Learning to Look

May 2015

Robert Hall

Robert Hall is an American-born artist and former ISL Lower School teacher of
27 years. He has exhibited his visual artwork since 1981 in Luxembourg, France,
Belgium, Italy, England and USA. He received his masters degree in sculpture from
Wimbledon College of Art.
Robert makes drawings, prints, paintings and sculptures. His site-specific
installations and commissions began in 1992 and continue to the present. He is
currently preparing his next solo exhibition in 2016, based on World War 1.
For the Learning to Look series, Robert has chosen to share a selection of three
related pieces: a drawing, a painting and a print made between 2005 and 2014.
Viewed in that order, they reflect both similarities and differences in content, media
and approach. From the more recognizable landscape drawing of 2005, the print of
2014 has moved into what is more of an abstract interior landscape.
Robert is on Facebook
and at http://www.atelierempreinte.org (see membres tab)
His email is robert_hall@islux.lu
Roberts work will be on display in the Hillside Gallery for the duration of May. He will
be coming in to discuss his work with several student groups . If you would like to
view his work please stop by the Hillside gallery during this time.
