INTRODUCTION

This report will look at new trends that could be incorporated into a website to ensure that it
is content driven, attractive and allows users to quickly get access to the content presented
on it. The researchers are trying to find ways in which these trends can be used to make
companies successful.
The objective of this report is to select any five trends that are used when developing
websites. The aim is to explain their purpose and also to provide how they can be applied by
showing how companies incorporate the specific trend as part of their websites. The findings
will outline how these trends work and how successful they have been.
The five trends that were selected include longer scrolling, storytelling, elimination of big
header framework pictures, removal non-essential design elements and fixed width centred
site layout. The assignment will conclude by analysing how these trends will be incorporated
in companies as part of their websites.

FINDINGS

The findings will look at five new trends (2015) that could be incorporated into a website to
ensure that it is content driven, attractive and allow users to quickly get access to the content
presented on it.

2.1

LONGER SCROLLING SITES

Longer scrolling sites are attractive and allow users to quickly get access to the content
presented on it. It has been noticed that most new site designs published recently are longer
than before in length when one is scrolling down the page. Mobile devices are now bigger
and most people are using mobile devices when using internet. This use of mobile devices
also promotes the longer scrolling sites, as is much easy for touch screen mobile device
users to scroll up and down than pressing menus. It was said that mobile devices become
more popular, its becoming more commonplace for sites to decide for scrolling instead of
linking as a means to display content, especially on their home pages (The Net Web, 2015,
pp.4). It is easier for people making use of browser pages to simply scroll through a page to
attain information rather than keep only clicking to attain required information. Karma is a
model of a long scrolling site plan that occupies users with special images, an attractive
layout, and well done typography. The Square registration page is one of the examples of a
scrolling design for interior pages. The use of application software makes an interactive
experience that provides a user with guideline down the web page. Scrolling has turned to
be the customary way of browsing web pages and it is safer to say it's here to stay.
Therefore longer scrolling sites are attractive and allow users to quickly get access to the
content presented on it without any confusion or struggling to access information.

2.2

STORYTELLING

Storytelling site is attractive and allow users to quickly get access to the content presented
on it. Digital Storytelling is a method of portraying a story by means of digital use. It has been
notice to be an easiest method to combine technology to a classroom. Teachers can make
use of digital storytelling with all subjects and they can also overturn the classroom by the
2

use of mobile device applications. With no doubt having remarkable content is always
important when creating a website, and having the ability to communicate a story through
content is an advantage. 2015 web designs are emphasising on assisting organisations to
tell a story to their users. An example, is made by Googles website beautifully tells the
history about google and shows all the googles that have been used till to the current
google. When the users sees all the Googles, users can relate and this also bring memories
of each as it appears and fades away. Storytelling is an influential method

that compels

users to change more excellently than what any amount of optimisation, crazy visual
callouts, or other interactive elements can do otherwise. Creating websites can be very
challenging especially if it is done with visual story telling because a person needs to set up
their entire story in a splendid design. Tinke is an example of a storytelling site and is a
quick, revolutionary way to check ones fitness and wellness. Therefore, Storytelling sites
are attractive and allow users to quickly get access to the content presented on it.

2.3

ELIMINATION OF BIG HEADER FRAMEWORK PICTURES

Elimination of big header framework pictures are attractive and allow users to quickly get
access to the content presented on it. Even though the use of good looking pictures is taken
to be a big thing in web designing, but it looks like that not everyone has the interest of
following and to be a part of the mainstream. Instead, some people go for opposite tactics
and prefer to get rid of wide-screen pictures in favour of clean, solid colour backdrops. This
solution is already named as a fresh trend. While sometimes appropriate, the starkly
minimalist look is often boring and lacks imagination. Simply going against the grain does
not equal being good, and some of these examples just appear lazy and lacking in visual
appeal. Few years ago the trend has been large header background images, with text on top
and it was the main thing visitors sees when they come to a site. To stand out from the rest
that has incorporated the large-header-background-image trend, one had to do the opposite.
The latest site designs have decided to low-grade this trend by keeping their large headers
and remove the background images. One of the most important features about sites is
speed, removing large images performance and speed of the site.

2.4

REMOVAL OF NON-ESSENTIAL DESIGNS

Less is a new word for more. Designs are only complete, once all non-essential components
are carded off. In 2015, it is believed that a lot of ideas will be witnessed in trying to come up
with sites designs by removing non-essential design elements. An example of removed nonessential design features to retain the site clean and simple is seen on websites such
as Rareview Digital Agency website (da Vinci, 2011). It is not made up of big framework
picture headers to welcome guests with. According to da Vinci (2011, pp 5) simplicity is
about subtracting the obvious, adding the meaningful and it is about making something
easier to understand. Simplicity is about subtracting the obvious and adding the meaningful.
Its about making something easier to understand. Simplicity is getting at the main point of
something and getting an understanding of what that thing truly is and then making every
component in line with the main objective. People know simple when they see it, when they
touch it and when they use it. One thing people quickly learn is simplicity is difficult to
achieve. To be truly simple, a person has to go really deep. They have to deeply understand
the main objective of a product in order to be able to get rid of the parts that are not
essential. Web Designers had practically removed many designs that are mostly on current
websites such as background collars, lots of images and sophisticated layouts. Therefore
design have team chosen simple and clean site designs that stands out amid the crowd of
crowded, complex heave images, and colourful sites.

2.5

FIXED WIDTH CENTRED SITE LAYOUT

A banding or fixed width was used by a lot of websites in the past, which the main
component for the use was images and sections visually stretch the full width of a users
viewport. Before the style was known, most sites were using fixed-width and centred in their
pages, people knew where the site ends on all the sides. The fixed-width trend looks like it
has come back in a more modern way. Instead of sites and their content sections going all
the way to either side of the screen, some sites are deciding for a max-width to keep their
content centred in the viewport. Many Web builders tend to use fixed-width page layouts for
page design because they process accurate and foreseeable outcomes. This avenue closely
copy print layout, which is an important comfort element for designers and guests alike; it is
also the best way to handle content that includes lots of big pictures and other factors that do
4

not flow well in a liquid layout. According to da Vinci (2011) for years, designers would make
fixed-width page layouts with tables. The table's columns and rows are an acceptable
correlation of the designer's layout grid, so it's not astonishing that designers changed HTML
tables for use in page layout. However, table-based layouts have sufficiently great
challenges. Besides the fact that it's semantically improper to use tables for layout, the
resulting code is messy, hard to read, and even harder to maintainespecially when it
includes merged table cells and nested tables. Therefore, fix width centred site layout
provides a nice focus for the site content and bucks the width: 100 percent trend with
sophistication.

2.6

HOW COMPANIES INCORPORATE TRENDS TO THEIR WEBSITES

Companies usually choose between Delaware and Nevada. These two states are some of
the popular choices for integration of trends and for good reason. Many big companies pick
Delaware because it produces some of the most progressive, easy to use and pro-business
statutes in the country. And Nevada is becoming a well-known choice for companies
because of its low fees in filing, as well as the shortage of state corporate income, franchise
and personal income taxes.
To keep their current personnel, big companies are putting together programmed techniques
and making digital cultures where staff members will have the power to share information
and also communicate with their colleagues and management through mobile devices. On
the contrarily, management would have the power to evaluate members of their respective
teams and also be able to communicate with human resources and other departments more
efficiently.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion the assignment looked at 5 new trends of 2015 that have been incorporated
into websites to increase user-access, content-presentation and over-all attractiveness.
These trends were identified as; Longer scrolling functions, Storytelling, the elimination of big
header framework pictures, removal of non-essential design elements and fixed-width
cantered site layout. Therefore these trends are attractive and allow users to quickly get
access to the content presented on it without any confusion or struggling to access
information.
