Procedure

2. Students will present their research findings by citing sources, analyzing

information, and applying digital media programs to create a visual, interactive
timeline display.
Students will:
1. Watch with research how-to videos
2. Fill out the WSQ form after watching the videos
3. Discuss WSQ with small group* and large group
4. Research the assigned time period from Hitler's life independently and then
with their group (see research requirements sheet and videos)
5. Analyze and organize the collected information.
6. Create 2-3 slides on the shared Google Slides document for the groups time
period (see presentation requirements sheet)
7. The class will present the completed Hitler Google Slide timeline.
*Groups will be assigned based on research abilities (assessment conducted at
the beginning of the year). Students with weaker research skills will be assigned
the beginning time frames of Hitlers life because there is less information to
analyze and evaluate.

Assessment/
Evaluation

Students will be assessed using a rubric for their research and presentation skills
on the Hitler timeline project.

Technology

Students will have access to chromebooks, iPads, personal smartphones, and

the schools media center. Each student has a school Google account to use
when researching and presenting.

Closure

At the end of this introduction lesson, the Hitler timeline will be presented. This
timeline will lead into the book Night by Elie Wiesel because this project has
provided the background to the novel.
