Encapsulation
Information
The
first
step
to
encapsulating
your
placenta
is
to
discuss
these
plans
with
your
OB
or
Midwife
to
find
out
what
the
hospitals
policy
is
regarding
it.
Arizona
hospitals
and
Doctors
see
more
of
the
birthing
community
using
this
as
a
postpartum
practice
and
usually
support
it.
Placentophogy
has
been
used
for
thousands
of
years
in
ancient
Chinese
practices.
It
is
recommended
to
understand
the
benefits
of
delayed
cord
clamping
because
allowing
the
blood
to
stop
pulsing
from
the
placenta
before
it
is
clamped
and
cut
gives
babies
immune
systems
a
great
advantage,
higher
iron
levels
and
less
chance
of
developing
jaundice.
When
parents
go
to
the
hospital
they
take
a
small
ice
cooler
with
them.
If
they
write
a
birth
plan
they
note
their
placenta
plans
so
the
entire
hospital
team
is
on
the
same
page.
Once
the
placenta
descends
the
medical
staff
will
place
it
in
a
small
container
and
then
the
father,
doula
or
any
support
partner
can
place
that
container
in
the
ice
cooler
covering
it
with
ice.
You
or
your
partner
can
text
me
(no
matter
what
hour)
and
I
will
respond
as
soon
as
possible
to
arrange
for
pick
up.
The
placenta
is
good
on
ice
until
I
pick
it
up,
usually
first
thing
in
the
morning.
If
I
am
at
a
birth
we
can
make
other
arrangements.
I
take
placentas
to
my
office
and
workspace.
I
take
many
steps
to
keep
a
clean
and
sterile
environment
and
follow
the
recommended
safety
preparation
protocol
with
OSHA
standards.
I
cut
small
thin
pieces
of
the
placenta
placing
them
on
a
dehydrator
usually
dehydrating
for
8
hours.
Then
I
use
a
grinder
to
turn
those
dried
pieces
into
powder
and
I
encapsulate
that
powder
using
a
little
machine.
I
usually
process
a
placenta
within
2-3
days
and
if
I
can
24
hours
and
charge
$150
for
the
entire
service
including
picking
up
and
delivering.
The
benefits
of
Placentoghogy
are:
minimizing
postpartum
bleeding,
bringing
breast
milk
in
and
boosting
supply,
returned
energy,
balancing
hormones
which
naturally
helps
with
postpartum
blues
and
sustains
quality
of
skin
and
hair.
Every
woman
and
placenta
has
different
hormones
and
there
isnt
a
standard
dosage.
The
general
recommendation
is
taking
two
pills
three
times
a
day
with
food
for
the
first
two
weeks,
then
going
down
to
two
pills
two
times
a
day.
Do
allow
yourself
to
play
with
dosage
and
check
in
with
your
body
to
see
how
it
responds
to
your
personal
pills.
These
capsules
are
full
of
your
own
hormones
and
should
help
bring
you
back
to
balance
after
having
a
baby.
Some
women
(very
few)
do
report
that
they
feel
more
emotional
after
taking
them.
I
recommend
going
to
a
very
low
dosage,
taking
one
or
two
a
day
or
taking
a
few
days
off
completely
if
you
feel
this
happening.
