Summary:
All dictionary quotations define the term "equal" as needing one to be compared to another.
Summary:
Equality implies plurality; and one is not equal to itself. If God be one infinite spirit without parts, and if there be but
one infinite and true God, then there cannot be another equal to him. This is the language of consistent reason; but if
revelation speaks differently, reason must humbly submit.
There are several other passages that show certain groups of people as being sons of God including Adam.
Isaiah 64:8 Yet, O LORD, you are our Father (H1 Ab). We are the clay, you are the potter (H3335 Yatsar: To
form, fashion, frame); we are all the work of your hand
Hebrew: Jehovah ab chomer yatsar maaseh yad
English: LORD father clay fashion work hand
Jehovah God is the father of these people
The father used the clay (the dust of the ground) to form people
Father is again written in conjunction with creating people
Malachi 2:8 you have violated the covenant with Levi," says the LORD Almighty.
10 Have we not all one Father (H1 Ab)? Did not one God create (H1254 Bara: To create shape or form) us?
Why do we profane the covenant of our fathers (H1 Ab) by breaking faith with one another?
Vs8 Jehovah God admonishes the priests
Vs10 Jehovah God says that they all have one Father
Vs10 Jehovah God says that one God created them, Jehovah God
Two statements paralleling God the father with a God who is their creator
We have one heavenly father and creator.
Hebrew: echad ab echad el bara
English: one father one god created - meaning we are created by our father (God) according to the other scriptures in
P4, P5, P6.
1 Chronicles 29:10 So David blessed the LORD in the sight of all the assembly; and David said, "Blessed are
You, O LORD God of Israel our father (H1 Ab), forever and ever.
David blesses Jehovah God of Israel his father forever.
Jehovah God is Davids father, just as his ancestors are and Jesse is in Ruth 4:17.
Heb: barak Jehovah elohiym yisrael ab

Eng: bless LORD God
Israel father for ever ever
God is the father of Israel just as Mizraim is the father of the Ludites, Genesis 10:13 (see also P3)
Summary:
Deuteronomy 32:1
Isaiah 64:8
Malachi 2:8
1 Chronicles 29:10
Is this the way you treat the LORD, is he not your Father and creator?
Yet you O LORD, you are our Father
Have we not all one Father
David said "O LORD God of Israel our Father"
The OT people of God said several times that the LORD God is their Father and creator.
Part 1C Jesus told the people that God was Their Father
Jesus told the people on numerous occasions that God was also their father. Mathew 5:16, 5:45, 5:48, 6:1, 6:4, 6:6, 6:8,
6:9, 6:14, 6:18, 6:26, 6:32, 7:11, 11:25, 11:26, Luke 6:36 and many more. Throughout these passages Jesus alternates
between "your Father," "our Father," and "my Father." The definition of "Father" is stays the same throughout the
contexts.
Mathew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and
give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
The Sermon on the Mount where Jesus was preaching to large amounts of people, not just disciples, who were "from
Galilee and the Decapolis, and from Jerusalem and Judea, and from beyond the Jordan." He repeated the same
statement several times in one sermon that God is the Father of these people.
Mathew 6:1 Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for
then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
4 And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
Continuing the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus again repeating that God is the Father of all these people
Luke 6:36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.
More from the Sermon on the Mount.
Summary:
Mathew 5:16 + 48
Mathew 6:1
Luke 6:36
Jesus tells the people that God is his and their Father
Jesus continues repeating that God is their Father
Again, Jesus tells the people that God is their Father.
There are many passages in the NT where Jesus tells the people that God is their Father, his Father, and ties them
together with himself by saying "our Father" in Mathew 6:9 and "we worship" in John 4:22.
Because Jesus had told the people, including the Jews, that God was their Father they could also call God "my own
father" as Jesus did. They would then be accused of blasphemy by a certain group of mistaken, misinformed Jews who
through their lack of understanding would then want to put them to death also.
Clearly none of the thousands of people hearing this would be equal with God because God was their Father.
There is a long in depth study at O1D The NT Father linked here that shows among other things that God is the Father
and creator of all human beings, however we are all separated through our sins and then some are adopted back through
Christ.
Do some really believe God is coming with God at the end of times? So two Gods?
Mathew 27:43 He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, 'I am the Son of God.'
If anyone had heard or thought that Jesus was God, surely when they were at the cross ridiculing him instead of quoting
Jesus as saying I am the Son of God they would have said something like "he thinks he is God" etc. Could it be true
that Jesus is God and yet at the time not one person knew it? If there was one person who had the remotest notion that
Jesus was God they would have said it right here. They didnt say more because Jesus had plainly told them who he
was, and he said I am the Son of God.
Summary:
Mathew 3:17 God said "this is my son."
Mathew 17:5 God said "this is my son."
Mark 14:61-62 Are you the son of the Blessed one? " I am," said Jesus
Mathew 27:43 the people quoted Jesus as saying "I am the son of God."
God said Jesus was His son, Jesus said he was God's son, and the people said Jesus was God's Son.
Part 2C: Simlarities and differences between Men and Jesus as a Son of God
Jesus is a Son of God and we are Sons of God. What is the difference? What are the similarities?
Isaiah 40:24-26 Scarcely are they planted, scarcely sown, scarcely has their stem taken root in the earth,
when he blows on them, and they wither, and the tempest carries them off like stubble.
25 To whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him? says the Holy One.
26 Lift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling
them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing.
Vs24 The lives of people are shown to be short and over quickly
Vs25 God asks "who could be compared to Him?"
Vs26 God created all those who think they could be compared to Him.
Isaiah 46:3-6 Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne
by me from before your birth, carried from the womb;
4 even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry
and will save.
5 To whom will you liken me and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be alike?
6 Those who lavish gold from the purse, and weigh out silver in the scales, hire a goldsmith, and he makes
it into a god; then they fall down and worship!
Vs3 All the remnant of the house of Israel have been borne by God
Vs4 God made them and God can save them
Vs5 God asks a rhetorical question knowing that there is none equal to Him
Vs6
Summary:
Isaiah 40:25
Isaiah 46:5
If God insinuates that none are equal to Him, then that includes Jesus.
If Jesus is God then he is not equal to himself because he is himself!
This passage was written after Christ had returned to heaven. Christ is now in heaven and has a head over him who is
God. Some argue that although Jesus was less than the Father while he was on the earth, Jesus was fully God before
coming to earth and again after he returned to heaven, this scripture opposes that idea.
Everything stops at God as he is the head over everything, Christ included. The Church is not Christ, woman is not
man, and Christ is not God.
God was before Christ, God is the head of Christ, God is different from Christ
Christ was before man, Christ is the head of man, Christ is different from man
Man was before woman, man is the head of woman, man is different from woman
How can Christ have a head over him if he is God? He cannot, and is not.
Paul is precisely clear that God is over and above Christ, therefore Christ is not God.
Summary:
John 10:29
John 14:28
1 Cor 11:3
God the Father is greater than Christ the Son both during Jesus' life on earth and now that he is back in heaven, which
confirms no equality
Romans 13:1 For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.
All authority comes from God
Mathew 28:18 Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Jesus had been given all authority at a certain point, therefore there was a point before he was given it. If there was a
point before he was given it then he cannot be God who has always had authority.
Additionally, who gave Jesus all authority? God. Jesus did not have authority until God gave it to him.
If he needed to be given authority he cannot be God who doesn't need to be given anything because he owns
everything.
Summary:
Romans 13:1 All authority comes from God
Mathew 28:18 Jesus was given authority by God
Because there was a point before he had all authority he cannot be God who always had authority.
Because Jesus was given all authority by God, he cannot be God who doesn't need to be given anything.
Jesus is not equal or co-equal with God for these reasons.
This are two scriptures fron an in depth analysis of how Jesus is under the authority of God, see Section 15 linked here
Part 4C: Jesus has a different will but submits to Gods will
Luke 22:42 Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
43
An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.
Vs42 Gods will and Jesus will were different, God does not have two wills.
1 Cor 15:24-28 Then the end will come, when he Jesus hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has
destroyed all dominion, authority and power.
25 For he Jesus must reign until he God has put all his Jesus enemies under his feet.
26
The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
27 For he God "has put everything under his Jesus feet." Now when it says everything has been put under him
Jesus, it is clear this does not include God himself, who put everything under Christ.
28When he has done this, then the Son himself will be made subject to him who put everything under him, so
that God may be all in all.
Vs24-28 Paul says that at the ends of time, Jesus will do certain things then God will do certain things.
Vs24 Jesus, who several years after his death and till the end of times, is still in authority over all things. He then hands
the kingdom back to God, whose it was originally.
Vs25 Paul explains how Jesus is given responsibilities to reign by God.
Vs25 God puts all Jesus' enemies under his feet.
Vs 27 is quoting Psalm 8:6
Vs27 Everything is under Christ except God, because God put it there. God is over Christ.
Vs28 God is in authority over Jesus the son, not the other way around. At the finish Jesus will still be under God, Gods
subject.
God is above Jesus now, always has been and always will be, therefore Jesus is not God.
Summary:
1 Cor 15:24
Vs25
Vs25
Vs27
If Jesus is God he would not give the kingdom back to God at the end of times.
God is not given the responsibilities to reign
If Jesus is God he doesnt need God to put all his enemies under his feet
God put all things, except Himself, under Jesus. This is while they are both in heaven, their
positions could not be switched. God is in does the placement of all things, Non God recieves.
Vs28
Here we have all powerful God and Jesus who is not all powerful but is in subjection to God. After
Judgment Day, Jesus will be made subject to God. "Made" and "subject" are not words that could
be directed at an all powerful God.
This passage was written several years after Jesus had died and returned to heaven, and is referring to the position and
hierarchy of Christ and God at the end of times. God is in authority over Jesus the son, not the other way around, and
no equality. At the End of Times Jesus will still be under God, Gods subject. God is above Jesus now, always has been
and always will be.
This is one scripture from an in depth analysis of when God and Jesus return in the future, Section 38 coming 2015
Written by King David who is marvelling at all that is in creation, and considering man's position as God's
representative on earth as ruler over everything.
Vs1 David addresses God as YHWH which is His personal name, he then says God is our "adonay" which means
master. The name that is majestic is YHWH, not adonay. The LORD/YHWH/ Jehovah has set His glory above the
heavens.
Vs3 David is considering the heavenly expanse in contrast to vs4
Vs4 We as men are seemingly insignificant and so small in the scale of things, compared with the heavens, and yet God
cares for us. Son of man is in the OT 100 times inc 93 times in Ezekiel and in the NT 83 times. In the seventeen
times it is in the OT, outside of Ezekiel, it is usually refering to men in a general way.
Vs5 There is considerable difference here based on the translation.
"lower than the angels" : AV, Darby, DR, KJV, NCV, NKJV,
"lower than God": ASV, GW, HCSB, NASB, NLT, NRSV, RSV,
"lower than heavenly beings": ESV, LEB, NET, NIRV, NIV, TNIV,
The translators are divided as to whether YHWH made man lower than angels, God, or heavenly beings. The problem
word is H430/elohiym which in virtually all other OT contexts is translated "God."
The best way to understand which is correct is to look at Hebrews 2:7 which is a direct quotation and that uses the
Greek word G32/angelos, it translates to "angels" in 19 or the 20 translations quoted. Additionally G32/angelos appears
in the NT 176 times and is translated "angels" 169 times and messengers 6 times (angels are considered as messengers.)
Based on the NT, H430/elohiym in Psalm 8:5 should be translated angels.
Vs5 Referencing Psalm 21:5 He has great glory because you gave him victories; you gave him honor and praise
Vs6-8 This is in reference to
Genesis 1:26 And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over
the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
Psalm 8:6-8 is in direct reference to the power God gave to mankind as ruler over every living thing on the earth.
Vs9 A repetition of vs1 reminding us that the name YHWH (often Jehovah) is majestic.
Hebrews 2:1-9
1
We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.
2
For if the message spoken by angels (G32/Angelos) was binding, and every violation and disobedience
received its just punishment,
3
how shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord
(G2962 Kurios) (Jesus), was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
4
God (G2316 Theos) also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit
distributed according to his (God's) will.
5
It is not to angels (G32/Angelos) that he (God) has subjected the world to come, about which we are speaking.
6
But there is a place where someone has testified: "What is man (all people) that you are mindful of him, the son
of man (men) that you care for him?
7
You made him (men) a little lower than the angels; (G32/Angelos) you crowned him with glory and honor
8
and put everything under his feet." In putting everything under him, God (should be He) left nothing that is
not subject to him (men). Yet at present we do not see everything subject to him (men).
9
But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels (G32/Angelos), now crowned with glory and
honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God (G2316 Theos: God) he might taste death for
everyone (all people).
Hebrews 2 is a follow on from chapter 1 where Jesus is announced
Vs2 Referencing to Galatians 3:19 the law was put in place through angels (paraphrased)
Vs3 This is in reference to the Lord (Jesus') claims to be the savior of mankind throughout the gospels.
Vs4 God supported Jesus' claims by signs, wonders, miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Vs5 As quoted in Genesis 1:26 the world is subject to mankind, not angels.
Vs6 As shown in the analysis of Psalm 8, Hebrews 2:6-8 is in reference to mankind being given dominion of
everything God created on the earth.
Vs7 God made mankind "a little lower than the angels," and yet elsewhere it says angels are ministering spirits sent to
serve mankind. There must be some ways we are lower than angels, and other ways we are not!
Vs8 As per Psalm 8 and Genesis 1:26 God put everything under the feet of mankind.
Vs8 The last sentence of tells us there is a problem that everything is not yet subject to mankind. This is in reference to
death which we do not have any power over.
Vs9 Jesus is reintroduced to to resolve the problems stated in the last sentence of vs8.
Jesus was made like us, lower than the angels ( in whatever way that implies.)
But because Jesus has overcome death he is crowned with glory and honor from God.
Jesus dominance over death is for the rest of mankind.
Hebrews 2:10-18 For it was fitting that he (God), for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many
sons to glory, should make the founder (Jesus) of their salvation perfect through suffering.
11 For he who sanctifies (Jesus) and those who are sanctified (people) all have one source (God). That is why
he (Jesus) is not ashamed to call them (disciples) brothers,
12 saying, I (Jesus) will tell of your (God's) name to my brothers (disciples); in the midst of the congregation
I will sing your (God's) praise.
13 And again,I (Jesus) will put my trust in him (God). And again, Behold, I and the children God has given
me.
14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he (Jesus) himself likewise partook of the same
things, that through death he (Jesus) might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,
15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
16 For surely it is not angels that he (Jesus) helps, but he helps the offspring of Abraham.
17 Therefore he (Jesus) had to be made like his brothers in every respect, so that he might become a merciful
and faithful high priest in the service of God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
18 For because he (Jesus) himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Vs10 Reference 1 Cor 8:6 there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist
Vs11 Reference Hebrews 13:12 Jesus suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his blood
Vs11 We are brothers with Jesus, we are sons of God. If Jesus is God then nonsensically we should be sons and
brothers with God at the same time!
Vs12 Jesus preached to the people regarding God's name and sang His praise. Jesus has a God.
Vs13 Jesus trusts in God, like people do.
Vs14-15 Jesus, from his previous heavenly position, became human being. He did this to show humanity that after he
died, resurection and after-life existed along with salvation with God.
Vs16 Jesus came to help all mankind
Vs17 Jesus the High priest in service to God, God is/was not a High priest in service to Himself.
Vs18 Jesus was tempted, God cannot be tempted.
Summary:
This interpretation of Psalm 8:1-9 and Hebrews 2:1-18 shows that equality with God is in direct opposition to their real

However we interpret the relationship between Psalm 8 and Hebrews 2 it seems that God makes Jesus who Jesus is.

If the Jews had a law in place for such a statement then obviously there must have been many

claimants had thought that they were the creator of the universe? Surely not! It was in place
because the claimants were claiming some sort of high authority which the early Jews had outlawed
to such an extent that the penalty was death. It is preposterous to imagine that any of the previous
claimants, or any of the previous Jews, had actually considered the claimants to be YHWH God. If
the Jews had believed any of the claimants to actually be God, then they must also have believed
they had previously killed the eternal God on numerous occasions which again is unthinkable. No,
the previous Jews had killed people that they had considered liars, their viewpoint was wrong
before and it was wrong now.

Jesus is God
Part 9
Philipians 2:5-7 has a linked in depth analysis which reveals that there is nothing in that passage
that shows Jesus to be God, or to be equal with God.
Final Conclusion:
The term "equal" is in regard to two distinct things being compared with each other. There are several problems that
make it biblically impossible for Jesus to be equal with God and be God. Equality implies plurality; and one is not
equal to itself. Equality implies duality when we all agree that God is one and not two.
People are sons of God, the OT says that God is the Father of the people and Jesus tells the people in the NT that God is
their Father. Comparatively Jesus is the Son of God, and God is the Father of Jesus. The similarities and differences
between people and Christ on their own show that Christ is not God.
God says none are equal to Him, and Christ says that God is greater than he is. This was while Jesus was on earth and
after he is back in heaven.
There are no bible passages that say a son is equal with his father, outside of the possibilities of John 5:18 and
Philippians 2:5-7 which are analyzed elsewhere showing that they do not show Jesus as equal with God as some
mistakenly think.
The laws that the Jews/Pharisees were applying to Jesus were non-biblical and have no support, they had been wrong
on numerous previous occasions and were wrong now. Jesus claimed to be the Son of God which is what he was and is,
nothing more. When Jesus called God his Father did that mean he thought he was equal with Him? Not when he had
said that his Father is greater than himself!
Because there was a point before he had all authority he cannot be God who always had authority, and doesn't need to
be given authority as He doesn't need to be given anything.
There cannont be equality between Jesus and God if Jesus submits to Gods commands, or if Jesus might not remain in
God's love.
Jesus is a servant, God is not a servant.
God puts all things in position for Jesus, Jesus cannot be God if he needs this doing for him
Jesus is subject to God at the end of times, he will not be equal to God at that time.
The bible evidence on the subject of Jesus being equal with God is overwhelmingly against such a possibility.
Therefore he cannot biblically be God.
