WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO GET IN
TOUCH WITH MRS. SIMONTON?
My preferred method of contact is via
email and Remind texting. Most emails will be
replied to within 24 hours, often sooner.
Voicemail messages will be returned within 48
hours.
WHEN CAN YOU EXPECT YOUR
STUDENT TO HAVE HOMEWORK?
Usually homework will be given three
nights per week. Students are expected to write
down a homework entry EVERY DAY in their
Agenda Books. Should a student not finish their
class work before the class period ends, any
unfinished work from the day automatically
becomes homework that same night, if needed.
Larger projects may require work to be completed
over the weekend. Late homework is not
accepted.
INTERESTED IN DONATING?
Donations are always much appreciated,
and help make memorable learning experiences
possible! Cash or personal check
donations (made payable to Las Colinas Middle
School) can be submitted to the front office. Just
say you'd like the donation to go to Mrs.
Simontons class account. Purchasing

directly through Amazons Wishlist is

also available. Classroom supplies are
always embraced and very much needed as well.
Items such as disinfecting wipes, black Expo
markers, and boxes of soft Kleenex tissues are
always useful. If you can donate your time,
parent volunteers to assist with various
projects throughout the year are always welcome
too! (Please email me if you are interested in
volunteering).

Thank you for attending tonight!

HOW CAN YOU CHECK YOUR STUDENTS

WORK SO THAT THEY DONT FALL
BEHIND?
1) Use Qs Parent Connection at
https://pvsd.vcoe.org/parentconnect/
Log in online at any time for an up-to-date report
of your students progress in Science. Printed
grade reports are also available at any time upon
student/parent request. Grades are posted on a
regular basis in class, so students should always
know what their Science grade is.
2) Visit my teacher website, which is
updated weekly. Navigate to the LCMS website,
click on the Teacher Pages link at the top of the
screen, and select Simonton, Maribel.
3) Ask your student to show you their
Agenda Book everyday to see what the
homework is, and then have them physically show
you the assignment to ensure it is done.
WHAT CAN YOUR STUDENT DO IF THEY
NEED TO RAISE THEIR GRADE?
Students should FIRST ask if he/she has
any missing assignments. It is the responsibility
of your student to approach me outside of class
time about making up any missed work. Missing
assignments can be turned in to the Absent/Late
work basket. LATE WORK is accepted, however
only partial credit will be earned. Extra credit
will only be accepted after ALL work has been
turned in.
WHEN CAN YOUR STUDENT
MEET WITH ME IF
ADDITIONAL HELP IS
NEEDED?
I am available daily during
Nutrition Break, during the first 5
minutes of lunch, and for the first
20 minutes after school every day
(except for Tuesdays). Student
-parent-teacher conferences can
also be scheduled at a mutually
agreed upon time as needed.
