Writing Excerpts
A few samples from various pieces of writing this term!

The mountain loomed over me like a sky scraper, a cave made of pure ice with a river corrupted the silence. The ice froze my muscles as
I rode down the rampaging river. Light gushed
in as it melted the crispy light, the water eroded the gravely sides as it grinded into atoms.
Crispy air surrounded my body as I guided the
boat and bits of ice floated beside my like
companions. Light balance around like a spotlight, searching eels snaked through the water.
A little crab raced around scavenging on
bones as the water clashed against the rocks
spraying cold water on my face. A cold shiver
ran down my spine. I looked down, a little spider crawled. I chucked it away with disgust. I
looked up and I nearly got blinded by the shine
of the crystals. Such beauty that nature can
create, but also disastrous.
By Harvey Masters
The silky motionless body of snow was drifting with
shimmering icicles. The icicles shone and shimmered in the sun rays. the white fluffy snow felt like
a pillow under my feet and it was slowly sinking. A
cold icy breath taking whisper passed my face
sending a chill down my spine. When I breath
smoke came pouring out.
The current of air grew stronger and my hair flicking
up high, then the snow slowly set, hiding on the
horizon. As the moon got into position, and the
stars looked like glow worms holding on for dear life
on the black silky sky. With snow screaming in my
ears and a loud whisper of wind echoed in my ears
with snow making me blind. The frosty bit of snow
flung up my clothes, and clouds of dusty snow
swirled all around me.
By Kate McMahon
The wind blew in my ears as the trees reflect
off the water. The cherry blossom trees of China are in he middle of a beaming sun. At dawns
these trees stagger around in the smashing current winds, sometimes little rain droplets twinkle
of the pinkie trees. Crickety crack, I limp over
to the end of the bridge and I heard a crack, and
the bridge collapses.
By Lincoln
The sun smiled down on me as glistening grass grated the tents.
The pointy rocks increased round the tents, the gleaming snow
shadowed over me. A crisp breezed washed over me. The air
brushed against me, as I scrambled for the tent. A strike of
lightening shattered through out the air, my heart beating against
my chest. I collapsed with fear shivering all through, the rain hammered down on the tent. Dashing out of the tend I sprinted to
the cave just in time. The lightening sizzled the tent.

Churning through the water go me ad my partner, snow, ice and water

as far as the eye can see. The frosty morning air leaves an icy cage
over our boat. The fresh smell wafts up my nose. Ripples flow out from
under our boats. My toasty warm jacket blocks out the freezing, bitter
air. Antarctica is huge and dangerous, out here it is a game in the sea
of life or death.
By Patrick Nicholson

The bitter breeze blew across my face like I was in a hurricane. The sweetness of
the birds chirp was a perfect lullaby. My layers and layers just kept me warm as
the ivory blue sky was turning into a black sky as we slurp up our hot chocolate.
BY Ebony Wills
The bleached paper white walls stood before me as I trickled down the dim motionless cave. The rime lucent crystals
drew my gaze to the looming arc blue roof. Every thing was
unflurried. It seemed this was a cave with no problems. I
wandered nervously until a large crack fractured the biting
air, crystal ice clouds started to gather as a blast of air
pushed me to the durable hard ground. It felt as if my
bones clattered inside y body. What was about to happen I
wondered to myself. An abandoned ice cube dropped to the
ground, ice particles shattered on the rigid crystal cave
ground a small sharp ice particle stabbed into my soft leg.

Smoky sapphire red sitting on the frozen twigs as I amble through the
blossoming flowers, the sparkly lights guiding my way. The clambering
leaves shake around me as the night sky seems to spring at me. The
daunting petals fall from the gloomy trees as the night gets darker. A
sudden flicker coming from all around me, the lights suddenly turn
off as fear fills my body. I stagger through the glistening pink petals,
the bitter ground rock hard. The trickling water floats around me as
shadows dance above. I stumble over the tinted rocks

I walk over the icy wooden deck with my metal, old,
rusty rod. I see a little fish leaping out of the freezing water. I chuck my old rusty rod out there as I see
a fin as a sharp as a grey rock coming up to my sharp
metal hook. I slowly started to sliver of the wooden
deck with the weight of the fish, I look down as I see
white ripped bones below. Then I felt my skin freeze,
the shark started to glide in the freezing icing water.
By Oscar Kitto

The blossoms danced down my face as if they were snowflakes all

around me. Voices echoed around me as people were singing. The petals dazzled to the ground.
