CAS Stages complete questions below:
1) Investigation - what are your goals for this CAS experience?
My goal for this CAS experience is to improve how the LIS News is presented in
terms of quality, information presented, how intriguing the news is, etc as well as to use
the LIS News to promote events in the school in a more interactive and enthusiastic
way. Lastly I hope to persuade other students in the school to join the LIS News as the
LIS News is low on helpers.
2) Preparation briefly identify your plan of action and include an approximate
timeline.
Since I will be working alongside the person in charge of the LIS News I will be the
person who films and who hopefully gets to suggest other unique ideas for the LIS
News to better engage the students and to hopefully, get more people to join the LIS
News.
September- Familiarize myself with the LIS News and how it operates and do
some usual and typical shoots.
October-November- Suggest using better equipment for recording editing, etc so
the overall integrity and quality of the News improves and also so I can
familiarize myself with new software and equipment.
October- December- Experiment with possible new equipment and experiment
with alternatives as to how News is presented.
(After Winter Break)- Suggest LIS News ideas to better intrigue the students as
to what is being shown on the News or intrigue students on joining the LIS News.

Before Summer break- Hopefully the LIS News gains more volunteers for next
year and has also gained sufficient improvement on how it is presented. Also I
have hopefully learned enough about how the LIS News operates so that next
year, we can once again do something different with the news.

3) Action - how will you accomplish your goals? Who will be involved?
My goals will be accomplished by me using my computer skills and ideas to both
improve the news, and to improve my understanding of filming and how the LIS
News team also come up with ideas.
4) Reflection - what were your expectations? What did you hope to gain from this
experience? What did you learn? What are your next steps? How are the Learner
Profile attributes incorporated?
My expectations are to see both the LIS News as well as myself improve as I want to become
better skilled with filming. I also wish to see the LIS News improve as it will hopefully become
more intriguing and more intriguing for more students to join. I hope to gain more skills on filing
and editing. I also hope to gain a better understanding in the stages of News making and how
the News teams plans and comes up with ideas for the News. My next steps are to familiarize
myself with what the LIS News does already so I can use it as a foundation for how I improve as
well as how I can help the LIS News improve. The learner profiles are incorporated through
what will be presented in the news and how. The News will demonstrate my growth and
development because as I participate in the LIS News I hope to see how I film and make the
news changes. I also hope to see how my growth and development from being at the LIS News
can be reincorporated into the news to make it better using what I have learned. I also feel I will
better learn from this experience as I will be working real closely with the head of the News who
is skilled in filming as well as movie making.

5) Demonstration what evidence will you use to show you have completed your
goals?
I will post news videos published that involved me on my website. I will also take my
own photos and videos to show what is being done behind the scenes while shooting or
editing and will also post that on my website.
