What Are The Different Stages A

Film Goes Through ?
The stages a film go through are:
Pre-Production: this is what happens before the film is made. There are many
different stages that happens before the film is made . An example of these are.
Research: There is a designated researcher this person researches for the film to
help the film being made. For the film Straight Outta Compton the researches for
the people that lived through the years when it happened.
Casting: The film needs someone who watches the auditions of actors and decides
who gets the role in the film. The person who casted the actors for Straight Outta
Compton are Cindy Tolan and Victoria Thomas
Script Writer: The Script Writer is the person who writes the scripts and they also
have to write the synopsis. The script writers for Straight Outta Compton are
Jonathan ,Andrea Berloff, S. Leigh Savidge, Alan Wenkus

What Are Different Job Roles

Responsible For?
Director: A Director is the person that controls the artistic and
dramatic parts of the film. Also the director is responsible for
overseeing the film which is controlling how the film is
created. Also the film director gives direction to the cast and
crew and creates an overall vision through which a film
eventually becomes realized. You need many skills to be
able to be a director.

Producer
Producer: The producer manages the films budget he
controls the money for the film and they also need maintain a
schedule. They are either employed by a production
company or independent, producers plan. A producer cannot
always personally supervise all of the production for the film
that is being made

How does a film get funding ?

British films get funded by the BFI this stands for the British
Film Institution. The BFI provide funding for feature film
development and production, which includes international coproductions and completion funding. The BFI also support
British and independent film releases and offer a springboard
for UK film exports. The producer has to hold a meeting with
the company and present his film to them for them to grant
the producer the funding for the film.

How Is The Budget Split?

The budget is usually divided in four sections: above the line
which is creative talent, below the line (direct production
costs), post-production (editing, visual effects.

What Are Above The line And Below

The Line Costs?
Above the line: These are used for the creative side of the film.
Film budgeting
Film crew
Television crew

Below the line: this is the production costs of the film for example props
Graphic Artist
Hair Stylist
Key Grip
Make-up Artist
Production Assistant

How are films marketed and sold

Films are marketed by putting trailers on YouTube and on TV
adverts they are also marketed by film posters and they are
also marketed by the actors on their social media accounts.
The films are sold to places like cinemas and to websites like
Netflix and they are also sold to institutions like Sky and
Virgin and also BT.
