The Application for Undergraduate Admissions consists of four parts. You will need to complete each step in a timely
manner for us to recommend your file to the Admissions Committee.
As you move through the application process, please keep the following deadlines in mind:

DECEMBER 31st
Deadline for early applications.
Applications postmarked by this date will receive priority consideration for admission to the coming
academic school year. Please note: this postmark date includes all pertinent application materials
covered in Steps 2-4 of this packet.
Total Application fee for early Applicants is $50.

FEBRUARY 15th
Deadline for regular applications.
Please make sure all materials (steps 2-4 of this packet) are postmarked no later than this date for
consideration as regular admission.
Application fee is $60.

MAY 1st
Applications received after the February 15th deadline are considered late, but can be postmarked
until May 1st with an $80 fee. If you wish to apply after the May 1st deadline, you should contact the
Admissions Office by phone at 812-307-9302 or by email. Decisions to consider applications
postmarked after May 1st will be based on space availability, after all early and regular applications
have been reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
Please Note: For any non-official document, you may attach a pdf to an email and send it
to our Admissions Offices email address.
Applicant Status:
After you have completed each step and have mailed or emailed your information to our department, the
Admissions Committee will carefully consider your application for the coming academic year.
Once youve started your application, well do all we can to keep you up to date on your status and
upcoming deadlines. You will receive an email or phone confirmation (based on your preference as noted
in the Application Form) once we have received your Application Form and payment (Step 1 of the
application process, found on pgs. 1-3 of this document). After the receipt of your payment and Application
Form, we will regularly remind you via email or phone as to what documents are still pending for your
application to be complete (Steps 2-4). Admissions decisions for early and regular applicants will be made
after the February 15th deadline, and prospective students will be notified of final decisions beginning in
April and no later than May 1st.

Application Procedures
Applying to Athanasius College is an easy 4 step process. That said, please pay careful attention to the
following guidelines, as you need to send all materials in a timely manner in order for us to consider your
application for the coming academic year:
STEP 1: APPLICATION FORM AND FEE
Please fill out the Application Form, on pages 1-3 of this packet, and return it, along with the appropriate
fee, to the Admissions Office.
STEP 2: ESSAYS
In addition to the Application Form and test scores, the Application Committee asks you submit three
essays and three additional forms for review.
The essays should include:
1. Statement of Christian Faith: In 250 words or so, explain your faith in Jesus Christ and the process
by which God brought you to faith.
2. Statement concerning why you wish to attend Athanasius College. In 250 words or less, please tell the
Admissions Committee why you wish to attend classes at Athanasius College. Since we are dedicated to
training students in accordance with our mission and vision statements, we need to make sure you fit these
aims. Explain to us how you see Athanasius College meeting your own academic and personal goals, and
how you think you will benefit from our program.
3. Copy of high school essay. The Admissions Committee asks you send what you take to be your best
graded academic writing. The essay can cover any subject, but must be your own work, preferably graded
by a parent or teacher. Seeing this will allow us to assess your rhetorical and reasoning skills which are
essential to success at Athanasius College.
STEP 3: TEST GRADES AND TRANSCRIPTS
You must take either the SAT or the ACT for acceptance to Athanasius College. You may take both if you
wish, but are not required to do so. Please send either an official or photo-copied set of your results to
our Admissions Office, along with your High School Transcript. This may be a pdf attachment. Typically,
we expect a composite score of 20 or higher on the ACT, and scores of 500 or higher for each section of
the SAT. Since you are sending us a writing sample, we do not weigh the SAT essay score as heavily.
Along with Test Scores, please send a copy of your transcript to our Admissions Office. For students
attending a private or public high school, this may be a photocopy, as long as the signatures of your
school officials are visible on the document.
For home schooled students, a detailed transcript of what courses youve taken to complete high school
will satisfy the transcript requirement. You may also write a letter detailing each of your four years of high
school. Either document should be signed and dated by the parent or guardian who primarily oversaw
your education. We will also accept GED scores, though these are not required.
STEP 4: FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE and RECOMMENDATION FORMS
Attached to the Application Form are three additional forms you should either fill out or have filled out and
sent to our Admissions Office:
1) Financial Disclosure; 2) Academic Recommendation Form. Home schooled students may have a parent
fill this out, though a non-related instructor would be preferable; 3) Spiritual Recommendation Form.
Preferably filled out by a pastor or elder of your home church.

NOTE TO TRANSFER STUDENTS:

We do accept transfer credits from other colleges, usually requiring a B or higher for the transfer to count
for credit at Athanasius College. Transfer students should know we are unable to replace the majority of
CORE classes with such credits. In certain cases, we may be able to make an exception, but these situations
are judged on individual bases and are solely the decision of Athanasius College.

NOTE ON PART-TIME, FULL-TIME, and CERTIFICATE STATUS

Some students may wish to take only our CORE classes, or one or two classes per semester. If you feel this
best describes your situation, please note the following classifications:
Matriculating, Full-Time. A student who is seeking a degree and is registered in all classes needed
to fulfill the requirements for a full-load semester.
Matriculating, Part-Time. A student who is seeking a degree, but, due to work, family, or other
related issues, is unable to attend classes full-time. This student will have all the obligations and benefits
of a full-time matriculating student.
Full-Time Enrollment in the Certificate in Christian Thought. The certificate allows students
enrolled full-time at IU, Bloomington, or Ivy Tech, to still take one class a semester from Athanasius
College. The courses available for this certificate are limited, so please see our Course Catalog for further
information.
Non-matriculating. A student who is paying to attend and participate in class work without seeking a
degree. This students work will be graded by the faculty member. Enrollment may be either full-time or
part-time.
Auditor. Based on faculty approval and/or recommendation, certain persons may be able to audit
courses from Athanasius College. They will not have their work graded. The faculty member in charge of
the audited courses will decide whether or not the auditor can participate in general class discussion.
