Inordertocreatethenamesfromtheschooldatabase,theadministratorexportedthefirstandlast
namesofallgrade8studentsbyhomeroomintoaspreadsheet.Theconcatenateandrightfunctions
inExcelwhereusedtocreatetheanonymizedNamesforthewiki.

NamesontheDigiteencompasswikiarepublicallyviewableandthisformulaanonymizesthe
identityofthestudents.
TheBandCcolumnsofthespreadsheetwereusedtocreatethe9teamsandtotakeoneperson
fromeachteamandcreatethe4Actionteams.ColumnBwasnumberedfrom1through9andthen
sortedbyalphabeticallybycolumnA.Similarly,columnCwaslabeledAthroughDandagainsorted.
Theresultwasthatthiscleverlyallowedonememberfromeachofthenineteamstobeoneachof
thefourActionteamssothatalloftheinformationfromthewikiwouldberepresentedinanAction.

TwopodcastsareincludedontheDigiteenCompasswiki.OnegreetingfromMs.Akmedtojoin
theprojectandanotherpodcastfromanexpertondigitalcitizenship,Dr.MikeRibble,whosework
formedthebasisforthewiki.
GaragebandwasusedtoincludemusicloopsandrecordMs.Akmedsvoice.Therewerepausesand
breaksintherecordingthatwereeditedoutofthesoundtrackbyhighlightingthesoundandcutting
thepartsofthesoundtrackthatwasnotwanted.Thesoundtrackrunssmoothlynow.
Theabovescreenshotshowsthesoundtrackinpurpleandthesamesoundtrackinblue(redarrow).
Inordertomakethepodcastexciting,modernnewsbreakingmusicloopswereaddedatthe
beginningandend.Itwasphasedinandoutandoverlappedwiththevoicetrack.
ThesoundwasthenexportedusingthesharemenuandselectingMP3encoderandhighquality.
Sincethepodcastisnotverylong,highqualityonlycreates1.1MBfile.
Thepodcastthenisimportedonthepagebyusingtheedittoolsinthevisualeditor.Firstthe
