EDUCATION

Alhamdulillah, I consider myself one of

the Pioneers of IFS, as I joined the
school in the second year of its inception. Since that time, I have had the privilege of observing many changes,
growth, and success of this prestigious
institution. I have had the pleasure of
serving in many committees such as
Awards, Science Fair, Admissions, Discipline, Book Fair, Spelling Bee,
Speeches, Mathematica, and Play Day.

I attribute the school's success to Allahs

blessings, wonderful students, supportive parents, dedicated staff, and strong leadership.
In our Grade 5A class we encourage students
to always have a positive attitude, develop
their collaborative skills, and display teamwork.
Cooperation and teamwork have numerous
benefits for everyone. We therefore hope to
work together with parents as a team to help
our students achieve their goals, Insha Allah!
Please keep supporting us, and remember us in
your duas, Jazak Allah Khair.

Binders:
I will appreciate if parents can send a 1 1/2 inch
binder with 8 tabs for the different subjects. This
will help to keep the sheets organized. Assessment folders will be provided to students by the
school.

TEXTBOOKS & STUDENT PLANNERS:

All the textbooks will be numbered, and each student will be assigned a textbook, corresponding to
his or her number, according to the class list. At the end of the year, the students will be required
to return these books. Please encourage your child to be responsible in taking good care of them.
In case of loss or damage, a replacement fee (full cost of the book) will have to be paid by the parents. Students will be allowed to keep the workbooks after the school year is over.
A student planner will be provided to each student. It is important for the students to write down
all their homework and take home all the necessary books and notebooks they will need in order to
complete it. It becomes the Parents responsibility to check the planner on a daily basis, and to
make sure that homework has been completed. If it cannot be completed for any reason, please
send a note stating the reason(s) for incomplete homework. The planner is also a tool for communication between the parents and the teacher, as there is space provided for writing important notes
and messages.

AKHLAAQ & SCHOOL UNIFORMS:

This year at IFS, we will continue to strengthen our Akhlaaq program. The purpose of this program is to
instil in our students Islamic morals and values, thereby developing students into responsible Muslims and
good Canadian citizens. We will address one Akhlaaq trait each month in class and throughout the school.
The character trait for the month of September is Punctuality.
Students are expected to be on time for class everyday in proper school uniform. It is mandatory for girls
to wear a white hijaab everyday. The morning bell is at 8:15 am. Students are to line up outside and make
their way to their classroom. If a student is habitually late, a note will be written in the agenda. Students
are to listen to the morning announcements quietly at their desks. In the morning we will participate in
Literacy/Numeracy initiatives, DEAR (Drop Everything and Read), or DPA (Daily Physical Activity).
Students are expected to come to school equipped with all their books, pencils, erasers, completed homework, proper uniform, morning recess snack, and a nutritious lunch. Do not send food with nuts.
