In certain projects where vast area as to covered with different

work phases , i.e. around 100,000 sq meter area in total, five 3
storey building situated nearby with a huge car parking, with
numerous site activities both inside and outside the building ,the
normal stand alone fire evacuation system is found to be
Inappropriate in alerting the personals working in different phases
of the project. During construction period, each phases of a
project will be provided with a individual stand alone fire
evacuation system, so as to alert the personals working in that
particular phase in case of
emergency situation. The
disadvantage of this system is that when the fire starts to catch
up and moves further to the other phases, the personals working
in the nearby phases will be caught unaware of the emergency
situation because
fire evacuation
system are stand alone
installation with no interface between the fire evacuation system
in each of the phases .So In-order to overcome such a situation
our temporary electrics department initiated in Installing a
centralized fire evacuation
system which will alert all the
personals working in each of the phases.
The major advantage of this system is that when any of the panic
button is turned on, all the fire alarm unit installed in each of the
phases will be activated. Another advantage is that it enables us
to shut down the power supply feeding to electrical equipment in
other phases when one of the phase is under fire, so a major
electrical hazard can be averted .
