Dear Mrs. Hiers,
I am so thankful that I have had the privilege of spending almost three months at Good
Samaritan as an intern. I have witnessed that this clinic is an organization full of dedicated and
compassionate people, and obtaining a full-time position at your center would be incredible.. I
graduated this summer from the University of Georgia with a major in Human Development and
Family Science and am interested in pursuing a career in healthcare administration and
management. Being an administrative intern at Good Samaritan has been great preparation for a
position as an executive assistant. I would be able to apply all of the skills I have learned and
knowledge I have gained.
My experiences in customer service, administration, and childcare have helped prepare me to
work at Good Samaritan. As a Good Samaritan administrative intern, I have learned the different
filing and computer systems, completed multiple projects with staff members and fellow
volunteers, helped prepare for a fundraising event, and created a newsletter for the clinic. These
are just some of my experiences, and all of them would help me to perform my duties as an
executive assistant. In a past position as an office assistant for UGA Housing, I handled issues
with students and parents that arose in the residence hall. I learned the importance of ensuring
that all clients concerns are fully addressed and that they feel respected. While working at
Discovery Point Childcare Center for two summers, I was frequently solving problems with
children, co-workers, and parents, which allowed me to develop patience and listening skills.
These experiences, along with my dedication to hard work, strong organization skills, and
willingness to be flexible, will allow me to work well with coworkers, supervisors, and patients
at the health center. I also believe Good Samaritan will be a great fit for me because of my
passion to help those who are in need of access to resources and education.
I hope to receive the opportunity to learn even more from the professionals at Good Samaritan
and to help Good Samaritans fulfill their mission of demonstrating Christs love to others and
helping meet their health needs. This position would allow me to develop my career and
knowledge about the nonprofit healthcare field. If I am given the position, I will be dedicated to
being a resource to the clients and professionals in the clinic in every way that I can.
