pH Buffer Concentrate
DESCRIPTION/APPLICATION:
BA 8C is a liquid concentrate of pH Buffer BA-8 used in BoraFRAQ fracturing fluids. BA 8C can be
applied up to 190F (88C), and in combination with pH buffer BA 7 up to 230F (110C). A significant
advantage of BA 8C is its ability to stabilize the pH to an optimal 9.0 to 9.5, enhancing both gel stability
and proppant transport.

APPLICATION AND DOSAGE:

For fracture stimulation treatments, the recommended dosage of BA 8C varies from 1.5 to 10 gallons per
1,000 gallons (1.5 to 10 liters per cu. meter) of crosslinked gel. BA 8C is compatible with all fracturing additives. However, compatibility tests should be performed with fluid system.

AVAILABILITY:
BA 8C can be prepared using BA 8, which is available in 50 lb (22.7 kg) bags, shipped in pallet form from
Houston, Texas.

SHIPPING AND HANDLING:

BA 8C is a nonhazardous alkaline liquid product. Caution should still be used, however, when handling
the product. Refer to Material Safety Data Sheets for overall handling information, first aid procedures,
and required protective equipment.
