extended people.
When someone comes to your home, you do not ask, Would you like to eat?You think, Oh no! I have to cook
again! God has come, a soul has come, it is an opportunity to serve, but there is no reverence! The inflow and
outflow are not extended, and you call yourself human! Like the Dow Jones, you go up and down everyday, as if
your lives depended on it. If you know how to stabilize yourself with your own reverence, the universe will adjust
with you, as when a child is innocently playing and everybody is attracted, because God loves His creatures.
Your problem is that you have not developed a sensory system, the sixth sense. Instead your life is based on passion!
The sensory system is the subtle power that is between you and God as One. From this sensory system grew one
word, EkOngKaar.
MEDITATION - Experience Trikuti
1. Sit straight like great yogis in a cross-legged position (students must sit facing forward in straight lines parallel to the
teachers bench). Raise the arms to the shoulder height, parallel to the floor, and bend the elbows so that the hands are in
front of the heart, palms facing down, right over left, 1 to 2 inches apart. Eyes are focused at the tip of the nose. Chant
from the navel in a two and one-half breath cycle, Ek Ong Kaar Sat Naam Siree Wah-hay Guroo, with reverence,
to experience Trikutithe heavens, the underworld and the earth. Continue for 28 minutes.
2. Same posture. Chant long Sat Naam. Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale, hold and meditate on the sound. Join
with the whole universe of the sound. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Then inhale, hold and raise the arms up. Shake and
move the whole body like a snake. Exhale and relax.
As a Khalsa you must grow the sense of purity and piety; as a Singh you must grow the sense of grace and courage;
and as a Sikh you must grow the sense of humility and service. You will be revered. Wherever you will go, God will
walk ahead of you, behind you and all around you! What a wonderful day it will be! Guru Nanak took away our
misunderstanding, he said Ek Ong Kaar, Sat Naam, true is His Identity, Karta Purkh, He is the Doer of all.
Today I received a call from a man who had been to the hospital for bladder problem. When he came home his pain
had struck again. I told him to put water in a cup, meditate on it and drink it, and tell God to clear him. He tried it
and soon confirmed that he was all right. We have forgotten that a person has power over himself. If he has no
power over himself, he has no power over anyone else. If you cannot share your power, what can you share?
The sensory man is a living forklift. He is a lighthouse. He is a heavenly grace. Without connection with the sensory
system, we can have no love, affection or relationships. You control, command and demand, but love is giving, not
demanding. When you demand, you get nothing. When you do not demand, Mother Nature gives you something
100,000 times better. Do not gamble with your life. Life is very precious. Feel that God is on all sides of you. Let
the Hand of God do things for you.
HEALING MEDITATION - Project Protection
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Hands may be in Gyan Mudra. Eyes are closed. Chant the mantra, Sat Siree, Siree
Akaal, Siree Akaal by Nirinjan Kaur. Reach out! Continue for 3 minutes. To end deeply inhale, exhale. Deeply inhale,
hold, and project. Exhale and relax.
When somebody is in trouble somewhere, chant this mantra to protect the spirit, the soul, the body and the
being. Your medicine is very strong, only you must make it and project it!

Frequencies
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - May 15th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
Your life started when a little spermatozoa and a little egg got together. Since
then you have been expanding. Your hair is growing. Your skin is changing.
There is not one part of your body that is not expanding. The day your body
refuses to expand is the day you will be dead. Expansion is the law. The
universe is expanding; the planets and galaxies are expanding.
Marriages break when people do not walk at the same frequency. Marriage is a union. It must establish a common
frequency between two people. When frequencies are the same in a relationship, then there is reverence.
Reverence is a state of mind which puts the frequencies together.
Your personal lives are too much about how much you can hold ontoinstead of about how you will live today,
how to develop grace or how to survive tomorrow. Guru Gobind Singh said, Give your head, so your ego may
go, and live in your heart.Your frequency will never meet another frequency because the beating of your hearts
is not the same continously all the time. Instead of being noble, sober and gracious, people are interested in blind
sex and passion. How can they have respectable families, children and lives? There is no restraint, no planning
and no respect for each other. Life and marriage without reverence are just exploitation. For temporary benefits
you have permanent loss.
Ponder over the beautiful words of the Noble Woman song, Do not barter character values for benefits.
Nobility is a base out of which grows reverence. We are not born to be poor yet people are stuck with poverty.
Poverty tests character values. There is no other way to find them. Once character values are established even
the Almighty God cannot do anything, for character values are God. If wealth is gone, nothing is gone. If health
is gone, something is gone. If character is gone, everything is gone.
Separation is seeded the day two lovers do not walk together. Love has no dimension, but love has a union, and
love must unite to correct the frequencies. As a lit candle gives light as long as it exists, love in your life must give
you grace, and grace attracts reverence. It is called Suchiaarthe highest state of mind, body and soul. Guru
Nanak said, Where there is no lie, understanding is very clear and true, there is Truth, personal Truth. How does
one become truthful? When we live in truth, the wall of falsehood falls.
Energy wasted on falsehood takes away the joy of living. You can live in your imagination, making your life a
movie of desires, needs, thinking and karma, or you can live in dharma, where you absolutely agree to and follow
the Law of Nature.
The moon has its own orbit in the heavens and reflects the sun. Although the moon waxes and wanes, it is
always there. Any woman who goes to a man shall be rejected. You must attract the grace of the male, not the
body of the male! If you do not attract the grace of a male, then you never meet. Marriage is a union. Spirit is
one, grace is one, consciousness is one, relevancy is one and the frequency is one.
My relationship with people is that of a chisel, hammer and stone. When you meet your teacher, sparks fly. How
unfortunate are those with no one in their life who can say stop! and they stop. When there is a stop sign on
the road, do you argue and reason with it? When you stop your wave of thoughts you are nothing but divine.
Let us see how it works.
MEDITATION - Stop the Waves of Thoughts
Sit straight in a cross-legged position, (students must sit facing forward in straight lines parallel to the teachers bench).
Raise both hands to shoulder level with the elbows relaxed down. Point the index fingers up, the other fingers are curled
down, and press the middle fingers with the thumbs. Eyes are closed. Chant the mantra Har Haray Haree, Wah-hay
Guroo by Nirinjan Kaur. Continue for 31 minutes. To end, inhale, hold, extend the arms up straight and stretch the
spine. The tips of the index fingers should be as hard as steel. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.

Spirituality
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - June 11th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
Religion was originally designed to help governments and rulers keep people
under the fear of inquisition and sin. Religion was not meant to give you
spirituality or an experience of God, and is still not, even today.
I was in London and an old friend from India invited me to his house. I went, and saw he was a very religious
person. He did everything right. As I was departing, he asked what my feeling was about him. After staying here
and experiencing the vibrations, I think you are the most stupid person on the earth! You have not understood
God!But I do banis and kirtan, and I go to Gurdwara!Yes, you do everything that is good. What about those
doing bad? Are they not also God? The fear of being bad is unspiritual. Having a sense of guilt is a sin.
The next day he came to visit me. Immediately he asked, What is this spirituality you are talking about? I told
him, Spirituality is when you are not afraid. Spirit has no fear! Spirituality is to communicate and be
compassionate. You are righteous, but whenever living righteously interferes, it is not righteous. Being afraid of
everything is not a life. He replied, What should I do? I had him sit down and we meditated. Afterwards we
shook hands. I said, You want to be my student. But I do not believe in having anything and I get everything,
dont you see? Nobody can be my student. They each become my master, because they have to carry the
Aquarian Age. You are Piscean, and as every Piscean person, you refuse to learn that there is One God, who
creates everybody and that everything is His creation.
Everything is the creation of God. Do you accept it, deal with it, remember it and know it? Have your feelings
calculated it? Is your projection of psyche in the micro-consciousness and in the macro-consciousness truly one?
Are you real? Can your projections process reverse itself at the moment you see that somebodys feelings are not
equally in tune with yours?
Basically, we all believe in one God, we all believe we are divine and yet we all suffer a sense of guilt and feel we
are sinnersthat wrong is wrong and right is right. Wrong is right and right is wrongbecause it is our thought,
it is our duality that has decided what is right and what is wrong.
If you do not trust God, you cannot trust anybody. And without trust you cannot love! Without love you cannot
expand! Without expansion, you cannot enjoy! Without enjoyment, you are not happy. As human beings we
must learn to be constant, consistent and content.
TRIKITI MEDITATION - To be Constant, Consistent and Content
Sit straight in a cross-legged position (students must sit facing forward in straight lines parallel to the teachers bench).
Interlock the fingers in front of the heart center with the thumbs crossed and the fingertips pressed against the backs of
the hands with all your force. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are closed. Chant calmly and quietly the Ik Acharee
Chand shabd (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jap Sahib, lines 190-196). Go into your higher self.
Change your aura! Continue for 31 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold. Exhale. Inhale deeply, hold, and pressurize the
fingers and the entire system of the body to distribute the energy. Exhale. Inhale deeply, hold, and squeeze the entire body
with your almighty force. Exhale and relax.
Do this meditation everyday. Lifetimes of mistakes cannot be corrected in one class. But with this meditation
things are corrected so fast, you cannot believe it. Set the intention of your projection to be without fear.
Develop your mind through meditation and your spirit with kindness, understanding and compassion. Kindness is
the son of dharma. Where there is dharma there is no karma, and where there is karma there is no dharma.
Those friends who are in a dharma will appreciate you, and friends through karma will just pull you down. There
is no way for God to bless you unless you bless yourself. When you bless yourself, everything around you is
blessed.

Conquering Pain
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - June 12th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
Attachment develops to the mother and father. Sociologically, psychologically,
in micro and macro consciousness, this attachment to ones parents does not
go away. You are unable to live without an attachment to the mother and
father, because this attachment is with the Mother Earth and the Heavenly
Father. But the attachment to the physical body must be changed to an
attachment to the subtle body. When we cannot change it, we go astray.
Boys and girls becoming adults go astray when the contact with their sociological and psychological psyche does
not connect with their environments. They start drinking, going for sex and joining gangs. It is not really what they
want. They cannot handle the gap, the break in the connection.
We listen to religious nonsense, If you do this youll get that... and if you do this, God will forgive youGod is not
outside! God is inside you. Who is going to forgive whom? He created you and He forgives you? For what? What
have you done? Ang Sang Wah-hay Guroo, God is our every breath of life and every limb of our bodies.
Religion has stretched you beyond you. The Creator created us and we are His creation, but we have not
accepted it. We are willing to accept everything else except one thing: Between me and You, You and me there
is no difference. Even the worst man was created by God! God must have had a purpose to create such a man!
Nothing on this earth is without purpose. When it no longer serves a purpose, it will be gone.
When the Age of Aquarius sets in eleven years from now, it will be your responsibility to help people, hold their hands
and carry them. Give them hope, give them smiles, share with them, sit with them, meditate with them, reach out for
them. People are alive by emotions and feelings, not by the sociological, psychological and analytical approach we
call the sixth sense.
MEDITATION - Invoking the Sixth Sense
Sit straight in a cross-legged position (students must sit facing forward in straight lines parallel to the teachers bench).
Raise the arms to 60 degree angles, fingers spread open and palms facing forwards. Balance your shoulders to balance
your head. Eyes are one tenth open and focused at the tip of the nose. Using the tip of the tongue chant the mantra,
Wah-hay Guroo, Wah-hay Jeeo (from Raga Sadhana by Sangeet Kaur and Harjinder Singh). Be steady, firm and
brave! Continue for 11 minutes. During the last 2 minutes powerfully whisper the mantra from the navel. To end, inhale
deeply, hold, and stretch from the navel to pull the shoulders and arms into balance. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. On
the last inhale toughen your fingers like iron. Relax.
You may build the practice of this meditation from 11 minutes to 31. The day you reach 31 minutes, start putting
pressure on the navel and you will get results. I have done it. I know how it works, and how painful it is.
There is nobody who is not in pain. Pain is the way of life! The cause may be loneliness, rejection or failure to reach
a desired social status. Because of this pain people drink and do alot of other things they are not supposed to do.
Conquering pain is the only pleasure on this planet. When someone is in pain, bring them to conquer their pain,
heal the world, touch people. They will be your friends forever.
I am doing everything to give you virtues, values and merits so your can have the grassroots foundation,
sociologically and psychologically, to walk with grace and pride. Then we can say, We are the Khalsa, the mighty,
mighty Khalsa. Everywhere we go people want to know who we are, so we tell them, We are the Khalsa! Now,
in the trend and tendency of the time, in the creativity of the sensory human being, molecules are magnetically
feeling the attraction of the Almighty God. The sensory human being has come into existence and this sensory
human being will lead the world in the sensory system to the point of understanding, love, compassion, kindness
and care, in which all can laugh, smile and be happy.

Ek Ong Kaar
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - June 15th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
I was in Anchorage, Alaska in the winter to teach a class. At night the sky
was so beautifully lit that it woke me up. I rose to see what it was and
exclaimed, Oh God! There were Northern Lights entangling and
intermingling with each other. They were at their maximum, coming into
each other and playing, all the way from the North Pole to where I was.
For some God is a person. For some God is energy. For some God is a
moment. Nanak went into the essence when he said, Ek Ong Kaar,
There is One Creator of the entire creation. Unfortunately we do not
believe there is one God. If we did, there would be no need for fighting
among religions. If we did, there would be no need for expanding oneself. If
we did, there would be no need to hate each other. If we believed in God,
whose manifestation we are, there would be no reason for suffering.
God is One, and any manifestation of God is the All. Good and bad are
solely our judgment! For thousands of years we have been taught that there
is good and bad. It is not true! We are not byproducts of good and bad, we
are the byproduct of one Good. Sometimes we go bad. What is wrong with
that? When we, as byproducts of that one Good, go bad, there is no
tolerance for it. It is judged, and the entire human body is totally put into this
madness, which takes away our energy, our life, our happiness and our
strength.
What rules this world is the heart, not the head. Guru Gobind Singh said, Be as God wants you to be. Decide
if you want to be beautiful in the eyes of our Creator, in the eyes of the people or in your own eyes. Imagine
that you are at the North Pole and the huge Northern Lights are kissing you and touching you. It is not a form,
a book, a person, an angel. Within you and around you is totally you. In the beginning, middle and end is you.
All is the intertwined light of the aura, and this is all that Kundalini is about. It is nothing but that power
primal, total, creativethe power to deliver you from the beginning to the end. There is purity and piety in that
energy. All is equally everywhere as One.
We are all playing in those Northern Lights and have all been playing in those lights! You do not understand
when you are young. When you will be ninety years old and exist without physical energy, but only with subtle
and radiant bodies, you will know.
MEDITATION - The Northern Lights
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position (students must sit facing forward in straight lines parallel to the teachers
bench). Place the tip of the right index finger on the tip of the left index finger and hold the other fingers with the
thumb. Extend the arms up to a 60 degree angle, right palm facing down, left palm facing up. Eyes look straight
ahead. Chant from the navel the Ik Acharee Chand shabd (Ajai, Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur.
Jap Sahib, lines 190-196). Keep up! Bring the subtle body into play. Watch your arc line. Feel the Northern Lights!
Win! Continue for 8 minutes.
2. Place your hands over your heart and keep chanting, moving the navel. Feel the Northern Lights. Continue for 3
minutes.
3. Same posture. Chant from the navel in a two and one-half breath cycle, Ek Ong Kaar Sat Naam Siree Wahhay Guroo. Go into yourself. Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and squeeze every fiber of your
being. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. On the last inhale, distribute the energy into every fiber. Relax.

You must know you have radiance. Even in the worst circumstances, you
want to radiate, to look beautiful, be successful and be trusted and loved.
Your radiant body is important. The tragedy is, you do not know how
beautiful you are! Once you discover your own beauty you become givers.
Beauty is innocent and bright. Every human has to have his armor, the
radiant body, shining. To polish the radiant body is a very polite and light and
simple thing to do. When we spend a few minutes everyday in peace and
tranquility, we become radiant in our lives.
Very few people can say very few things to very few people. You believe you
can say everything to everybody whenever you choose. But you cannot. As
a radiant body shines on everybody, it also protects everybody. It does not
let things in. You have ten bodies. This physical body is just one. There are
three mental bodies--negative, positive and neutral, and the arc body, the
auric body, the pranic body and, last of all, your shield, the radiant body.
Let us prepare ourselves for the Age of Aquarius. Let us use different
techniques to be in bliss. Let us uplift everybody. Let us understand God has
created us for a purpose. Let us start complimenting rather than
complaining. And let us not be like mummies, all wrapped up! Ancient,
ancient, ancient souls, wrapped up with the cloth of thoughts and the wax
of ego! You are destined to become masters, and you are master of your
good luck, your best self and your radiant body.
We are preparing ourselves for the times to come. As the Aquarian Age is setting in, our psyche and sensory
system are changing, and we are changing. What should be the foremost powerful and beautiful bodythe radiant
body, needs to be polished. Armors are to be shined, and we are to become again the soldiers of Divine Light.
MEDITATION - Polish the Radiant Body
Part I (62 minutes)
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Raise both hands to shoulder level with the elbows relaxed down. Point the
index fingers up and hold the other fingers with the thumbs. Eyes are focused at the tip of the nose. Sing the Ik
Acharee Chand shabd, (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190-196), moving the
navel on each word. Wake up the Real you! Rise within yourself! Radiate! Break through the shackles. Break the
bondage! Shine the armor! Continue for 48 minutes.
2. Keep chanting in the same posture. Move in circles from the base of the spine in rhythm with the music as trees
move in the wind. Rise within yourself! Continue for 3 minutes.
3. Inhale deeply and hold hands with your neighbors on each side. Then sing the shabd as you move the whole spine
from the base. Continue for 3 minutes. During the last minute sing in a very powerful whisper.
4. Keep holding hands with your neighbors. Sit perfectly still and solid and do Long Deep Breathing. Become Satya
Buddha. Continue for 9 minutes. During the last 3 minutes, tighten the grip and feel the flow of energy. To end, inhale
deeply, hold the grip tight and open up to heaven. Exhale. Inhale deeply, fill yourself with energy and expand it to all
sides. Exhale. Inhale deeply, hold, and let it flow from you. Relax.

Tantric Yoga transforms people in every way, from their integrity to their
dignity. It is like the Panama Canal, where you apply locks and rise and rise
and rise, changing the level of the water, until you cross from one ocean to
another. Here we change the consciousness. It doesnt seem like alot, but
tomorrow you will be needed. Some people, whose caliber and standard is
individual, cannot do it. Time and space will purge them. Those who have
a collective group consciousness are being prepared for the Age of
Aquarius. It is not a question of who you are, but of how enduring and
progressive you are.
Understand how lucky we are to be going through the change of an age and
participating in it. You are changing. You are changing to challenge the
ultimate challenge--to help humanity. I got a telephone call. A student who
had been in 3HO for only three months was going through changes and
wondered what he should do. I told his teacher, Calmly sit with him. Hell
be fine. If he is not fine in 10 minutes, call me. Finally the phone rang. How
is it? I dont know! He made me meditate! I said, That upset guy made
you meditate? Yeah, it was beautiful. I was in bliss, in ecstasy. See how
helping people can help?
Guru Nanak walked, talked and visited places. He undertook impossible journeys. From the very first day his
job was helping others. Symbolically, when you help others, Guru Nanak comes to you. Forget who you are
and help others. Nanak will take care of you in your life, in your family, in your surroundings. You have to do
just one thingforget yourself.
I forgot that I am very, very sick. Am I fine? Who is fine in me? Not me, not at all. It is the same spirit of Guru
Nanak. The only difference is, I recognize it and sometimes you do not. If you say Ang Sang Wah-hay Guroo
and understand the meaning of it, you do not need to learn anything else. Guru Nanak will come through.
For 3,000 years mankind has been taught that we are born in sin and need heaven. Who needs the heavens? All
you need is to forget about yourself and help another person. Reach out! This is the lifeHail Guru Ram Das
and heal the world! And remember, when you heal somebodys problem, your problems disappear all around you.
There is no greater joy than helping others, helping everybody, helping anybody. Our problems are only there
when we are not willing to take care of others. In the Age of Aquarius we have to serve, help, elevate and share.
Truly understand the meaning of Vandh Chakko: Share with others and God will share with you.
MEDITATION - Soorya Karm Kriya
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Bring your hands in front of the heart with the tips of ring fingers (sun fingers)
touching each other and the other fingers curled down, meeting at the knuckles. The thumbs have no role. Elbows are
relaxed down. Eyes are focused at the tip of the nose. Moving the navel chant the mantra, Wah-hay Guroo, Wahhay Jeeo, (from Raga Sadhana by Sangeet Kaur and Harjinder Singh). Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale
deeply, exhale and relax.
When you do Soorya Karm Kriya, the brightness of the sun enriches you. This meditation is your gratitude and
thanks to God, for completing something you started.

Character of a Teacher
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - July 12th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
A Yogi is not affected by the pair of opposites. Appreciation does not make
him happy and insults do not make him sad. A yogi lives in a state of great joy,
peace and contentment. What matters is the standard of character in your
life. The degree of character you can build in a student is only as much as you
have. Low-grade teachers and low-grade students do low-grade things
dont waste your energy and time on it. Who is inspiring, standardizing and
building whom? Once your touch makes the difference, even if a word is not
spoken, there is feeling, vibration and stimulation.
In the next ten years we will reach the stage of a sensory human being where the sixth sense will be the most
powerful tool and todays knowledge will be obsolete. No drugs, food, wealth, imagination or stimulation will give
you what you need. You will depend totally on your sensory system to feel complete, fulfilled and enjoy life rather
than hustling, swearing and cheating! Instead of saying I am better than you we will say We are equals.
A teacher is not one who gives great quotes. Some people quote anything in an effort to impress others, but it is
not how to deal in life. Deal very humbly, graciously and generously, with a compassionate character. A teacher
teaches with his character and builds character. Teachers who become emotionally attached fall into pits of
glamour and prestige. Such teachers do not last long.
Why have you come here? You have come to find your Self. Self is the most powerful, sacred thing God has given
you in this precious life. You have nothing else! Self is like a package: However you want to open it and however
far away from it you goit still gives you fragrance.
The time has come for us to help each other in simple ways; reach people for their betterment. It requires your
depth and compassion. As there is sensual and sexual intercourse, there is also communicative intercourse, and
intercourse where you vibrate compassion constantly and consistently. People see and feel it. They believe you and
trust you. That level of love is multifaceted and creative. When you deal with people compassionately, people may
turn their backs on you, but you will remain positive and compassionate. If unfortunate things occur, your
compassion, the reality, will be there, giving a sense of touch through words, sight, and existence that will heal.
Sikh Dharma actually means, The Path of the Student. The pathway to ones own self. It is a path that leads
from the head to the heart. Once you can reach that, you will be fabulous. The world will come to you and you
will laugh at it. Things will come to you and you will smile. There are not many needs in the life of a person who
is fulfilled. Once you have a sumptuous meal, have eaten and enjoyed, you want to relax. You do not want to go
to another restaurant and eat. Exactly in life, that is what Kundalini Yoga is all about. It is the only yoga that
requires a person to be a householder, not a celibate. Finally mankind has found a means for a man to be a
householder, a yogi and a source of enlightenment. That is why Kundalini Yoga kriyas give results in very little
time, rather than months and years.
There are two teachers who come in a students life. One is a person , and the other is time. What a person
cannot do, time will. Those who do not learn from the master will learn from time. Give your students a chance
to be judgmental and suffer a little. Slowly, gradually they will learn. If they do not have that depth, faith and reach
to receive the teachings, naturally, after a while, time will teach them. Nobody can escape cause and effect! We
have a right to start a sequence, but we have no right to not face the consequences
MEDITATION - To Be Present
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Make a fist of the right hand, raise the right arm up straight and move it in small
and fast counterclockwise circles. Do your best. The faster you move the more benefit you will have. Continue for 3
minutes, then switch arms and do the same movement in a clockwise direction. Continue for 1 minute. Relax.

ON MANTRAS
Mantra is a personal permutation and combination of sounds that can make you concentrate and penetrate into
existence.
Adi Mantra
Chant Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo, the mantra of all mantras. Let me tell you a secret: The sound Ong must be mastered.
After mastering Ong, when you chant Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo, the universe will open up to you.
Long Ek Ong Kaar
Chant Ek Ong Kaar, to open your Ajana Chakra, the third eye. Ek helps open it up so that Ong comes through the
nostrils and vibrates the conch of the third eye. The sound Ong must be mastered and the third eye conch opened at
any cost.
Long Ek Ong Kaar and Adi Mantra
First chant Ek Ong Kaar one time to open the third eye, then chant Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo one time to open your
throat chakra and heart center. It will make you wisest of the wise, grace of the grace, and Lord of the Gods. What a
simple thing, just to practice it and perfect it! After a few days of practice, when you open up all the chakras, they will
become yours and you will think, I was wandering in the wilderness for nothing. Now I have found it. It is mine! Keep
it secretly yours and share it whenever you can.
Mangalacharan Mantra
Chant Aad Guray Nameh, Jugaad Guray Nameh, Sat Guray Nameh, Siree Guroo Dayvay Nameh, to find a direction when
in difficult circumstances.
Once in Amritsar someone asked me, Did Guru Ram Das give you personally a mantra? I was known as a lover of Guru
Ram Das, I could not lie. I said, Well, I know a Guru Ram Das mantra, Ad Guray Namay, Jugad Guray Namay, Sat Guray
Namay, Siree Guroo Day-vay Namay. But that was not what this person meant. Back in Delhi, Krishna Kaur put a Guru
Ram Das picture on the altar. After three days the altar started catching on fire. There was no reason for it. Finally, I sat down
to meditate to figure out why, and started chanting, Aad Guray Namay... and suddenly I found that I was chanting something
different--Guroo Guroo Wah-hay Guroo, Guroo Raam Daas Guroo. Then I saw Guru Ram Das sitting right before me and
I asked, Am I chanting it correctly? He said, Yes, you are chanting correctly. Meanwhile the vision smiled, because I had
reached out my hand to check if it was just a vision or a reality, and my hand got stuck at his shoulder. He said, I knew you
would do this. I know your nature. Are you satisfied now? That was the best moment of my life, past and present.
Guru Mantra
Chant Guroo Guroo Wah-hay Guroo, Guroo Raam Daas Guroo to directly connect with the protective and healing energy
of Guru Ram Das. There are mantras and mantras and mantras, but only this one is called the Guru Mantra.
Mangalacharan Mantra and Guru Mantra
When a student becomes so anxious, so dependent, it can cause a manifestation. It is nothing to be worried about or
freak out about. The manifestation of a human is a combination of a bunch of atoms and molecules, so any moment it
can take a form. That is why sometimes when circumstances are difficult we chant Ad Guray Namay, Jugad Guray
Namay, Sat Guray Namay, Siree Guroo Day-vay Namay and along with that we put a face to it and chant Guroo Guroo
Wah-hay Guroo, Guroo Raam Daas Guroo.
Ardaas Bhayee
Chant Ardaas Bhayee, Amar Daas Guroo, Amar Daas Guroo, Ardaas Bhayee, Raam Daas Guroo, Raam Daas Guroo,
Raam Daas Guroo, Sachee Sahee, when you are in a difficult situation and want it to ease up because it may not be
physically possible to face it. Ardas means prayer and Sachee Sahee means under the true seal and authority. It is a
simple permutation and combination of words that manifest things beyond the realm of this planet of creativity and
activity.
Adays Tisay Adays (from JapJi Sahib)
Chant Aadays Tisay Aadays, Aad Aneel, Anaad Anaahat, Jug Jug Ayko Vays, in times of difficulty, when you do not know
what to do. It is the mantra that Guru Nanak gave to the yogis. It tells of the glory of God. Adays means call upon. I
call upon Thou, existing in the beginning, throughout all time and space, and unto any extent.
Guru Gaitri Mantra (with four Hars)
Chant Har Har Har Har Gobinday, Har Har Har Har Mukanday, Har Har Har Har Udaaray, Har Har Har Har Apaaray,
Har Har Har Har Hareeang, Har Har Har Har Kareeang, Har Har Har Har Nirnaamay, Har Har Har Har Akaamay, to
call upon prosperity, despite bad luck and the worst circumstances. This mantra is composed of eight words about God,
with four Hars added to it. Chant it from the navel and listen to it.

Surrendering to a Master
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - July 16th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
How can you project that you are a teacher? You must find a master through
study and finally, through the luck of your self-concept, surrender. Why
should one surrender to a master? Because, if you surrender then your
students will surrender to you. If you have not experienced what surrender is
and what it means, you will never learn anything.
When man was made to go through the test of time and space the soul refused
to be sent to Earth. God asked, Whats the matter? Soul said, I want
assurance that I will not be grounded by karma. I want to be quick to find the path
of Dharma. God said, That I cannot promise. But I can promise you that every
soul, which is given a mind, will find his masterfor a moment. If you recognize
him and put your whole self into it, I shall be by your side to help you out.
Who is the master? That nobody can tell you. It is the concept of your total being that you will find the master.
And when you find the master, you will find easy to sacrifice and to serve. It is a sophisticated feeling of faith.
Religion cannot help you. The only thing that can help you at that time is your consciousness. There is a certain
faculty and facility of life which comes only once in a lifetime. Miss it, dont kiss itits gone.
MEDITATION - No ImaginationAll Reality! (62 minutes)
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Place the right hand on top of the left hand, creating a perfect triangle in front
of the body, arms parallel to the ground. Both palms are facing down. Eyes are closed. Move the hands up and down
(9 inches total). Put your whole being into it. Chant from the navel, Wah-hay Guroo, Wah-hay Jeeo (from Raga
Sadhana by Sangeet Kaur and Harjinder Singh). Continue for 11 minutes.
The first day that I met my master he said, Sit down and get in this posture. Keep up in good faith. He then
walked away. Five hours later he returned and said, Oh, youre doing okay. We dont need to change. Keep up!
I then realized I was not into imagination, but all reality.
2. Place both hands on the heart center. Continue chanting for 11 minutes.
3. Rest both hands in your lap. Continue chanting for 37 minutes.
4. Same posture. Do Long Deep Breathing. Be sturdy, steady, complete. Have patience. Continue for 3 minutes. To
end, inhale deeply, hold and stretch the arms up. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.
If you move your body, nothing complexjust simple, and meditate on a purpose, you will be astonished to find
that the purpose of life becomes you. You will feel comfortable. The most pure, most pious, most precious thing
you have on this planet is you, and you alone.
Crunch! Crack! The moment you find a teacher, you know you have met a match. Some of you may have that
experience, some may not. Some teachers are like Milaropa and me. They are kind and compassionate, but that
nature of crunching does not go away. Because when you see your student not taking the right track, you fire a
cannon fire. Sometimes the student says, I dont want it. It is fine. If you do not complete your karmas you will
live on and on. You can live through dreams, incidents and accidents, and you go through a lot of hell, and
sometimes feel very heavenly. Once you realize the Will of your Creator you are fine. Then you will feel very
comfortable.
How do you find your true life path? Walk towards the sun and you will find the valley. You all know when you
find your teacher, you all know when you find your love, you all know when you find lightat that time you are
a fool to ignore it! It is just like the story of a blind man. There were 84 gates and only one gate was open. At
one point he scratched his neck and missed a gate. At the end he said, Not one gate is open! That is the story
of us. The Chance has to be given to you. It is promised by God to your soul.

Real Love
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - July 17th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
Doing something for someone in silence fetches you gratification from the
universe. Putting someone elses shoes in order, giving water to a thirsty
person, feeding a man who is hungry and sharing greetings with your enemy
are all blessings.
On the spiritual path a person has to walk on his own. Whether he trembles
or walks straight is his personal responsibility. A person must be helped, not
goaded. Only in the West have I seen people love each other and try to
influence each other when things do not go right. Love that requires
influence, argument or reason is a poison.
So long as a persons life is decided by gain and loss, by commotions and
emotions, by pressure and force, living a religious life means nothing. The path
of religion is not one of free will. It is the path of your super will, your higher
consciousness.
A Sikh woman once said, If tomorrow Siri Singh Sahib stops being a Sikh, I
will still be a Sikh. The time came when her husband and her whole family left
Sikh Dharma and she stood alone. I told her, There is no need to break-up the
family. She replied, Why dont you stop being a Sikh? Im not here to learn
from you! Understand how somebody can have that much clarity and guts!
When I was sixteen and a half, my Master said I was a master and prophesied
all that was to come. I just said, Yes Sir. Thats all. There was no ceremony.
I then returned to my village to find it surrounded. I took the villagers, helped
by God and guided by intuition, and led them through a paddy field to safety.
There were no casualties. Our peasant workmen fought bitterly against the
Pakistani army and held them until we passed the crossroad.
If you are consciously compassionate, sweet and smiling, you will never be poor. Your poverty is your misbehavior,
your poor talk, not receiving people, acting like a stranger, not socializing and being alone.
Life is a flow of psyche. When it flows in compassion it is called real love, before which the Almighty God and
Its creation bow. That is how powerful it is! If you want to see God, go to Anchorage, Alaska, in the winter and
look at the Northern Lights, the Aurora Borealis. That is exactly how psyche flows. I viewed it flowing one into
another in many different colors. It was fascinating!
MEDITATION - Guru Kriya Direct Knowledge
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position, chin in, chest out. Raise both arms straight up over the head and hold your
hands in Sarab Gyan Mudrafingers interlocked with the index fingers together pointing up and thumbs crossed. Eyes
are closed. Rhythmically chant in monotone from the navel, Wah-hay Hoo, Wah-hay Gu-roo, emphasizing Hoo
and roo and extending the second hay longer than the first. Continue for 3 minutes, then inhale, exhale and relax.
2. Remain sitting in a cross-legged position. Raise both hands to shoulder level with the elbows relaxed down and palms
facing forward. Eyes are closed. Rhythmically chant in monotone, Ra Ra Ra Ra Ra, Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma, La La La
La La, Sa Sa Sa Sa Sa, with emphasis on the last Ra, Ma, La, Sa.Then rapidly alternate with the mantra
and its respective mudra in exercise 1. Continue this alternating motion for 3 minutes. Relax and talk to eachother.
Whenever you meet a person repeat these two mantras, changing mudras, and you will know by his comments
how wise or unwise he is.

Kundal is an old term for circular locks of hairs on the sides of the face.
Kundal means spring. In Kundalini Yoga one thing is needed--to loosen
the coil so it can rise. Imagine a spring between your hands. When you press
the spring the coil is called dormant, but in this pressure is its strength. When
we release it, the coil springs open. That is called Kundalini.
It is essential to comb the hairs properly. You have to comb them straight up
and straight down so that they are aligned in a file, as when in the army they
say, Fall in or File in. The Kundalinis nature does not admit matted hairs,
but it does allow braided hairs. In the morning comb your hairs up on top of
the head over the sun center in a knot, neatly aligned. At night braid them
down.
Hairs are pure protein, called heavy protein. As you cannot make an
atomic bomb without heavy water, you cannot sustain an experience
without having heavy protein. To understand the power of the hairs, make a
thread out of cut hairs, then do needlework, put that cloth under your head
and see what happens to you; or mix cut hairs with a mulch in an earthen
pot and grow a tree. Grow a similar tree in a mulch without hairs. See which
grows faster, stronger and better.
Your hairs contain your genes and metals, and they contain your life
journeyyour psycho-destination. Hairs are so shameless, you cut them,
and within twelve hours they show up again! Why do you not get hurt or
protest when they are cut? Because all genetic, molecular and psychomaterial is in every part of every hair.
Your electromagnetic field is protected by leg hairs. That is why when you shave them you get back pain and
inflated nerves. God is not foolish to grow anything. Yet we do not let Him have His way! But we cut our nails.
Why? Because we cannot file them. Normally, in making chhanan, sandalwood powder, sandalwood is rubbed
on a stone. If you also file your nails on a stone, and then mix the two together, a concoction can be made
whereby you will never, ever be sick.
MEDITATION - Become Great!
Sit straight on the heels with the knees together in Vajra Asan, Rock Pose. Hold both hands at shoulder level with the
elbows relaxed down, palms facing forward. Eyes are closed. Rhythmically chant from the navel in a monotone, Ra
Ra Ra Ra Ra, Ma Ma Ma Ma Ma, La La La La La, Sa Sa Sa Sa Sa, with emphasis on the last Ra, Ma,
La, Sa, (Position A). Then raise both arms straight up over the head and hold the hands in Sarab Gyan
Mudrafingers interlocked with the index fingers together pointing up and thumbs crossed. Rhythmically chant from
the navel in monotone, Wah-hay Hoo, Wah-hay Gu-roo, emphasizing Hoo and roo and extending the second
hay longer than the first, (Position B). Alternate position A and B for 31 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and
stretch your spine up as much as you can. Exhale. Repeat one more time. Relax.
We, who practice Kundalini Yoga directly or indirectly, never aim at anything. We bring the whole universe in.
Our projected psyche is going around the world three and a half times in each cycle.

In your daily mind you sleep. You do not go straight into sleep. You intend
to sleep, you try to sleep and then you may sleep. The moment you catch
up with sleep you may try to dream or you may sleep. Without sleep
people cannot live. If you do not let somebody sleep for a week or two he
will go crazy. Some people sleep eight hours, some twelve, some three to
four. Actually, the fact is, you all sleep only for one half hour.
Deep sleep, which is truly deep, is known as Supan Sucooprit Kriya.
Supan means dream. Sucooprit means beyond dream. As a kriya,
it is when you reach the sleep of awareness and know all that you know.
In this life we are mostly asleep. We feel we are awake, but we are not.
Some people start to nod off. A lot of movements indicate a sleeping
person. Sometimes you day-sleep. You are awake, you are driving your
car, the car goes off the road and fifty feet down another road you get in
an accident. But you still say, Oh, I was awake!
How to put this together?
MEDITATION - Supan Sucooprit Kriya
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Brings the hands together into Prayer
Mudra in front of your chest. Eyes are closed. Chant from the heart the
mantra, Ong Namo Guroo Dayv Namo by Nirinjan Kaur. See if while being
awake you can reach the last stage of sleep. Concentrate. Continue for 31
minutes.
2. Inhale deeply and bring your knees to the chest. Keeping the hands in Prayer
Mudra, hug your knees and let your forehead rest on them. Drop yourself, drop
your temperature, and try to have a sleep free from the struggle, pain and
insanity of the world. Continue for 11 minutes.
3. Keeping the knees to the chest, do Long and Deep Breathing, and stretch
the arms up as much as you can. Reach to a higher level, a concentrated,
awakened state. Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, stretch tight,
exhale and relax.

Commitment of a Teacher
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - July 20th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
If you choose a career as a teacher, do not wreck it with your personal
negativity, imagination and chaos. If you ever, ever have the idea to be a teacher,
make it a priority. Be a teacher first and keep on going on those terms.
You have come here to become extra-ordinarily excellent. It is a very difficult
challenge for which you have to challenge your life. If you do not reach for it you
will feel bad. If you cannot reach it, although you have the capacity to, you will
feel miserable. A teacher is a teacher. A teacher is a teacher to begin with, in the
middle and in the end. Teacherism is a religion by itself, with the strictest rules.
You must make up your mind whether you want to be a teacher or not. If you
make up your mind to be a teacher, many things will come to you. A teacher
becomes Gods responsibility very fast! As fast as it takes to be a teacher.
We go chaotic because we give misunderstanding to others. Out of our greed
we fall into a pit, as in the story of the elephant:
When a she-elephant gets horny, the he-elephant will follow. The most
powerful animal in the world follows his own greed and passion. At the very
last moment, people steer the she-elephant away from the pit, but the poor guy
falls right into it. He tries to escape with all his might, but what can he do, 40
feet below the surface? They do not give him any water or food until he finally
puts his trunk up and gives the call of surrender. They bring him out, give him
water and food and start training him. His life of freedom and messing around
is over. He starts a very disciplined life. It has advantages and disadvantages.
The disadvantage is, you cannot take a bath whenever you feel like it. The
advantage is, you shall take a bath according to the schedule.
The life of a teacher is more than a life with a schedule, it is a very, very, very
disciplined life.
MEDITATION - Power to Bless
1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Raise both arms straight up and unite your
hands in Prayer Mudra. Stretch the arms to the right at a 60 degree angle and
rhythmically chant, Sat Naam - Sat Naam - Sat Naam - Jee, as you pull the arms
to the right 4 times in rhythm with the mantra. Then bring the arms to the left at a
60 degree angle and rhythmically chant, Wah-hay Guroo - Wah-hay Guroo Wah-hay Guroo - Jee, as you pull the arms to the left 4 times in rhythm with the
mantra. Keep the neck straight and do not bend the elbows. Eyes are focused at the
tip of the nose. Continue for 11 minutes. Inhale deeply and continue with exercise 2.
This first exercise will hurt, because it is going to clear the internal organs,
particularly the liver and pancreas.
2. Raise both arms straight up over the head and keep your hands in Prayer Mudra. Bend forward from the navel and
rhythmically chant, Sat Naam - Sat Naam - Sat Naam - Jee, as you move the arms up and down 4 times in rhythm
with the mantra. Then come up and rhythmically chant, Wah-hay Guroo - Wah-hay Guroo - Wah-hay Guroo - Jee,
as you stretch the spine and arms backwards 4 times in rhythm with the mantra. Continue for 11 minutes. Inhale deeply
and continue with exercise 3.
The first two exercises prepared you for the last part of the meditation:
3. Extend both arms forward at 60 degree angles, palms facing down. Eyes are focused at the tip of the nose. Chant from
the navel the Ik Acharee Chand shabd, (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190196). Continue for 11 minutes. To end inhale deeply, hold and stretch the spine at your best. Exhale. Inhale deeply, hold
and pull in the navel and stretch the spine. Do your best! Exhale and relax.

Become a Teacher!
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - July 31st, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
You do not have to be honest for someone else. You have to be honest
for yourself. You have to sleep free at nightnot depressed, impressed
and manipulated. You have to guard your self-respect, self-value and
self-virtues. Do that, and you will never be upset.
People need somebody to solve things. And the Self needs to solve for the Self. If you cannot solve for
the Self, if you cannot maintain your position, then you cannot maintain anything. It is essential that
you question yourself, Which way am I going? Where is it leading? What will be the net result?
A student who does not become a teacher is suicidal to a teacher! Teachers do not want students.
Empty-handed you come, empty-handed you go. Students pay for the time of the teacher and to cover
miscellaneous expenses, and there is always enough money. You are not going to become a teacher by
a favor, by recommendations or by any bribe, direct or indirect. You are going to be a teacher by pure
merits.
5 Steps to Become a Teacher
1 - Learn to be learned.
2 - Learn to be graceful.
3 - Learn to be patient.
4 - Learn to be straight.
5 - Learn to be impersonal.
Your spouse is your first student, your child is your second student and your neighborhood is your third
student.
How will you deal from today onwards to go on with this?
1 - Listen to your student precisely and carefully.
2 - Answer your student attentively.
3 - Try to uplift.
Your creative meditation can help you. Creative meditation or applied meditation is for the Self.
Without it there cannot be any improvement.
MEDITATION - Self-Improvement
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Fold the arms across the chest, left over right, and grasp the opposite
upper arms, with fingers along the outside of the arms. The eyes are closed. Chant the Ik Acharee Chand
shabd, (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190-196). Continue for 31 to
62 minutes. To end, inhale, hold, and stretch your arms straight up. Exhale and relax.
# TCH 039/4
Spiritual corruption is ego. The problem is not the teachings. The problem is
the teacher! Some egomaniacs try to make others think they are wiser than
everyone. Being blinded by sexual desire, or wanting to establish themselves
and put a crown on their head, they may do things that are ugly and low. I
teach you in simple terms. Teachings are complicated only by those who are
egomaniacs, insane and corruptby those who fight with God and do not
understand the work of the saints. I once saw a man carving his name into
a bridge with a knife. I told him, Except for disfiguring the bridge you are
not doing a thing. He replied, My name will be here for my children and
their children to find. That is a simple story of a man of egohe did not
want to use the bridge to go across.
All the 12 stars are in your handJupiter, Saturn, Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, etc etc. When you are alive
you are like an open hand facing the earth. To become like a teacher you have to pull all together into the fist
of life. And when you leave the world, you have to open up the fist towards the sky and let it go. You have
never been told that your mind, your spirit, your being and your consciousness need to be put together.
You are conscious about yourself when you feel good through kindness, compassion, goodness and grace.
Consciousness is a fragrance of human bounty. Come to an understanding, make a fist of your beauty, bounty,
grace and bliss and say, I am, I am. God made you as best He could. Rather than asking God to do anything
better, please Him.
Says Guru Nanak, Koodarat Kahaavan Kahaa Veechaar, Variaa Na Jaavaa Ayk Vaar, Jo Tudh Baavai Sahee
Balee Kaar, Tu Sadaa Salaamat Nirankaar. Creative consciousness cannot be explained to Thee, oh Lord. I cannot
even once be a sacrifice unto Thee, despite all you have done for me. What pleases Thee is my will, oh Lord. You are
always there, oh Formless One! Without reaching this understanding, everything is useless, for the world does
not make any sense. If you understand those few words of Guru Nanak, the entire creative consciousness of
the universe, Prakirti, will be here to serve you. The purity and piety that are His Grace will always be with
you, and all your problems will be solved.
Guru Nanak could speak, see, feel and understand God in form and formlessness. Who ever realizes the 40
stanzas of Japji will be a saint or sage, whether or not he belongs to any religion. Sometimes one line of Japji
explains the whole universe. If you can get that grasp you will be very successful in your life.
We are not born to work. We are born to see it works out, and it does work out! One who works is a clerk.
The one who gets the job done is a commanding officer. Do this kriya and see the difference.
MEDITATION - Naam Naad Kriya
Sit straight in a cross-legged position, chin in, chest out. Cross the arms over your chest and hold your shoulders,
hugging yourself tight. Eyes are focused at the tip of the nose. Chant the Ik Acharee Chand shabd, (Ajai Alai by
Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190-196). Continue for 3 to 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply,
hold, stretch the spine and hug yourself tight, putting in every bit of energy. Relax.
Learn to hug yourself. All tension will go away! You may have chronic depression, or depression to the point of
having shaking hands, going crazy, or being unable to see through. Whenever you have a mental condition you
want to get out of, do this kriya. This shabd works on the radiant body. Whatever physical, mental or spiritual
problems you may have, just go into a bathroom, sit on the seat, give yourself a big hug, and chant the Ik
Acharee Chand shabd once. Then wash your face and hands and come out. You will be out of the trouble!

As teachers you will only be appreciated if you appreciate the good side of
your students. If you want to tell someone they are rotten, just appreciate
their good side instead. They will fully realize how rotten their other side
is. I do it all the timeOh honey, yesterday you looked like a princess.
Your way of dressing was beautiful! She will immediately understand
how horrible she was the day before yesterday. You do not have to say it.
Appreciate the positive side. You will be appreciated for those reasons.
When things are hard, become soft. Balance it out. Life has one
purposeto balance it out.
MEDITATION - Beautiful Prosperity
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Hold your hands in Sarab Gyan Mudra in front of the heartfingers
interlocked with the index fingers together pointing up and thumbs crossed. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are
focused at the tip of the nose. Sing from the navel the Ik Acharee Chand shabd, (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh
and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190-196). Prosperity will come to you! Continue for 31 minutes. To end,
inhale deeply, hold and, maintaining the mudra, stretch both arms straight up. Continuing to stretch, exhale.
Repeat 2 more times. Relax.
Blessed is the soul which travels through the planet Earth to complete its joy and journey up to the end
of the heavens and beyond, to merge in the Almighty, the Creator. May this consciousness prevail and
may all our prayers guide the way for all that peace and tranquility and prosperity. May you all be blessed.
When the complexity of the soul is gone, simplicity prevails, in other words known as divinity. May God
bless us all.

The science of yoga makes people effective. The problem in life is not
whether you are rich or not. The problem is not being mentally clear! Sit for
an hour or two, sometime see your mental garbage and clean it. Allow your
spirit to come out.
Fear makes you small and limited. When you have no fear you expand, and opportunities and prosperity come
to you. When you have no fear you do not have to uplift your facea fearless face looks radiant! When you
sit before a mirror you must look into your mind. If you do not look into your mind and keep it clear, all sexual,
sensual, commotional, professional, personal and impersonal relationships will not satisfy you. An unclear and
confused mind makes you act wrong.
The secret of happiness is in your power to sacrifice and uplift others. Happiness is in giving, not in taking. God
will give to you. Trust in the fact! You can complain or compliment. Which will you choose? You doubt
everybody. Is everybody a living doubt? Are you a living duality? The fact of life is that you and God are one
identity. There is no place for duality! What will come to you will come whether you like it or not, but if a bad
time comes and you like it, it will run away.
You do not know your power. You think somebody else is running your life. You want to become beautiful to
convince somebody, known or unknown. Apply this attitude towards your God within you. Make your mind
light and clear! Smile! Your good manners will bring you all fortune. Complaints, duality and misery will not get
you anywhere.
Happiness is our birthright. There is no argument about it. Give your mind a chance. We are going to do it
tonight. It is not a very easy kriya. You can either complain or be happy with it.
MEDITATION - Develop the Power of Expression
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Interlock your hands behind the neck with the elbows stretched back. Eyes are
closed. Rhythmically chant the mantra, Har, Har, Har, Har... (Tantric Har by Simran Kaur and Guru Prem
Singh) pulling in the navel and stretching the elbows back on each Har. Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale
deeply, hold, and stretch your spine. Exhale and relax.
Har is not some God or non-God. It is a sound to lose the ego and gain the Goddess. When you utter it,
using the power of the navel and pulling the elbows back, it becomes the most powerful tool in your life. Do it
happily! 11 minutes of this kriya will change your power of expression. After a few days of practice, the elbows
and spine will start working together with the sound Harthe bow is ready! Your thought will go straight
to the targethitting the bulls- eye! The lack of this power is the cause of your suffering. Whatever you say
must hit the inner ear of a person. Otherwise, instead of going to his heart, it goes to his head, and the head
starts arguing, What is he talking about? It makes friends fight, a husband and wife fight, children and parents
fight, and makes you ineffectual in your professional relationships. Your projection is your power!
The Age of Aquarius is in eleven years, right before us, where all we know will become absolutely obsolete. If
our sensory system does not work and we cannot read between the lines and into the third eye of a person we
will go crazy. We will not understand what is going on. Learn the dating game within yourself. Have a date
with your mind two hours every day. Just sit and do nothing and see how many dirty thoughts come to you.
In the end you will say, Shut up! I am going to sit for one hour and not do anything! I am not going to scratch
my nose or my ear. I am not going to physically move my body at all. See how miserable you become! All the
misery that is to come to you that day will be gone in exactly 31 minutes. This is the natural Law of Silence.

YOGIC TIPS
There are certain things you have to learn that will keep your life going neat and clean. God made so many
things so you may not suffer. They are all teachers:
To Avoid Suffering: Each day just sit for 31 minutes solid. See what happens in 11 days.
Malachite Water: Place a malachite stone in water overnight. Get up early in the morning, do Cat and Cow
and exercises which jerk your body. Then drink the malachite water and sit down for one half hour. After that
go to the bathroom and urinate. Your life will change in 40 days, you cannot believe!
Natural Moisturizers: You are not beautiful. Your Radiant Body is beautiful. All the creams you use do not
make you beautiful at all. They are for your satisfaction. If your body does not create moisture, do you think
that moisturizing creams will do it? Just eat right. Eat cantaloupe, cottage cheese, watermelon and cucumber.
Eat figs. They are sweet! You will be beautiful, and you will not need moisture. What you spend on creams,
you can spend on these foods.
For Immediate Moisturizing Resultsin one to two days: In the morning rub sandalwood oil into
your cheeks, face and body. You will smell good and everything will be okay.
To Make Death Run Away: The heart of cucumber will make death run away. It is so simple. Take a couple
of fresh tomatoes, a couple of cucumber heartsthose seeds, and eat.
For Mental Unclarity: Eat more vegetables. It has been found that the basic American diet is not
sufficiently healthy. An unhealthy diet makes the mind unhealthy. When you put the wrong things into your
stomach it affects your brain.
When You are Very Miserable: Take one quarter of a banana and you will be released of the misery. There
is a little potassium in that banana. It will change you.
Habit to Worry: If you are very worried by habit, eat sweet corn. Take a big bite and chew it. All animosity
will go away.
Change your Mental Capacity: Coconuts are precious. Do not just drink the coconut water and throw
the rest away. It is one nut you have to chew!
To Feel Good: In the morning peel five soaked almonds and chew them into a paste. See what it does to you.
You will feel good! Also, bite into an apple and eat it, head-on!
For Sweet Speech: Eat cherry tomatoes. Crush the whole tomato in your mouth and see what it does to
you. From having the most angry speech your speech will become sweet.
For Fits of Anger: Celery. When you are going to yell and scream take celery and chew on it, then live
happily. You will become soft-spoken and laugh all the time. Celery works its way.
The Executive Career: The best career is to be an executive. Even if you are a doctor, an attorney or a
showgirl, you have to be an executive so that you can create contracts in your best interest.
Approach to Love-Making: If you want to make love to your man, rub oil on his back. Start with a foot
massage and end with his head.

Congeniality
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - September 5th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
We have many libraries and books and stories. Can you believe how many
things we talk about? There is so much to learn, but if we do not know how
to be content, we are not ourselves. Our life is full of earthquakes, sometimes
because of anger, sometimes because of greed or attachment, sometimes
because of pride. Oh, if I had that...! I wanted to, but I couldnt! From this
couldnt comes life and we are not content. We live by the Will of God, we are surviving by the flow of energy
and we are penetrating in our life by our own psyche. Still we are very discontented.
God created you, and His own Hand will carry you. But you do not want His Hand to carry you! You want,
kam, krodh, lobh and aunkaar to carry youdesire, anger, greed and ego! There is curiosity about what
tomorrow will be. Everybody wants to know what tomorrow will be! I tell you: Tomorrow is what you are today,
and today, if you can flow with the magnetic field, the sun flares can connect and change your whole destiny to
prosperity, richness and health.
The collective applied mind is the reality of the human mind in which there is no question of anger and no question
of defeat. When you are involved in any relationship, you must speak and guide and sometimes goad, like those
who sit on the neck of an elephant with an iron goad in their hand. The elephant knows that he must behave, or
that goad will go right into his head.
Tragedy is for you what the iron goad is for the elephant. It puts you back on the path. You hate to suffer, but you
are born to suffer when you are wrong. Fortunate are those who suffer and immediately correct themselves. But
you want to do wrong and not suffer at all! It does not happen that way. God will forgive you when you reach
Him, but Mother Nature will never forgive you.
Man is a social animal. Without this, he is a brute. Living in a collective congregation is the source of all knowledge
and all excellence. And that is Sahej Yogawhen things happen in a very simple way. You have to learn what is
called congeniality. Congeniality is a sensory union. In the future, a sensory human will have congeniality to
everything on this earthnot only to humans, but also among animals, root life, and bird life and among all that
there is.
Once a shark came into shallow waters by mistake. 200 people were there, but nobody killed it. They successfully
put it back into deep water. That is the bondage of selfless existence and service. Because of the pollution of the
ocean, the sensory system of sharks is so damaged that they come on the beach. You do the same! You beach
yourself in such a situation of life that does not belong to you! Why? Because your sensory system does not work
either! Now let us act correctively.
MEDITATION - Correcting the Sensory System
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Hold the right hand up in front the right shoulder with the elbow relaxed down.
Point the index finger up, the source of your wisdom, and hold down the other fingers with the thumb. Extend the left
forearm forward, parallel to the ground, with the elbow relaxed down. Make a tight fist of your left hand with the thumb
outside. Eyes are closed. Do Long and Deep Breathing as you mentally chant the Wah-hay Guroo Jio shabd by Bhai
Avtar Singh. Keep the index finger, the fist and the navel point tight. Connect your inner ear with the navel point and
move it in rhythm with the mantra. Digest the sound! Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and strongly
tighten the index finger, fist and navel point. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. Relax.
Wah-hay Guroo is the glory of the One who takes you from darkness to light. On hearing it, feel light at the
navel point and heart chakra. God lives with you, but you ignore it! It does not take much to enrich yourself with
the strength of divinity. Once you have strength of divinity you will not barter and bargain your grace, and you
will win. Nothing is permanentpartner, students, wealth, health. Only one thing is permanentyou and your
divinity; you and your God within you. Do this kriya for 11 minutes. Once you get a little bit tuned with it, you
can hear the unheard. Something in you will start talking to you. And that is the relationship you need.

When your intention and tendency in your actions is to please others so that
everyone should respect you and like your environments, you are
manifesting a gathering of karmic thoughts. When you do something
collectively for everyone, irrespective of your personality, to serve others
and to bring them together, that is dharma. In karma you are for yourself. In
dharma you are for everything.
People involved with karma argue, impress and try to lead everyone. But that leadership, that impression, ends
up with an act of selfishness. The net result of karma, of doing whatever you want to do, is to end up lonely,
because you fail to realize that God is with everybody and with you. Those who believe in dharma believe that
the Totality of the Universe is with them. Limitations in their vision disappear, consciousness starts vibrating
and they become beautiful. The most powerful beauty of a person is the beauty of the radiant body. It collects
the essence of the other nine bodies, and in communication with others, it collects 50% of their vibratory
strength.
You are born with five tattvas, three gunas and seven chakras. They are all wrapped up in the aura. The beauty
of a huge aura is that it affects individuals. You feel you are a part of them and they feel they are a part of you.
You never feel lonely. You always feel part of the positive, collective mind of the Cosmos. When you think
collectively, as an individual, that the Creator is with you, the entire creation is with you!
When we say, Learn from the Guru, we are saying, Learn from the word of the Shabd Guru. Those Words
of Wisdom are for everybody. You were born for collective consciousness. You all need these wordsthey are
the essential part of your life! Sometimes, you work and serve for five to eight years, and you say, Im
awakened, Im realized! But you are actually saying you have no discipline. You have realized your shallowness.
You could have realized greatness, virtues, values, power and togetherness. You would have taken everybody
into your arms and hugged them, and provided your Radiant Bodys shelter to uplift them.
Once a thief sat on a pathway and watched a lady come by at night. To him she was an easy prey. So when
she reached the point where he thought he could grab her, he was shocked to see four huge cobrastwo
moving in front of her and two behind her. When she arrived home, the elder in the house asked, What has
happened to you? You are very bright! She said, I just came the same way I usually do. She was not aware
of what happened! Then she went to bed and dreamed that something was covering her. She got up, did her
meditation and realized that her Isht, what she was meditating on, was protecting her.
Many times the Unknown Hand of God protects you. Do you realize? Many times not. Union with God is
called Sanjog. Vijog is separation from Almighty. They both take care of your actions and reactions. When
you turn the net result of your karmas into good actions and gratefulness, then life becomes free.
In our heart is our God. His not coming from the outside. Simply we have to feel it. That great feeling is Ang
Sang Wah-hay Guroo.
MEDITATION - To Feel God within You
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Grip the hands together, right palm over left, in front of the heart. Elbows are
relaxed down. Eyes are closed. Chant the mantra Ang Sang Wah-hay Guroo by Nirinjan Kaur, pulling the navel in
and up with 5 strokes in rhythm with the mantra. You will be surprised at what it does. Feel the Creator within you.
Continue for 11 to 31 minutes. To end, deeply inhale and completely exhale. Deeply inhale, hold and stretch the spine
and the hands up in the lock, exhale and relax.

Attack on America
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - September 11th - Espanola, NM, USA
You must have watched the tragedy. So it comes true, that it takes one thought to make an enemy or a friend.
It was the thought of animosity against the openness of the United States. We do not know how many people
have died, but America is under attack. They have attacked our symbol of trade; they have attacked our
symbol of strength and, if that plane had not fallen, they would have attacked the White House. So theres no
might, theres no superpower. A handful of people, when they put their life at stake can do all this. Dont be
amazed at what reaction there will be tomorrow. There will be a very severe tragedy to face for the people
who have done this.
It is true that we have a collective responsibility. That is why Guru Nanak gave credit to sangat. We are one.
We will also suffer as one and well act as one. All these people who died had not even a thought. Their only
crime was that they were Americans. It was a well-planned attack, hijacking our own civilian planes full of
gasoline and diverting them into the act of terrorism. Now you figure it out, that when Im crying that the Age
of Aquarius is coming, this is a period of insanity in between. See what has happened, and many more things
are expected. Its a tragedy we have to face.
What we can offer is one minute of prayer in our silence, with our heads bowed to the Almighty seeking His
protection, kindness and compassion for those left behind. Seeking the healing energy for those who are injured.
Let us pray from our hearts to God Almighty.
Now it is up to us not to react but to root it out. Sometimes it is better to root out the tooth. By filling the
cavity, the temporary pain will go away, but the danger shall still be there. In World War II, it was Japan who
attacked Pearl Harbor. We could have pocketed it, but we didnt. Its the faculty of every American to keep on
pocketing a lot of things until it goes over the line. Then we wont pocket anymore. Pearl Harbor brought
World War II, and made us participate. Our whole lifestyle changed. We were not the same again and we are
not going to be the same again. Similarly, this attack has done it. This attack is going to change our lifestyle.
America will never be the same. You will have to go at least two hours earlier to the airport. Things will look
rough. The policy in the domestic world will be changed and everything will be searched out. Similarly, in the
foreign world everything will be changed that way.
That is what religion is all about. Search your inside, give yourself a chance, eliminate your fantasies and your
imaginations. Dont live in a dream world. Things can happen, and that is what has happened. When the World
Trade Center was attacked a couple of years ago it was not much of a damage, but the method was not very
sophisticated. So, they have been planning. Remember that the enemies do plan all the time. You have to defend
a thousand times; the enemy wants one chance, which they got today. Now it is upon the nation to respond.
If America does not respond these kinds of things will be repeated. Its very unfortunate for those people who
have done this that our whole country is not divided at all. Because everything has been glued together-America will act with one voice, with one determination and with one strength, which is huge.
Our spirit of America does not lie in those towers and that side of the Pentagon. Those are symbols, which
have been disturbed. Now there is a time for reaction. Thats why the concept of saints and soldiers, which
was given by Guru Gobind Singh, comes in handy. People used to say, What do we have to be a soldier for?
We have to be a soldier for this insanity. And we have to be a saint for this kind of insanity. What Guru Gobind
Singh said was that there can be a possibility where you have to defend yourself in a very saintly, firm way.

There are a lot of religions that say if somebody hits your left cheek, turn
your right. And I used to say, if somebody hits your left cheek, hit his right
cheek so there should be no cheek. Otherwise, some other poor fellow will
get it. We must have an applied spiritual strength. Time is on us, and we are
walking into that time where we have to relate to our inner and outer
strength both.
Youll be hearing a lot of talk about it in the next few days, but I can assure
you that they are planning quite a big number. Dont get into your hippie
mood. Theyll put you behind bars such that you will never be heard from
again. Everything is on candid camera; every word said will be seen. So Id
like you to be very cautious. Learn in sympathy that life is a commanded
sense of coordination, cooperation and projection. You have to survive as an
individual, and you have to survive as a collective individual. When you, inbetween yourself, do not find the cohesiveness, exclusiveness, and strength,
you cant survive.
The circumstances which are going to face us will tell us that the world has really changed. You can learn it
the hard way, or you can learn it by the collective way. It is up to us whether we have peace of mind and we
can live collectively to face the tragedy, or to be shattered individuals. This is a very condemnable act, but when
you leave tomorrow for your offices or for work or sit down and talk with your colleagues, keep your spirits
high and be effective.
At this time with the sorrow there is a great anger. Throughout the world there is a frustration and this act has
triggered that frustration. Sometimes, being naive, we start talking about something which is not responsible.
Please avoid such conversations and discussions. It will not benefit you; rather, it may put you into jeopardy.
This whole thing has hurt every American. Whether we like it or not, there shall be a reaction. Dont become
victim to that reaction. It has to happen. World shall act insane. Theres no sanity in what has happened.
Nobody among you could believe that this would happen. Still it has happened. Unknowingly, people are
attacked personally, collectively, and nationally for no reason. We should send the healing energy to those who
are still in pain. We should show our oneness of that heart.
MEDITATION - Oneness of Heart
Sit in a cross-legged position. Fold your hands in front of the heart. Eyes are closed. Chant the mantra, Raa Maa
Daa Saa, Saa Say So Hung(Ra Ma Da Sa by Gurunam). Be very sincere, very devout and solid. Continue for
11 minutes singing with a full voice, then for 5 minute in a whisper and then for 1 minute in silence. To end, Inhale
deeply, hold, and give this breath to those who need it. Exhale and relax.
Many times we may have differences between our concepts but, when the time comes, we must stay together.
This is not a small tragedy. The insanity is around the corner and we have to act right and fearlessly, being alert.
#NM 0417
We are all safe and nobody is safe. What does that warrant? To give up
personal bickering and personal tragedies, which we cannot afford, and
start thinking nationally and internationally. Anything can happen anytime,
anywhere. What happened in New York and Washington was planned for
five years. They watched the pattern, the time and the space. Out of five
targets, they got three. One plane was lost and another did not happen.
Why such aggressiveness? A little aggressiveness here and there was
ignored and finally this D-Day happened.
Understand how terrorism works. First, you have to create fanatics from childhood. It is essential to have
a basic fanatic to train to terrorism, for terror is not straight. They have to tell them, In that country we
cannot practice our religion and our life according to our religion, and its their fault. They do not tell them
that there are six million Muslims living in United States who are happy and grateful. The fault is ours. They
become hardened mentally and are ultimately given a choice: Do you want to live here or do you want to
teach a lesson to these people and go to God?
It is not that we do not have anger or that we do not misbehave. But we do it on a minor level. There is a
limit to being stupid. Once in a while it strikes us, so we calm down and do what is right. Technically
speaking, all people have equal virtues and equal insanity. Some just walk into insanity.
The terrorism we are talking about is not real terrorism. Sooner or later there will be nuclear terrorism.
Everybody has to be cautious. You cannot live the way you used to live. If you are nice, then you should
know what nice is. The situation is so seriously bad that right in your neighbors house things can go on and
you may not even feel it. So today I would like to ask you to make a special collective prayer to heal the
wounds of those five thousand people who died and the many, many thousands of people who have been
hurt.
MEDITATION - To Help Those Who Are Suffering
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Lock your energy by interlocking the fingers in front of the heart center with
the thumbs crossed. Feel this energy for those who are hurting. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are closed. Chant
the mantra, Raa Maa Daa Saa, Saa Say So Hung(Ra Ma Da Sa by Gurunam). You must reach out to those
who are suffering, sincerely from your heart. Continue for 3 to 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold this precious
breath of life and meditate on the universe. Exhale. Inhale again, hold the breath tight and, with a prayer, let it go.
Inhale deep, hold the breath in prayer and direct it to be a healing breath. Exhale and relax.
You must not misunderstand your powers. A saint is a human also. Try to act as a saint and a sage. It is a
very little price you have to pay to let your ego go and let your sainthood prevail. Calamities are nothing but
challenges. Challenges are nothing but awakening calls to improve our being, and an improved being is
nothing but Gods Self within us. Now the time has come. We must grow out of our past and face the most
beautiful tomorrow.
#NM 0418
At the time of Guru Nanak, peoples understanding was that dharma was
limited to heaven or to hell. That is what fanaticism and terrorism are all
about. Fanaticism and terrorism are not a small thing. They are in our fiber,
like the design within the blanket and, after 25 years of terrorism, it is not
possible to just pull it out.
If you are in love with a girl and you have no idea that you can ever even speak to her, and then she gives you a
hug, you feel you are in heaven. This is a bogus heaven. There are some women who have the capacity to take
the polarization of an activity into the cosmic activity, plus that of the micro to macro consciousness, and bring
them into unison. In this unison, the psyche moves, and you are in heaven! That is all heaven is for that moment.
And when you have used your whole head not to be caught or to be understood, and have put layer upon layer
to do something and are suddenly confronted, this is hell.
That moment of psycho-inter-elected psyche of the cosmos, into micro and macro consciousness, together
into the unison-ness of the person, is heaven when it is positive and hell when it is negative. That is heaven and
hell. That is why Guru Nanak said, I only need the consistent love of Yours in longing between You and me. It
means that there is Infinity and the finite has to have a relationship with It. The enrichment that Infinity grants
the finite is the ecstasy of consciousness.
Giving is very difficult. When you give, you do not think God is making you give. You think you are giving! We
once went to a restaurant. We were 30 people. I sat watching to see if anybody prayed before eating. None.
Zero. We were late, everybody was hungry, and everybody gobbled as though they had not eaten in a century.
Nobody said, Nothing belongs to me, Lord. All is Yours, and I give Yours to You. I have no attachment.
Humans forget; this is one of the greatest lessons.
We have to develop a consciousness that will guide us through life. Believe, as a matter of reality, that whatever
is being given is given by God and whatever we are giving, God is telling us to give. That is all. When your
mental state becomes that clean, clear and crystal, that crystal will promise you the Infinite, beyond the
heavens and the earth. 14:50 It is a qualifying factor of life. Adhere to these words: Nothing belongs to me.
Whatever there is belongs to You, because You are in everything.
We bought this ranch and gave it to Sikh Dharma. It is better to give it to Sikh Dharma, which is the custodian
of my soul and spirit. When a person gives to a person, you cannot give. When you understand the spirit and
soul of yourself and Sikh Dharma, then you will knownothing belongs to you. All belongs to God.
If you do not already pay Dasvandh, begin now! And add one dollar more each day to Dasvandh so that your
community can be in strength and nobility. There are certain principles in life that have to be learned. If we do
not have strength for these principles, let us try this kriya and see if it works.
MEDITATION - Prayer of Surrender
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. With the hands held losely cross the left wrist over the right in front of the
diaphragm. Palms are facing upwards with the thumbs spread apart. Eyes are closed. Sing the Ik Acharee Chand
shabd, (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190-196). It is a uni-mantra, composed
of single words which are mega-multiplied. Chant as if you were being recordedwith that consciousness! Continue
for 62 minutes. During the last 3 minutes listen to the shabd and do a powerful Breath of Fire. To end, inhale deeply,
expanding your chest and shoulders. Expand your body! Exhale and repeat 2 more times. Relax.

Spiritual Endurance
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - October 5th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
Time is a very limited opinion. Time is caused by space. Space moves, and
within that space there is time. Time and space exist through that limited,
effective union. Daysh, time, and Kaar, space become Viddya, the
situation. We are all subject to it, but we are not objective about it. We feel
that the cycle continues and is endless. But miracles can happen. It is not
necessary that your good relationships be good for you, and your bad
relationships be bad for you. Your good relationships are there to make you happy, and you learn the result of
those relationships. Bad relationships are equally good because, right away, you learn a deep lesson that becomes
a protective guardian.
All our life needs is for us to come to a spiritual endurance. The effect of this spiritual endurance is the primary
factor that can take you calmly and quietly through the channels of life. There is no difference between you and
your divine endurance.
Today United Nations complained that one person in every four is mentally not right. That simply means that the
pressure we all go through is sometimes unbearable. Understand that this pressure is always here. Atmosphere
has a pressure, longitude and latitude have a pressure and aptitude and attitude have a pressure. You cannot
parachute from the sky and come on the earth and say, It is all done. You must come through the process of it.
That is why we build spiritual endurance through meditation and mantra.
If you had met me when I was a uniformed officer, you could never have believed that I would be doing this. And
now, when you meet me like this, you cannot believe I could have been a uniformed officer. But time matures
and cures, and circumstances are meant to be. Ankaray Karm is karma of the previous life that we live here.
That is why the circumstances make us to be to be.
Nature, circumstances and environments give the chance. Get it together! We all have to get it together!
Sometimes one mans load can only be taken collectively. That is why Guru Gobind Singh created the Five
Beloved Ones. Collectively we can pull the weight. If I fail to complete everything, you are to complete it. We
have a collective strength in us, hand in hand, in the friendship, in the love and in the affection. Do not keep things
to yourself and say, I cannot. There is nothing you cannot do.
When we meditate collectively, in unison, if someones mind goes off here or there, still somebody next to he or
she is meditating. And so we recollect ourselves. That is the beauty and bounty of life.
MEDITATION - Prayer from the Heart
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Fold the arms across the diaphragm, right over left, and grasp the opposite upper
arms close to the elbow. Eyes are closed. Chant the mantra, Raa Maa Daa Saa, Saa Say So Hung(Ra Ma Da Sa
by Gurunam). You will just get lost in the words, in a prayer from the depth of your heart. Continue for 31 minutes. To
end, inhale deeply, hold and squeeze your entire body to vitalize the spirit. Exhale. Repeat two more times. Relax.
In this meditation you invigorate your bodys circulation and your concentration. In between the systems, in the
flow, if there is a handicap, the handicap goes out of you. As the out is eliminated to the maximum, and the in is
kept, the drama of life is played very smoothly.
I will end with this: One person went to the master and said, I am in much difficulty. The master gave him paper
and a pencil and said, Write down your difficulties. So he listed 20 difficulties. The master said, Tomorrow go
and find someone who has at least 21-30 difficulties. He went out, and found that everybody has 50 or 60
difficulties, and came back with a hodgepodge of difficulties saying, There were more. I just wrote down the
most important ones. He added, I have realized that difficulty lies in feeling that there is difficulty. When you
feel you are weak, or bad, or that things are difficult, that is all it is. There is nothing good, nothing bad, thinking
makes it so.

Let us transform ourselves to unique human beings, now, right this minute. Let us know that we know. Let us see that
we see, in our inner being. And not use our open eyes with insecurity, but our inner eye with deep security.
Let us keep breathing deep and deep, and leaving the deep breath deeply, let us create a cycle. Unending cycle. Let
there be union between us and infinity. Let, for a moment, forget who we are, what we are doing, except we may ride
on the wave of our own breath.
Let us learn to guide ourselves against all odds and evens, from a neutral point of view. I am, I am. Let us charge
ourselves with the surcharge of energy, flood ourselves with purity, pursue our self in beauty. Let us touch the Light.
Let us give our self this day and maintain our self higher than our self as we know.
Let us understand in our depth of mind that we were born in the womb through the sperms of our parents, to add
beauty and bounty to our life of karma. And now we have debt to pay and we have to be positive, affirmative,
serviceful, compassionate, kind. And we must reach out.
We know many things in our life, but this moment we want to know our life, our life within our self, so that we can
sit as yogis, meditate and get going, better than anybody.
How young we are, we are. We have a long life to live. Breathe in deeply, continuously, and breathe out. Dont let the
control of the breath go away.
Imagine a saint, and be a saint. Let us achieve something. Let us reach somewhere.
Let us feel in us.This power of meditation, where you guide yourself, is the most affirmative, positive and fruitful. Ride
the waves of the breath and feel the nearness of the God Who gave you the breath of life. Reach out, inside of you,
all what is there.
In your heart center, may the Guru sit and preside over you as Deity. May you understand shuniya, and start from
zero and try to reach infinity. Breathe powerfully and forcefully. Inhale and exhale. Forget all memory of the past and
only remember you have a saint within, being provided by the Guru and guided by God.
In this affirmation you can totally cleanse yourself and purify yourself. Be proud of the fact that once in awhile you get
a chance to do it. It is not this evening and this day only. It should be your life, to recharge yourself.
Now consciously do Breath of Fire. Move the navel so that all of the organsliver, kidney, pancreas may be
recharged. Lungs will give double function. You will get the right effect. Do it sincerely. Remember Breath of Life has
a lot of power (Continue for 3 minutes).
Inhale deeply, hold the precious breath and pray for peace and for all those who gave their life, peacefully. Exhale.
Inhale deeply. Pray for peace of yourself and thank God we are together under one roof in love, tranquility and peace.
Breathe out. Breathe in deeply and do the prayer that God give your shoulders the power to carry the weight of karma,
dharma and this universe. Let it go.
May the Long Time Sun Shine Upon You
May you be blessed by the virtue of the Lord and may God within you rule your destiny and bring you peace and
tranquility. May you make it a daily prayer and ask yourself for positive blessings, and share those blessings for all the
world around. Sat Nam.

We are not perfect and divine, and neither we should be and neither are we asking for it. But we are asking that at this
moment we have the capacity and capability of concentrating inside us. We are asking our self, for this moment, in this
time and in this space, to be pure.
We are not questioning our achievement. We are questioning our action, our karma. The moment karma is done in the
name of dharma, elevation takes place. Its automatic! Just close your eyes and be to be to be.
Make yourself to be a saint and a yogi by your own personality and thought. And with those thoughts just breathe, long
and deep, because all the beauty there is, all the prosperity there is, is in the commitment. This is that moment of
commitment. It is our capacity. What was wrong yesterday or a few hours before, that was then. But now, at this minute
of life, which is pure, solid, our life, for our purposes, may our Breath of Life be pure.
Therefore, make it mechanical. Transform it from automatic to mechanical. Breathe in deep and breathe out completely.
Breathe in on the sound of Har and breathe out on the sound of Haree, so the tattva of the male and female unites
your consciousness into the Heart of the Lord. Whatever your God is, that is the guiding, goading personality, now.
Adopt it. Adopt it with full inhale and a full exhale. With tremendous beauty, bounty and bliss.
You are the consciousness of it. You are the center of it. Let your grace shine. Let your purity guide you. Let your self
rebuild yourself. These are just 11 minutes you have to deal with. It is not very long. Mentally remind yourself, Healthy
I am, Happy I am, Holy I am. Purify your inner being into the guidance of the stars and the heavens.
Friends and foes, it all goes. This moment is very pure because it is the applied combined purity of each one of us. Our
thirty trillion cells per person are vibrating or making efforts to vibrate. At this moment we are comparatively kind and
compassionate to our self. Try to see our higher self. Feel the living breath.
It is not that you dont breathe the whole day--you cant live without that! But you dont, at that time, feel. You dont
concentrate. You have done 11 minutes without any notice of time. Time passes in such things very fast.
Part II - 3 minutes
Now, to make yourself powerful, give the Breath of Fire to yourself. From the navel, heal yourself! Breath of Fire is a
healing breath. It burns out the disease. Allow yourself hear your own breath just for 3 minutes. Empower yourself!
Part III - Meridian Enrichment Kriya - 3 Minutes
Bring your hands in front of your heart center, with the fingertips touching and the palms spread. Inhale deeply and hold
the breath in as you move the fingers in circles forward, down, back and up, 5 times (only fingers moves, not the arms).
Exhale. Continue for 3 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and expand your chest cavityshoulders, chest and ribs.
Exhale. Then inhale deeply and exhale completely. Then inhale deeply, hold, and with full strength expand every fiber
of your body. Exhale and relax.
Whenever you feel handicapped or weak in your life, do not run to coffee. Just do the Meridian Enrichment Kriya
for 3 minutes. You will enrich all your meridians, or pulses, which is what some doctors try to do. You will be A1 strong.
Be blessed, be pure, be conscious. Whenever you are conscious, breathe consciously. God will guide you through Breath
of Life to your Infinity. Sat Nam.

Every religion goes round and round and round and talks one thing onlyself-consciousness. Self-consciousness is just a
phrase to us. Let us consider what self-consciousness is: When we know we have a spiritual body, we have a mental body,
we have a physical body.
Your mental body and your radiant bodyhave you ever put them together? They are yours. Nobody will know it! But
you will be charged, and recharged with the energy. What is more beautiful on this Earth than you? What is more pure
and shining than you? What is more cool and calm and quiet than you? In the Eyes of God you are everything.
Take a long deep breath and ride on it. Fortune and misfortune are two wavelengths. By yourself it pulsesyou can put
your body on any wavelength you need. In common mans language we call it repetition.
The bodys membranes, the bodys re-adjustment and the bodys main nervous system are going to adjust now. You are
within that time. Please breathe long and deep and cure yourself forever. Heal! Take long deep breaths and ride on it, and
keep your mental body away. Only look at where the tips of the fingers meet.
Circulate your breath. Keep the mental body separate. Concentrate on the physical body, in the realm of personal
consciousness. You are beautiful, you are bountiful, you are blissful, you are virtuous, you have vigor, self-control. Apply
all that!
The central nerve in the navel point can be touched by a deep breath. A split mental body can give you a vast area of
coexistence. Your all five channels and tattvas are totally balanced at the moment. Your arc line is clear.
Can you believe the little bit that we have done? We suffer here, there, everywhere. What for? America needs peace, it
needs love. It needs tons of smiles. It needs uswe the people.
Our window is up at 12 oclock. The rotation of the planet will change the energy and it will change everything. Now is
the time. Breathe long and deep. Get it when it is available. Bring in you the coziness. Colorful coziness. Split the light
inside. Bring in the special Breath of Life. If you know how to concentrate, meditate and breathe, this is the time.
To end
Breathe in deep and hold it tight. Breathe out. Breathe in deep and hold it tight. Breathe out. Breathe in all the virtues of
God and breathe out peace for the world. Breathe in long and deep, hold it, love it, feel it, and then let it go. Now put all
the pressure on the fingertips. Inhale deep. Put a tight grip on the fingers. Let it go. Inhale deep. Make the fingers very tight.
Feel the purpose of life and prosperity. Let it go. Inhale deeply, exhale and relax.
This time may come in this month next year. My idea was just to give you a re-charge. And this is a very special
time. The whole Eastern World is going to celebrate the Festival of Light. During the ten days of this festival people
will do nothing but breathe, meditate, eat the right food and show gratitude to young girls, the mothers of
innocence. When you see a young girl, you see the creative purity. Purity has many forms, but creative purity is
only the young girl. The source of humanity is that young girl, who will grow and one day have a family and children.
America is young all the time and does not care. There is no rule, no virtue, because we are not a very meditative
nation. But now we are learning a lesson. We got chili in our nose. Now we know we have to change. One day
you will come out and realize how virtuous you are, how valuable you are, how this precious time is given to you
so you can act on yourself so that you can turn from human into an angel. You are going to get kicked. That is a
fact you cannot avoid. Every moment you have to concentrate on your purity.
I asked a Japanese master, What is Shinto? He replied, It is a personal religion. Can I know about it? He picked
a blade of grass and said, What do you see? I was a little cleverer than he thought and I said, God. He asked,
Where is it? I said, In this blade. You know Shinto. Thats it! Thank you.
There is nothing more in teaching. This is all it is. If you cannot see God in all you cannot see God at all. When that
monk picked up a piece of grass and said, What do you see? a normal reply would have been, A blade of grass.
What is the most beautiful virtue man has? Matching intelligence! If you can match intelligence with another person
you are the most valuable, virtuous and wonderful person. Love is when you temporarily get along with a person.
Virtue is in matching intelligence--not values, where everybody differs. Match intelligence!

Co-existence
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - October 27th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
For the last 3,000 years we have been taught nothing. We have been taught
that there is a God somewhere up there, and that we must make an effort, a
journey, to reach there. But it is very simple: If you cannot see God in all, you
cannot see God at all. If the Muslim God is better than the Hindu God, if the
Christian God is better than the Jewish God, then there is neither a Muslim nor
a Hindu, nor a Christian, nor a Jewish God. There is nothing.
God is an interwoven energy, a vibratory impulse in the universe that creates the universe, contracts the universe
and expands the universe. The whole universe! And the universe is as infinite as you can imagine.
Guru Nanak is right to say that we can concentrate in the Sadh Sangat, in a group. Beauty lies in concentration.
Individuality is very weak. Individuality is to project individualism: Saying, I want to project myself, never matters
at all. As our universe contracts and expands, so do individuals. Whatever is will not be.
If you feel So and so is bothering me, so and so is not bothering you. Maybe in a previous life, 300 years ago, you
did something to that person. The soul is in a cycle, a circle. A circle is an orbit. An orbit is a zero. Zero is an
expansion. Expansion is inter-related. Inter-relatedness is existence. Existence is dimension. That is how it is. But
we have made a religion out of everything to make people stick around. On the other hand, discipline forces you to
be purified. Concessions can be given, but real discipline ties you in a box and does not give you a place to move.
Religion was to help you find your way to a certain street. Religion was not to kill each other and do the things
people do today. Understand that your beingness was to be connected to the Supreme Being all the time. You may
try to lie, but ask the question, If someone lied to you, would you like it? If not, the other person would not like
it either. So, how can a human lie to God when another person is a manifestation of God?
Guided Meditation with the Master - Pure Being
Part I 11 minutes
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Hold the hands in front of the heart center, with the fingertips touching and the
palms spread. The fingers are pointing away from the body and the thumbs are pointing up.
Close your eyes and try to go within. In the self of circumstances, the circumstances are in the self. Multiply them. All
that is happening in the universe, and all that will happen in the universe, and all that has happened in the universe, is my
universe. Bring it into your universe in universal coordination. The universe is not separate from you and you are not
separate from the universe. Bring the force in. Use your extreme power. You are powerful, and you are pure, and you are
infinite, and you are, because there is a part God in you, and that part God is in everything. The totality of it has to be
understood right now. In this meditation you bring in that powerful self-controlled, meditative energy, in your being, within
your being.
You are not a woman, you are not a manthat is structure. Inside is that pure being. If you understand that pure being,
then you will not be passionate--not passionate, wrong and small. Your strength will be many-fold! And from many-fold,
make it to a mega-foldI am the Ultimate!
That one line, God and me, me and God are one, has to be understood, with acknowledgment. Im not a doctor so and
so. Im not an attorney so and so. Im not a person so and so. Im not a genius so and so. All these professional
attachments you have are not to be there. And I am not a male and I am not a female. I am just that living, vibrating spirit.
And that living, vibrating spirit is totally interlocked. And when you take that attitude, then you understand, Give me that
identity and honor, or give me death. Then life does not mean anything. Life is a mirage if it is not yours and you do not
control it.

Lets be virtuous. I am virtuous, we are virtuous. Everything is virtue. Every virtue comes from God and every virtue is
God. And every living thing is Gods virtue, and everything grows within the virtue, and everything expands within the
virtue. And the more the virtue expands, the more impressive connections and relationships we have. Every relationship
is a tie-in. And that is how we understand each others virtues. All there is, is virtue. All there will be is virtue.
Ultimately, vice will eat you up. Its a cancer of the infinite universe. Hidingly you can do it, cleverly you can do it, purely
you can do it--it is your science. It has no recording in the Divine because God is virtuous. And God, like the sun, spreads
rays, the light. God, which is the impulsive power of self-contained expansion and contraction and has its own frequency,
has a rhythm to which you have to tune in.
The only thing you tune-in to, the automaticthe automatic in you, is the Breath of Life. And with the Breath of Life you
have a heartbeat, and with a heartbeat you have a pulse. So it all comes to the pulse, if you really want to know. And if you
disturb somebodys pulse and make it run fast, you are actually doing a bad job. Life is calmness, quietness, peace. Shanti,
tranquility. Anything and everything you do is to be in tranquility. In that tranquility you will exist in a biorhythm.
You exist a co-existence. So long you want to exist and you exist, you are creating a very dragging situation. You have to
co-exist! Your power is to co-exist. Our co-existing is virtue. Our self-existing is non-existing. In self-existing we lose all
the flow of the universal energy.
What is there to learn? What are we doing? What books are we reading? And what are we thinking? It is a simple thing.
It is the simplest of all things. If you learn co-existence, you will learn with your own self. You will live with your own self.
Within the constant self and beauty you can create the most powerful, the cleanest karma of all. And that is your dharma.
All what there is and all what there will be are co-existing and coordinating and co-connected with you. And you have to
have that sensitivity.
Part II Meditation on Sound - 31 minutes
Same posture. Powerfully move the navel as you sing the Ik Acharee Chand shabd, (Ajai Alai by Gurushabd Singh
and Nirinjan Kaur. Jaap Sahib, lines 190-196).
This shabd gives you many words one word at a timethey are all faculties of God. Your whole being will coordinate
the sound, the system, the self, the breath, the life, the prana. What you personify is what you become.
Touch the navel. Move it! Union must take place! Give a few minutes to living. When you move the navel the sound will
change. Change the inner self so that the outer world will change. What an easy way to be healthy! Change the inner self,
bring it to zero thought, move the navel!
To end, inhale long and deeply, exhale and relax.
In spite of all our handicaps, we are a beautiful soul. Physical weaknesses occur because we do not have a habit
sadhana. Sa means "total," Dhana means wealth. The total wealth is in sadhana. But we do not have a habit,
we do not have time, we do not appreciate it. We feel that there is a God on the seventh story and we have to
make a lot of money to build a staircase to reach there. Then we will sit on the right side of God. What we are
going to do then? Jump?
For years and years, for eons, we have taught each other with love and affection, yet we have never taught that we
must co-exist. We can never exist personally. It is not our faculty! When you start existing for yourself, you are causing
pain to your self, to your being and to your inner being, to your everything. You are co-coordinating, inter-dependent
and co-existent.
For the last 5,000 years you have been taught how to be in pain. You do not know pleasure. Pleasure is in coexistence. Pain is self-existing. It is so simple. When you intelligently, intellectually, socially and personally
understand that you are doing something where your co-existence is in danger, correct it, and everything
around you will correct. Make yourself a center of your total energy and beauty. You will never be a slave. You
will be self-contained, self-content and continuous. Do not regret living. Do it today!

Psyche
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - November 3rd, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
I am dedicating this class to the psyche. If you understand what it means and
enduringly correct your position, you can save yourself from much
speculation. Temperamentally the psyche is creative. In your capacity of
psyche you have to dress and encircle yourself. With the projection of the
psyche, with all the dealings that you deal, you must protect your identity,
because without your own identity you can never, ever be successful. If you
want to weigh somebody or to love somebody, fine. If you want to argue with
someone or to have a relationship with someone, fine. Everything is fine if it
leaves your identity as an independent self.
Human nature is for projecting. But do not project in a way that you go out of balance. Your divinity is your
identity. But you do not care for your identity; you care for your divinity. You love the trunk of the tree but you
do not care for the roots. How long are you going to last?
Kundalini is symbolized by a snake, naga. Na means no, and ga means go. The power of a snake is that it
can go where nothing else can go. Why? It is flexible! If you are flexible, you are kundalini energy. If you are stiff
like a dead man, you are dead. When you play tough you do nothing but kill yourself. Life is a flexible flow.
Flexibility is equal to identity, is equal to Infinity. And Infinity is equal to prosperity. Why are we quibbling? For
what? It is very difficult to be flexible. Ego!
If you dress royally, walk royally, your manners are royal and you are beautifully royal, nobody is going to check
your bank account. The best thing in life is how you want to act. You act to carry your friends, your desires, your
ambitions, your imagination. But if you do not carry your psyche you are worthless.
Carry your psyche with youI am, I am. Do not bargain your self and lose the impact of your being. The psyche
does not recognize special exercises. It requires an attitude. Keep the attitude that you are a creature created by
God and let things come to you. You will be the healthiest, happiest and holiest. All your problems will be over.
You will be free!
MEDITATION - Channel the Psyche
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Place the left hand on your heart with the thumb tip touching the base of the little
finger and the other fingers wrapped around it. Raise the right hand to shoulder level with the right index finger pointing
straight up and the other fingers curled down with thumb covering them. Elbows are relaxed down. Eyes are closed. Using
the tip of the tongue chant the Har, Haray, Haree, Wah-hay Guroo mantra, by Nirinjan Kaur. Continue for 11 minutes.
During the last 3 minutes toughen the index finger with all the energy. To end, inhale deeply, hold, and stiffen the index
finger. Exhale. Repeat 2 more times. On the last inhaled breath, also stretch your spine as much as you can. Relax.
In this meditation you say these six sounds with the tip of the tonguehere resides the difficulty. Wah-hay
Guroo is the most difficult sound to chant with the tip of the tongue. You normally chant it correctly, but today
you have to chant it incorrectly. Because the pressure is on the psyche and the psyche is in the tip of the tongue.
The fastest way to the target in the body is the tip of the tongue, as it communicates immediately to your reality.
When you raise the index finger, it brings momentary knowledge through psyche. It is a delivery pattern. Try it
when you have a problem. Just sit down and raise this finger. There is knowledge and there is mind and there is
universal mind and universal knowledge. The moment you raise this finger it connects and the inflow starts. It
may take 3 minutes, but if you are bright it may take only 3 seconds.
This meditation should be done for a total of 22 minutes, in two sessions of 11 minutes each. Do not do it for
more than 11 minutes at a time or you may hallucinate. This very entitling meditation can clear many things in
life, many hearts. It channels the psyche of the body and the universe into one channel.

Expansion
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - November 10th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
We think we are living, but that is not true. Breath is living in us! The body is a structure in which the Breath
of Life lives. Why? Because it has a karma. Whatever you are getting in life is normally pre-ordained--your
birth, parents, relatives and your environments. Still, through discipline, you can earn good will, compassion,
grace and kindness.
We have made phrases to separate ourselves from life. This is Christian, This is Japanese, This is
American. We have marked and divided the world by boundaries and divided people by signs and systems
through language. Our life is amazing! We live on one Earth, in one universe, and we are not universal.
To not understand compassion is to not understand God. God is an Impulse of Expansion and man has to
compassionately understand expansion. The moment you do not expand, you contract. Then what is the use
of life? When you are compassionate and vast like the ocean, everybody else is a little boat on it. Everybody is
a part of you. If you do not understand that everybody is a part of you, you do not understand who you are.
We have come to go, yet we have not prepared ourselves for going. You must be ready to go! When you
understand this, it becomes very difficult to separate your self from the total, large universe. You will never fight
with anybody, you will not hate anybody and you will not squeeze. Those who are fanatically committed are
squeezed into themselves, not vast. Religion is a very vast reality. When you identify yourself with religion it
does not mean you are special. It means you are gentle, that you will hug those who do not deserve to be
hugged. Understand the meaning of religion. It is your reality! Deep in you there is a Reality.
Self-control is the way of life. Sharing your life with yourself is the way of life. Closing your eyes and meditating
is self-controltrying to calm yourself so you can fight successfully with your mind. These are simple things,
but people do not understand them.
A very beautiful psychiatrist was my student at UCLA. He was always upset--with his car, his house, his wife,
his children. He used to say, Its my habit. I told him, You are reaching the end of your lifeyour blood
pressure is high. Someday you will lose your consciousness.I don't know how to stop! I told him to lie down
for ten to fifteen minutes each day and breathe long and deep. He got totally cured. Later he told me, That
was the easiest medicine Ive ever had! I replied, Its always there.
When you do not know what to do, just take long deep breaths. The longer the breath, the longer your life will
be, because your life is based on your breath. The shorter the breath, the worse off you are. The longer the
breath, the better you are.
A normal person breathes fifteen times per minute, and a well-balanced person ten times. If you are a real
practitioner and want to be prosperous, you have to breathe seven to nine times per minute. Less than that,
you are a yogi. And if you want things to be done for you and you do not want do anything, you must breathe
one to five times per minute. Then you can direct the universe for yourself. It is a simple thing. When your
breath is long and deep your psyche attracts everything for you. That is the way to prosperity.
There are some people who are failures. Anything they do, they fail. Have them breathe one breath a minute
and then meet with them after two to three years. They will be prosperous and beautiful, because their sense
of communication will have changed. If there is fear in your voice, with the practice of Long Deep Breathing you
can eliminate it and be prosperous.

Wanting Nothing
Yogi Bhajan, Ph.D. - November 17th, 2001 - Espanola, NM, USA
There are 24 hours in a day, 7 days in a week and 365 days in a year. That is called time and space. Within that
space you breathe. Time is not limited. Breath is! It is the frequency of your breath that defines your lifespan.
You breathe 15 times per minute on the average. If you breathe one time per minute, which takes about 120
days of practice to do perfectly, your life will be extended 15 times and, because the bodys organs, cells and
molecules have to stretch to meet the time, you will not have a disease! And if you learn how to meet the time,
time will learn how to meet you. Then you can experience Infinity, which is called God.
In the Age of Aquarius man will learn the Science of Self. Self will be dominant. The emotions and feelings you
have and your desires to have things will all disappear. Can you believe that you can live life wanting nothing?
Understand the joy of it! The moment you want nothing, everything wants you, because everything in the
universe is in balance.
Once a young girl in love with a boy told me, I cant live without him! I said, You want him? Then make a
sacrificejust dont want him. What will happen? I said, Then hell want you! So she practiced Sat Kriya
and with every breath had one thought, I dont want him. As luck would have it, after 120 days of sweetly
and calmly doing Sat Kriya every day he wanted her! When he came and apologized, she said, I dont want
you! Today she is prosperous, content and happy. She rules the time.
When you love and live in personification, it is just like a fish on a hook. It isolates you from your internal and
external projection. You must learn to project impersonally. Saying, I love you is okay, but not for the benefit
of your feelings and attachments. Live personally but project impersonally. That is reality! That is blessing.
When Muslims came to Persia they said to the people, Convert to Islam or we are going to kill you. People
either died or converted to Islam. But they found a man in the jungle named Rasalee. On telling him to accept
Islam, he said, I am Islam! No, you really have to convert. They hung him in a tree with a net saying, You
will not get anything to eat or drink until you convert.
After one month they came back. He was fine. He was laughing! This was strange! They thought, The time
must have been too short. Let us go away. They went away and forgot about him. When they came back five
months later he said, Hey, Islam! You forgot about me! They were shocked! He was hale and healthy! They
asked, What did you live on? He replied, I lived on Islam. Thinking he was a mad man they freed him.
Rasalee walked into the city telling everybody Islam, Islam, Islam! and people started listening to him and
realizing that he was a living, impersonal human being.
Islam means salutation. You are humble and pure enough to salute the universe.
This new age we are entering, the new millennium, is an age of entry into the Self. And Self is very pure. It has
no duality. When somebody says, I like you, but I don't think I like you. Maybe I do, no one can tolerate it.
No person can tolerate a double projection. Your life tragedies are caused by your projections from many angles.
As long as you cannot talk straight, there will be nothing straight in your life.
The worst sin is when you judge a person. If you judge an insane person, insanity will attack you within 24
hours. It is called time reversal. Whatever you do inside your inner self, your outer self has to respond. If you
judge somebody outside, your inner self will judge you. Do you know how painful that will be? You do not need
that pain.

When you start a sequence you must face the consequences. You cannot
escape anything. Time ticks. The mighty sun goes down and then rises. The
Earth revolves. It is happening to you. You cannot take the load--and yet
you have to carry the load of life. But you are overloaded with garbage
rather than clarity. Just be clear and stop this dramatization! It does not take
you anywhere. In the end you will find it is a waste of time--that precious
time, that most beautiful time that can be so projective, so creative, so real,
so fulfilling.
There is a way of living where you desire nothing. When we do not desire anything, we deserve
everything. And it shall be provided, because the law of karma is every action has a reaction, equal
and opposite.
When somebody is rich or you need a person, you over-extend yourself. If somebody is poor and
humble and not in a position to do anything, you withdraw and end up with a reaction. Reaction is
temporary misery, but you suffer here and hereafter! You decide if you are going to the heavens or
to helland your ego is the only clear path to it. Any sequence you start will have consequences.
By the blessing of the Guru you may not feel the consequences and be coveredthat is the only
possibility. You are contemptuous to your own self! Count it! How many times during the day do
you laugh, smile, shake hands or hug people? If you have nobody to hug, at least hug your
consciousness.
You think of life as living to be 60, 70 or 80 years old. That is not life, folks. Life consists of constant,
running circles, running into each other. Time takes you from one place to another. You can be a
thief or a saint--it is balanced all the way. You are what you chose to be. I can tell you Be great!
Hurry up and dont be late! But the end you have to meet, at any rate.
Dharma is the understanding that every action has a reaction equal and opposite. Therefore, it is
simple: Do not start an action for which you are not willing to stand the reaction.
MEDITATION - Self-Transformation
Sit straight in a cross-legged position. Bring your hands in front of your heart center with the fingertips
touching and the palms spread. 19:00 Rhythmically move the fingers in circles forward, down, back and
up, (only the fingers move, not the arms), as you loudly sing the mantra, Bolo Raam, Bolo Raam, Bolo
Raam, Raam Raam, (from Angels Waltz by Sada Sat Kaur). Eyes are open. You have to look at the
hands to give them Drib Drishti Pranayamisaluting with your eyes, your own fingers, your own hands
and your own movement. Continue for 11 minutes. To end, inhale deeply, hold for 30 seconds as you
stretch and tighten your spine, spreading the energy within you for your own piety and bliss. Exhale.
Repeat 2 more times. On the last breath also put all pressure on the fingers and make them like steel.
Relax.
The mantra must be sung with the lips and Ram must be chanted with a puckering motion of the lips.
This meditation has the same effect on every meridian as a complete acupuncture session has. You will be
transformed. Try it any time you are in difficulty. If your head is going in circles and you are going to fall, do it
just once and you will stop. It balances the five tattvasas represented by the planets Mercury, Sun, Saturn,
Jupiter and our Id in relation to the fingers. And if the lips are used to chant this mantra, your love life will never
be negative. Your words, your sound, will go to the heart rather than to the head, because when you speak
with the tongue it reaches the head, when you speak with the tip of the tongue it reaches divinity, and when
you speak with the lips it reaches the heart.
