Project Scope

The scope of Wildcat custom trailers is to design and create a customer trailer tailored around the
customers needs. This includes a hidden ramp concept which allows the ramps to be easily lowered
and then stored away back inside the trailer. This design resolves safety concerns for the customer
and allows less strain on the body when trying to move ramps around. The trailer needs to be big
enough to comfortably tow two Yamaha grizzly ATVs. Customer ideally would like the trailer to be
universal allowing it to be towed with an ATV around the customers property as well as down the
highway. All this is to be done within the projected budget allocated for this project.

Constraints
Wildcat Custom Trailers team has several constraints that will factor into the design the team wants
to implement. The size of the trailer needs to be big enough to tow with a Toyota Tacoma as well as
a Toyota land cruiser. Weight of the trailer is a factor as the towing capacity of the Tacoma is kept to
a maximum of 3,500 lbs. The land cruiser is able to tow up to a maximum of 8,200 lbs. In order to
have the trailer universal for both vehicles it needs to weigh less than 3,200 pounds fully completed
under load. The other major constraint is maintaining our budget of $3,000 dollars. All of these
constraints will be evaluated as Wildcat Custom Trailers goes forth to insure the customer receives a
quality product.

Voice of Customer Analysis

The customer for this project is John and Karen Fjeldsted. The mission of Team Wildcat Custom
Trailers is to design a trailer tailored around the customers needs to be versatile enough for multiple
applications such as: typical yard work, hauling of their four-Wheeler's, move furniture, and other
basic uses of a trailer. The design must allow for the trailer to be towed with either of their two
vehicles, which are a Toyota Tacoma and a Toyota Land Cruiser. The customer would like
the trailer to have side railings with tie down access. Wildcat custom trailers will make loading and
unloading of equipment to the trailer accessible with ramps to be stored within the trailer itself. Not
only does the trailer need to be hauled by their two vehicles but the customer would also like to hook
it up to their four-wheeler giving them the ability to easily do more aspects of their yard work.
