Creating a Network by Copying

Use
You can copy from a standard network or an operative network to create a new operative network.

Activities
When you copy a standard network, all data is automatically copied into the new operative network. When you copy
an operative network, you can select which data you want to have copied into the new network.

Production resources/tools (PRT)
Copying a standard network with relationships to other standard networks
If you use a standard network that has relationships to other standard networks, as a source for copying to an
operative network, the system checks whether operative networks have been created for the other standard networks.
If operative networks exist for these standard networks, the system asks you whether you want to copy these
relationships. If you reply yes, the system lists these operative networks in the following order:
Networks assigned to the project
Networks assigned to the sales order
All the networks in the system.
If you want to copy one or more of the predefined relationships to the operative network, select the corresponding
networks in the list. If you do not select a network, the new operative network is created without relationships.
Copying a standard network with a link to a standard WBS
When copying a standard network to create an operative network, the system can create an operative work
breakdown structure from the linked standard WBS. You can, however, create an operative network from a standard
network linked to a standard WBS without also creating an operative WBS.
