The science of dental materials has undergone tremendous changes over the years. Continued
research has lead to new material systems and changing concepts on dental field. An esthetic and
durable material that could accurately replace a tooth structure has always been a dream. Dental
ceramics hold the promise of a restorative material that can realistically duplicate teeth. The
myriad use of dental ceramic as a restorative and prosthesis necessitates gaining the knowledge
on the advancements of ceramics. Through this poster, the evolution of dental ceramics so far
and its vast scope for future advancements are brought to light.
