Tutorial Two
A. ClassDojo
B. I chose this technology because I have learned how important reinforcement
is with learning. This is a quick and easy way for educators to give students
positive feedback through the use of technology.
C. This is a technology that could be used through all grade levels and classes.
D. This App can be modified to fit any class. Reinforced behaviors can be
customized for the specific class. For example, in an elementary school
staying in seats might be important; in middle school showing respect for
others may be emphasized; then in high school participation could be
stressed. At first look the avatars may seem childish but those can be
changed. This technology makes teachers think about what is important and
how to implement into the classroom.
E. ClassDojo is a website and App that allows educators to give students
feedback, in the form of points, on behavior in real-time. This data can be
shared with the staff and parents. This App has other useful features, such as
a timer, random button, and attendance tracker.
F. This tutorial will show how to sign up for ClassDojo, award points for
behavior, and use the other features of this site.
G. The objective of this tutorial is for learners to create a ClassDojo account that
is specific for their class, by means of choosing appropriate behaviors.

First go to www.classdojo.com

You will see this:

Click: Sign up

Proceed through the sign up (images below)

After you sign up you will be redirected to this page (Homepage)

Click on Demo Class (It lets you practice)

It will take you here:

These are the students for Demo Class


Click on one

Positive is where the desired behaviors (On Task, Participating, and


Working Hard) are.
Click one and it will give that student a point

Needs Work is where the undesired behaviors are (see below).


Click one and it will take away a point from that student

What it will look like with the points:

Now lets create a class!


Go to Homescreen

Click Add Your First Class

Give your class a name


Select your grade

Click on Create my class!

Add your students


They will appear, with their avatar, below the name box.
Click Next to choose class behaviors

Click on the + Symbol to add the behaviors

If you click on the behaviors you can edit their name, icon, or delete
them.
Hit Next

Choose if you want to share your class with parents or students

If you decide to connect with them it will download codes for them both

When you select your class it will create a roster like in the Demo Class,
this is where you give them points and access the other features.

At the Top of the page is:

Classroom is your roster


Reports displays the points of the students and class:

Messages lets you communicate with your students and parents:

There are other features as well:


Timers- starts a timer or countdown
Attendance- lets you mark your students absent or present
Random- selects a random student from your roster
Award Multiple Students- awards more than one student at a time

Reset Bubbles- resets students points
