AN ACT Amending By-law {Section 320.00 Sub-Section 320.04}

BE IT ENACTED BY THE ASWSUV SENATE:

Sec. 1. That section 320.04 reads as such: 04 The Executive Staff will post and maintain at least ten (10)
hours in the office per week through the entire term of office.
A. Executive Cabinet officers will be required to maintain a record of office
hours served, through the use of a time verification mechanism that will be
provided by ASWSUV.
1. Oversight will be conducted by the ASWSUV President.

Sec. 8. Be changed to read as such: The Executive Staff will post and maintain an average of ten (10) hours
in the office per week through the entire term of office.
A. Executive Cabinet officers will be required to maintain a record of office
hours served, through the use of a time verification mechanism that will be
provided by ASWSUV.
1. Oversight will be conducted by the ASWSUV President.

STATEMENT OF FACT:
The purpose of the amendment is to better facilitate the office hours of the Executive Staff throughout the
school year. By replacing the words ‘at least’ with the phrase ‘an average of’, fewer hours will be required during
nonproductive periods and will allow time for greater attention during peak periods. Essentially, the amendment
eradicates excessive downtime and provides more opportunity when it’s needed.
