STANDARD PUMP AND MOTOR

PUMPS: Heavy duty self-priming, positive displacement rotary gear pump with corrosion resistant
bronze housing and gears with stainless steel shafts, self lubricating carbon bearings with lip-seals.
Mounted directly to the motor via a carbonator style split-tang shaft coupling.
MOTOR: 1/3 HP, open drip-proof, ( squirrel cage ) single phase, auto thermal protected, bearing
supported shaft, class B insulation for continuous 40 degrees C operation, 115 V, 60 Hz.
LIFT: The pump is self-priming, and capable of lifting #2 diesel fuel over 20, however pipe size
(diameter ), bends, restrictions and hot or cold ambience can easily reduce this lift distance. In general,
the main tank / day tank system should be designed with no more than about 17 of vertical lift. If the
site design requires more than 17 vertically between the main and day tank, it is necessary to order
the optional remote pump / motor enclosure, to be placed at the main tank. To insure continuous self
priming characteristics, the optional foot valve, and / or check valve recommended for all high lift areas.
PIPE RUN: If a long run between the main and day tank is required ( 100 150 ), a check valve
is recommended. This will insure that the pump does not have to evacuate a large air volume during
each operation. And because even a small air leak in the line may defeat the self-priming of the pump,
all lines should receive a careful pressure check before start-up.
FUEL STRAINER: The pump is a very high lift, close tolerance design. While this pump can handle
Small amounts of foreign matter, it is essential that the fuel be free of excessive contamination. In
particular, new installations can have large amounts of iron scale in the pipes, and rust or other matter in
the main tank. To keep your pump and valves operating in good health, we recommend the installation of
a fuel strainer, to the input line.
Please feel free to consult our factory if the application is in doubt.
