UNIT-I
BASIC ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS-SOURCES
circuit concepts-R-L-C components-voltage and current sources-specifications of components,sources-independent and dependent sources-source transformation-voltage and current relation ship for passive elements- Kirchhoffs laws- network reduction
techniques-series,parallel,series parallel, star to delta or delta to star transformation -introduction to magnetically coupled
circuits.

UNIT-II
SINGLE PHASE A.C CIRCUITS
R.M.S and Average values and form factor for different periodic wave forms,steady state analysis of R,L,C with sinusoidal
excitation-concept of reactance ,impedance,Suscepatance and admitance -phase and phase difference - concept of power
factor ,real and reactive powers- J notation,complex and polar forms of representation, complex power-resonance-series
parallel circuits, concept of band width and Q-factor.

UNIT-III
NETWORK TOPOLOGY
Definitions-graph-tree-,basic cut-set and basic tie-set matrices for planer and non planer networks-loop and nodal methods
for analysis of networks with independent voltage and current sources-duality and dual networks.

UNIT-IV
NETWORK THEOREMS(WITH OUT PROOF)
Tellegens and superposition ,reciprocity ,thevenins ,Nortons maximum power transfer,millman and compensation theorems
for d.c and a.c excitation.

UNIT-V
TRANSIENT ANALYSIS
Transient response of R-L,R-C,R-L-C circuits for d.c and sinusoidal excitation only-initial conditions-solution using differential equation approach and Laplace transform method solutions.

UNIT-VI
NETWORK PARAMETERS
Two port network parameters -Z,Y,ABCD and hybrid parameters and their relations concept of transformed network-two
port network parameters using transformed variables.
