• Read Luke 14: 26-33
• Any movement, ministry, or day in day out way of living pushing you to exalt Christ in your life requires you to be aware of what you need and what you have to give up. Jesus is not a politician
• Jesus did not politic His words. He drew a line
in the sand. • The prophet Isaiah said that there would be nothing on the outside that would attract people to Jesus. Stop! Before You Go On… • For the SAT test there are several stop signs in the test. • In the book of Luke Jesus told us the cost of living out CHRISTianity First as our culture. I Dare You • When we hear Jesus speaking harshly there is the temptation to treat it as “heart language” • I dare you to look at Luke 14:26-33 more closely, to take it literally. Because I think Christ was more serious than we want Him to be. • So what do you think Jesus meant in Luke 14: 26-33?
• What does it look like to live CHRISTianity

Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy. (1 Peter 2:9-10, NIV) History of Adam • In Genesis 1:26-28 we are told of the purpose of our creation was to be caretaker of His creation. • In Genesis 2:16-17 God tells Adam and Eve the rules for being in the garden. Jewish History • The children of Israel are the chosen people of God. • They took it seriously but is it the way God intended for them. • Read Genesis 12:1-3 Peter and Paul • In Acts 1:8 Christ last words to the disciples were to witness to the ends of the earth. • Yet even Peter walked away from the truth of everyone being part of salvation until Paul corrected him. The Red Lens • We all see the world in different lenses. • But what lens are we looking through? • Because we live what we believe – not what we know.
