    Themeetingassumessignificancesinthebackdropoflargescaleoppositiontothegovernmentproposaltoreplacetheheritagebuilding.
    ChiefMinisterK.ChandrasekharRaocalledonGovernorE.S.L.NarasimhanonTuesdayandwasunderstoodtohavediscussedtheissuesof
    newuniversitiesactbeingcontemplatedbythegovernment,shiftingofOsmaniaGeneralHospitalwardsfromtheheritagebuildingandthe
    LegislaturesessionbeingplannedinSeptemberfirstweek.
    Themeetingassumessignificancesinthebackdropoflargescaleoppositiontothegovernmentproposaltoreplacetheheritagebuildingthat
    isinaprecariousconditionwithamultistoriedbuildingwithbetteramenitiestopatientsanddoctors.Politicalparties,socialactivistsand
    heritageloversarestronglyopposingthegovernmentplanand,instead,demandingconservationofthebuilding.
    Mr.ChandrasekharRaowaslearnttohavetakenuptheissueofnewuniversitiesactbeingcontemplatedbytheStateGovernmentto
    overcomethecontroversieswithregardtoadmissionsandappointmentsinthevarsitieslocatedinTelangana.EarlierinthedayDeputyChief
    MinisterK.Srihari,whoalsohandlestheeducationportfolio,heldameetingwithChiefSecretaryRajivSharmaandotherofficialsonthe
    issueandgavethedetailstotheChiefMinister.
    TheTelanganagovernmentsplantomakeanewlawonuniversitiesassumessignificanceinthewakeofcontroversiesoveradmissionsin
    TeluguUniversityandDr.B.R.AmbedkarOpenUniversity,listedintheTenthScheduleofAPReorganisationAct,locatedinHyderabad.The
    APgovernmenthasbeenaccusingitsTelanganacounterpartofdenyingadmissiontostudentsofAPorigininthetwouniversitieshere.The
    twoStateGovernmentsarealsoengagedinaspatoverpaymentofsalariestostaffworkingonthecampusesofthetwouniversitiesinAP.The
    ChiefMinisteralsoapprisedtheGovernorofthegovernmentplanstohaveanAssemblyLegislaturesessioninthefirstweekofSeptember.
