The special condition for support design shall be as shown below; + WIND ROAD =: ~—- Not required + RAIN ROAD Not required + SNOW ROAD Not required + EARTHQUAKES : Not required Pipe support identification numbers and locations of all supports shall be shown on Piping Layout Drawings. All welded attachments will be located and identified on piping isonetric drawings, except for dumy pipe by carbon steel. Additional pipe supports required due to field condition, may be designed and located in the field. As far as practicable, standard p4j !pports shall be selected from the standard drawings (Dug. No. (Hoo) )+ Where the standard pipe supports are not applicable, they shall be designed individually as special pipe supports. Pipelines shall be supported in groups at a common support elevation using resting type supports or frane hangers wherever practical. 1) Non-insulated lines shall rest directly on the support member or sleeper. Supporting of one line from another shall be minimized as far as possible. In principle small Line (Less than 3 inches) shall not be supported from larger Lines. However where necessary the following methods may be used. 1) Where beam spacing exceeds allowable support spans for small lines, intermediate supports consisting of a horizontal structural member supported by U-bolts from two large lines shall be provided. Small lines shall be grouped to run on this member between the two large lines. 2) Anchor type support shall not be used for small lines when small lines are supported from larger lines. 3) Tucking small lines between large lines shall be avoided, particularly between large hot lines and insulated lines. High load concentrations, due to valves, strainers, line mounted instruments, etc. shall be given special attention. Both sides of joints Likely to be disconnected for maintenance purposes shall be supported.
