    ThisInformedConsentwillexplainaboutbeingaparticipantinaresearchstudy.Itisimportantthatyou
    readthismaterialcarefullyandthendecideifyouwishtobeavolunteer.

    PURPOSE

    Thepurpose(s)
    ofthisresearchstudyisexploreandbetterunderstandhowsingleparenthousehold
    upbringingisassociatedwithrelationalcommunicationstyles.Youarebeingaskedtotakepartinthis
    studybecauseyouarebetweentheagesof18to25andidentifyashavingbeenraisedinasingleparent
    environment.

    DURATION

    Youwillbeaskedtoattendanapproximately45minutetoanhourfocusgroupattheCarnegieHotelat
    6:30,dinnerstartingat6:00.

    PROCEDURES

    Duringthisfocusgroup,youwillbeaskedquestionsregardingyourupbringingandstylesof
    communicating.Thesessionwillbeaudiotaped.Youarefreetoanswerornotansweranyquestionthat
    isasked.

    ALTERNATIVEPROCEDURES/TREATMENTS

    Therearenoalternativeproceduresortreatmentsforthisstudy.

    POSSIBLERISKS/DISCOMFORTS

    Thepossiblerisks
    associatedwiththisstudyareminimal.Giventhesubjectofthestudy,theparticipants
    mayexperiencesomediscomfortinansweringsomequestions.Theparticipanthastherighttodecline
    answeringanyquestionintheinterview.

    POSSIBLEBENEFITS

    Thepossiblebenefits
    ofyourparticipationisadeeperunderstandingofhowyourupbringingrelatesto
    howyouinteractwithothersonadailybasis.Attheconclusionofthestudy,resultswillbemailedto

    researchersofthisgroupforatleast1yearaftertheendofthisresearch.Theresultsofthisstudymaybe
    publishedand/orpresentedatmeetingswithoutnamingyouasasubject.Allpersonalidentifierswillbe
    removed,sonoonewillknowyouoryourcontactinformation.Althoughyourrightsandprivacywillbe
