Castle 3
The Castle provides a set of micro-housing options for young people
who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or otherwise excluded from
mainstream housing.

brief C3 will be the third prototype in the development


of a building system capable of being replicated in
a factory staffed by local youth, building on the ex-
periences of C2. C2 was designed and built in 14
days by 24 students.

Composed of stressed skin ply-

autonomous
wood panels, with zincalume
cladding in part
photovoltaics
composting toilet
gas cooking and hot water

mass producable elements capable of reconfiguration C2 includes 9sq. metres internal
space with a further 9sq. m pro-
cnc router cut connections and detailing tected outdoor space.
