Term 3, 2015

Flinders View Primary School

Room 19 Reception/Year One Class

Another term down!

Homework
It has been great to see the
majority of the students in our
class doing nightly homework.
Students really value the time
you spend with them doing their
homework and it is beneficial
towards their progress.
The Homework format will
remain the same this term.
Please ensure your child
continues to change their reader
daily. If you do not have time to
do all of their homework each
night do not worry. Just make a
note of what you have done or
catch it up the next night. I
understand families have other
commitments
and that children
may be tired
after a long day
of school.

Half way through the year and we are travelling along

well. Some students have made fantastic progress
which is extremely pleasing to see and families
should be proud with the support and role they have
had in their childs progress.
Congratulations to T and C, and J and T who received
our Term 1 and Term 2 Focus on Learning Awards
respectively. This award recognises 2 students each
term who consistently display good learning
behaviours and take pride in their learning.
We have also had a number of children participate in
the schools fortnightly All Star program which
recognizes students who display the schools values
of Honesty, Teamwork, Responsibility and Respect.
Well done T, J, A, B, T and J who participated in this
program this term. This term I hope to see other
students within our class aspire to be selected on
this program and to see a larger range of students
participate in Term 3.

Last term our class won the

attendance reward one week
out of ten. This term I would
like to see this improve to 3
or more wins. To do this we
will need to ensure all
students are attending school
daily.
Last term we again had 11
students who had 90% or
higher attendance (missed
less than 5 days of school in
Term 2). . These students
were eligible for our whole
school attendance reward
and attended a cinema
session to watch Inside Out. It

would be great to see this

number increase this term to
15 or more students. We also
experienced significant
lateness last term, with a
number
of
students
consistently missing Numeracy
sessions. This impacts on their
numeracy learning now and in
the future. In order to ensure
they are able to participate in
Numeracy sessions please
help your child to be at school
by 8:50am. SRC runs a
fortnightly raffle to reward
children who are consistently
at school at this time.
