Fourth Grade News

Thank you for having your child read at home!


When we partner in education, anything is possible. Check out this Harvard study on the correlation of parental involvement and student
achievement: http://www.hfrp.org/publications
-resources/browse-our-publications/parentalinvolvement-and-student-achievement-a-meta-analysis. Simply setting
and enforcing a time for your child to read at home counts as parental
involvement. Hopefully, your child will take the initiative and do his/her
reading without a reminder. You might want to check in with him/her to
let him/her know you care.

Speaking of reading, we are focusing on

thinking in our classroom.

You should start to hear your child share his/her thinking. Conversations may look something like this:
