TYPES/KINDS OF EXAM I.R.O ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES/ CURRICULUM:

according to the given instructions.
PRACTICAL EXAM: In this method the examinee has to finish practical

ORAL EXAM/ VERBAL EXAM/ VIVA-VOCE/ INTERVIEW: Orally/Verbally
questions are asked by the jury (panel of assessors) and the examinee is
supposed to answer them in the same manner. Generally questions are

conducted.
TYPES OF QUESTIONS: As per the need, the assessor chooses different
kind of questions to evaluate the subjective knowledge & ability of the
students. In written exam, the following types of questions are generally
used.
OBJECTIVE TYPE QUESTIONS: These types of questions are most popular
these days & extensively used in competitive exams. In these types of
questions many (multiple) options are given and the examinee has to select
the most appropriate option. Generally in competitive exams the OMR
(Optical Mark Reader) pattern is used as it is highly convenient and free
from subjectivity/bias.
OMR PATTERN: In this pattern the students are given a question
paper with many options and an OMR sheet/answer sheet. Examinees
have to fill up blank round or square space against correct answer
with blue or black ink (gel pens are not allowed) carefully as the
answer sheet is evaluated through a computer device.
VERY SHORT ANSWER TYPE QUESTIONS (VSA): The expected answer is
very short, in a few words (10-15) or hardly a sentence or two.
SHORT ANSWER TYPE QUESTIONS (SA): The expected answer is brief
around 4-5 sentences and normally within 20-30 words.
LONG ANSWER TYPE QUESTIONS (LA): These types of questions include a
description, analysis, comparison and the expected answer starts with
introduction and ends with conclusion. Thus the answer is written in detail.
Word limit may vary in between 100-150 depending upon the level of exam
