1. Mrs. B became a teacher because her advisor told her she is perfect for
it. So she just went with it.
2. Working with urban kids is the main challenge she faces as an
educator.
3. Accomplishment is the best part of being a teacher. When students
accomplish their work she is satisfied.
4. She sits the kids in the class based on the social interaction among the
students.
5. Mrs. B selects members of flexible grouping depending on motivation.
She places the high with the medium motivators. The low motivators
will not do anything.
6. There is zero interaction with parents. They have an annual open
house and literally no parents come.
7. She grades at home for 3 days.
8. It takes about an hour to plan lessons for the week.
9. The only consequences that work with this age group are threats and
master manipulation.

She is evaluated four times throughout the year. They use her

gradebook, attendance, and content objectives as a tool to determine


her performance.

What surprised her most about teaching is that everyone has a

different ideology and educational philosophy of how to teach. There


can be clashes and yielding among the administrators and teachers. It
is best to find a school that matches your ideology or you will be in
trouble.
