SNC 1D Field Trip Policy/Permission Form

For Science this semester, there will be times when students will be leaving the
classroom. This may include walking into forested areas near the school property
and visiting the pond toward the back of the school property. We believe that
these trips are beneficial because they expose students to real-world applications
of material being covered in the classroom.
NOTE: There will be a separate form outlining day-long field trips.
For one-period trips, students are expected to behave appropriately. This
includes, but is not limited to the following:

Wearing appropriate clothing if it is wet outside, this might include a rain

coat, rubber boots, etc., if it is sunny, this may include a hat, sun glasses,
and/or sunscreen
Staying with the group
Using appropriate language
Appropriate use of electronic devices occasionally, the teacher may ask
that students support their learning by taking photographs of the
environment. This will be determined prior to the field trip, and will be
discussed in class. If students are using their devices inappropriately
(texting, listening to music, etc.), they will be subject to the school's
Appropriate Use Policy (see Blue Book).
Remaining focused on the task at hand
Respecting the environment - take nothing but photographs, leave nothing
but footprints
Respecting their peers not engaging in horseplay or other distracting
behaviour

**PLEASE INFORM YOUR TEACHER IF YOU HAVE ANY ENVIRONMENTAL

ALLERGIES**
If a student fails to meet these expectations, it may result in an alternate plan for
that student when future trips are scheduled.
Thank you for your support!
Mr. F. Luzi
I hereby give my son/daughter permission to leave the school building in
order to participate in walking trips around or off of school property
