carbohydrate metabolism and various enzymatic reactions

malabsorption; prolonged diuresis, diabetic acidosis.

secondary to diuretic or corticosteroid therapy

acute dehydration;
GI disorders that delay passage in the GI tract.

Slow K
in a wax matrix. This formulation is intended to provide an extended-release of potassium from
the matrix to minimize the likelihood of producing high, localized concentrations of potassium
within the gastrointestinal tract.
never add KCl to an IV bag/bottle which is hanging. After adding KCl invert

bag/bottle several times to ensure even distribution

Monitor IV injection sites regularly for necrosis, tissue sloughing, phlebitis.
